Chapter 546: Alaric Has a Son?
A few hours later, the plane slowly came to a stop at the airport.
The car Chase had arranged in advance was waiting outside the airport. Chase and Alaric got in and headed to the villa where Benjamin and Sophia lived.
Alaric didn't feel comfortable leaving Emilio at home, so he brought him along.
Little Emilio pressed against the car window, curiously watching the night scenery outside, focused and serious.
While handling documents, Alaric would occasionally glance at Emilio, his eyes suddenly becoming gentle.
Just then, the car suddenly braked hard. Both Alaric and Emilio were caught off guard, their bodies lurching forward.
Emilio squeezed his eyes shut in fear, thinking he would fall off the seat. At that moment, a warm and strong arm pulled him into an embrace.
He carefully opened his eyes and met Alaric's worried gaze.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Emilio slowly shook his head, his voice soft and obedient. "No."
Alaric let out a huge sigh of relief. Right now, Emilio was the family's treasure. If anything happened to him, Preston would definitely beat him up.
He looked at Chase, his tone cold. "What kind of driving was that?"
"Mr. White, a car suddenly rushed out in front of us. I didn't notice it." Chase felt completely wronged. He had been driving perfectly fine when a car suddenly appeared.
"Well, get out and check!" Alaric was so angry that veins bulged at his temples.
Chase laughed awkwardly and quickly got out of the car.
The driver of the other car had also gotten out—a fashionably dressed, young, pretty woman.
"How do you drive? You damaged my car!"
Chase looked at the two cars that hadn't even touched, clearly still a fist's distance apart. He was speechless.
If you're going to scam someone, at least be professional about it.
Could there be a more fake scam than this?
"Since you think we hit your car, let's call the police and let them handle it." Chase had dealt with this kind of thing often when he worked for Benjamin before.
Although Benjamin used to be frail, he was handsome and rich, so many women tried to get close to him.
Those women came up with all sorts of strange and unusual methods.
In recent years, since Benjamin got married, fewer women have actively approached him. Now that this familiar routine was happening again, Chase felt a bit rusty.
Although this might really just be an accident, it didn't stop him from handling it skillfully.
Sabrina had prepared a whole speech but hadn't had a chance to say it.
Why wasn't this going at all as she'd planned?
A few hours ago, she'd received word that Alaric's schedule had moved up, so she immediately staked out this road.
She wanted to prepare a special encounter for Alaric, to make him remember her.
She just never expected that Alaric wouldn't even get out of the car, and would immediately threaten to call the police.
She bit her lip secretly and rushed to the back seat in a few quick steps, knocking on the window. "Get out. You hit my car, and now you want to play dead?"
Alaric, sitting in the car, frowned slightly and slowly lowered the window.
He saw Sabrina's face at a glance and froze for a moment. His expression immediately darkened.
He pulled out a bank card from his pocket and handed it over. "Is this money enough?"
Scammers just want money, and money was the one thing he had plenty of.
Sabrina was speechless.
She was starting to doubt reality. She could hardly believe her eyes. The Alaric in her memory was a gentle, gentlemanly man. This person in front of her was way too arrogant!
"I don't want money. Your car hit my car, you have to take responsibility!"
Alaric's gaze fell on Sabrina's face, and he couldn't help but laugh coldly. "Miss, you're the one who didn't follow traffic rules and suddenly rushed out. Even if we call the police, we're in the right. Take responsibility?"
Sabrina bit her lip hard, saying nothing.
She knew she'd been too impulsive, but she'd been waiting for this moment for eight whole years. She didn't want to wait anymore.
Actually, over these eight years, she'd tried countless times to run into Alaric by chance.
But somehow, it was like Alaric couldn't remember her at all, and every time they just missed each other.
And now she'd messed up this meeting too.
Just then, a fluffy little head suddenly popped out from behind Alaric. "Daddy, why does she want you to take responsibility? Does she like you?"
Alaric's face turned serious as he warned him. "Don't talk nonsense."
Emilio stuck out his tongue. He blinked innocently. "But Great-grandpa said if a woman keeps pestering you, it means she's interested in you and wants to be my stepmother."
Alaric rubbed his forehead helplessly. Why was Preston telling Emilio everything?
Preston was corrupting Emilio.
"You won't have a stepmother anytime soon, don't worry about it," Alaric said in a low voice to comfort him.
He wasn't interested in women right now, especially... he'd seen this woman before.
That day, Benjamin had specifically sent him a photo, saying this woman looked a lot like Emilio.
Looking at just her face, they did look quite similar.
But for some reason, there was a voice in his heart saying: something's not right.
Exactly what wasn't right, he couldn't say.
Maybe he just felt that he couldn't possibly have had sex with such a scheming woman?
He looked deeply at Sabrina, forcefully stuffing the bank card into her hand. "Do you want to take the money and leave? Or should I call the police?"
Sabrina was still in shock and hadn't reacted yet when a bank card was shoved into her hand.
She stared at Emilio in disbelief, unable to believe her eyes.
Alaric had a son?
When did this happen?
Why didn't she know anything about it?
What was going on?
