Chapter 545: Eight Years Ago
Sabrina stared at Odette's facial figure, which looked exactly like hers, and couldn't help feeling bitter resentment.
Why?
She was no worse than Odette, so why was it Odette who ended up with Alaric?
That night eight years ago still felt like a nightmare to her.
She should have been the one who slept with Alaric, but somehow it ended up being Odette instead.
When she saw Alaric and Odette sleeping together, she wanted to tear Odette apart.
That was when she locked Odette up.
And that child...
Sabrina sneered coldly, her eyes flashing with obsession and madness.
In this world, only she deserved to have Alaric's child. Any child someone else had with Alaric deserved only death.
"Odette, starting tomorrow, I'll become Alaric's wife. From now on, you'll only be able to look up to me."
Odette glanced at her indifferently, her expression neither sad nor happy. "Whatever you want to do has nothing to do with me."
She had long gotten used to Sabrina mentioning Alaric in her ear, and she knew clearly how much Sabrina liked Alaric.
To the point of obsession.
But she wasn't like that.
She originally had someone she liked, her own boyfriend. Though they lived a simple life together, they loved each other.
But that night eight years ago, everything changed.
Odette had always known she had a twin sister, and that her twin had been adopted by a wealthy family long ago.
She just thought she'd never see Sabrina in this lifetime.
But that night, she was working part-time cleaning at a hotel. Everything seemed normal, and she was thinking about meeting her boyfriend to celebrate their birthday after work.
It happened to be her birthday that night.
She just didn't expect that she would never leave the hotel that night.
After finishing cleaning and preparing to put away her tools, she passed through a hallway and ran into a disheveled, drunk man.
Out of kindness, she wanted to ask if he needed help.
However, as soon as she got close, the man suddenly grabbed her and assaulted her.
She tried to struggle, but the difference in strength between men and women was too great. She had no chance to resist.
Her first time was taken in such a miserable way by a stranger.
She was terrified, trembling all over, but no matter how much she begged, the man acted as if he couldn't hear her and kept going.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore and fell asleep in the man's arms.
When she woke up, the space beside her was empty, but the hotel room door was suddenly kicked open.
What happened next could only be described as surreal.
Because the woman who stormed in angrily looked exactly like her.
She recognized her almost immediately—it was her twin sister Sabrina.
But before she could express her joy at their reunion, Sabrina rushed over and slapped her hard across the face.
She had no idea what was happening before Sabrina took her away and locked her up.
From that day on, Sabrina would tell her every day that she had ruined her life and destroyed all her dreams.
Whenever Sabrina encountered something unpleasant, she would come and beat and scold her to vent.
Over eight years, her body was covered with countless wounds, old and new, crisscrossing each other.
Three months after being locked up, she discovered she was pregnant. Her belly grew day by day and couldn't be hidden.
When Sabrina found out, she went crazy and punched and kicked her.
But somehow the baby stayed safely in her belly.
Later, Sabrina must have thought of some other way to torment her, because she finally stopped attacking the baby and even let her give birth.
When she gave birth, Sabrina personally delivered the baby.
Afterward, she didn't even get to see the child before Sabrina said the baby had died.
She never believed it. Her child had been so healthy. When the baby was in her belly, she could clearly feel the movements.
But no matter how much she begged Sabrina, Sabrina remained unmoved.
She knew Sabrina was taking revenge on her.
Back then, Alaric hadn't been drunk at all—he'd been drugged, and the person who drugged him was Sabrina.
Sabrina had told her that she'd had a crush on Alaric for many years, and she was just one step away from possibly being with him.
The White family had always been responsible and valued relationships.
If Alaric really had slept with Sabrina, he definitely wouldn't have abandoned her.
But Odette's appearance shattered everything.
Odette slowly pulled a cold smile and said mockingly, "Eight years ago, Alaric never gave you a second glance. Do you think you can succeed now?"
"Shut up!" Odette's words hit Sabrina's sore spot, and her expression immediately became twisted.
"Then we'll see." Odette scoffed and slowly closed her eyes, looking like she didn't want to talk anymore.
Sabrina was furious and slammed the door as she left.
Fine, they'd see. Tomorrow, she'd show Odette whether or not she had what it took to seduce Alaric.
Alaric had no idea someone was scheming about him. He was about to board a plane to Harmony City when he suddenly sneezed.
Chase, behind him, asked worriedly, "Mr. White, are you okay?"
Alaric waved his hand dismissively. "I'm fine, probably just caught a cold."
They were originally supposed to fly to Harmony City tomorrow, but to surprise Benjamin and Sophia, they'd changed their plans.
