Chapter 511: Large Leg Pendant
Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "Isn't the bonus I give him highly enough?"
Looking across the entire Silverlight City, or even the whole country, there was no assistant with a higher salary and bonus than Chase.
Sophia laughed. "How is that the same? Chase practically handles every aspect of your life. Doesn't he deserve to earn more?"
Benjamin silently ground his teeth, lowered his head, and bit her earlobe as if punishing her.
"On our wedding night, I don't want to hear any other man's name."
The spot he touched felt like an electric current had passed through it, instantly spreading throughout her body.
Sophia couldn't help but gasp.
Seeing her reaction, Benjamin chuckled softly.
He carried her straight back to the bedroom and gently placed her on the bed.
Then he pinned down Sophia's hands.
"What are you doing now?"
Benjamin's voice was extremely hoarse. "Honey, it's already been past three months."
No sex during the first three months of pregnancy, but now it was okay.
He had been waiting for this day for a very long time.
Sophia quickly reached out and pressed against his chest.
"Wait, I have something to tell you real quick."
Benjamin tugged at the tie around his neck, the veins at his temple bulging from restraint.
"Whatever it is can wait until tomorrow."
"No, it's important."
Benjamin took a deep breath and had to stop, his eyes full of frustrated desire. "Go ahead."
"I might need to go to Harmony City tomorrow."
"Why?" Benjamin looked up in surprise.
"Francis called me yesterday, saying he's sick. He seems to be seriously ill and wants me to perform surgery on him."
Sophia felt a bit guilty about this.
Because they had agreed that after the wedding, they would go on their honeymoon.
They hadn't had time alone together in a long time.
Too much had happened recently. They had spent a lot of energy trying to find the real culprit behind the GeneCipher Society.
Later, she was taken away by Lachlan, and they were separated for a long time again.
So this time, Sophia had no confidence at all, afraid that Benjamin would be angry.
But Francis was her mentor and also a good friend.
Back at Oasis University, Francis had helped her a lot and taught her a lot. She absolutely couldn't ignore Francis.
The director of Harmony Hospital had also called her, saying Francis had been admitted to the hospital.
Francis's surgery should be done as soon as possible.
Benjamin was silent for a long time. Sophia couldn't figure out what he was thinking and felt a bit nervous.
However, Benjamin only asked, "Are all the other doctors useless? Why does it have to be you?"
"Francis's condition is quite special, and many doctors at Harmony Hospital have gone abroad for training, so there aren't many people available."
Benjamin buried his face in Sophia's shoulder. "Can you not go? You're pregnant now and need to rest at home."
Sophia said unhappily, "Don't you love me anymore? It's only the first day after our wedding, and all those things you said before don't count anymore?"
Benjamin had said he would go along with everything she wanted.
Those were all lies.
Benjamin was amused by her argument. "Don't mix things up. Whether you want to work or save people, when have I ever stopped you?"
That was true.
Sophia reached out and gently tugged at his sleeve, her movements careful and pleading.
"So do you agree or not?"
Being coaxed like this, Benjamin's hard heart softened.
He nodded in compromise. "I can agree, but I must come with you."
Wherever they went, they couldn't be separated.
Sophia teased him with a smile. "Mr. White, you're like a big accessory now. I have to take you wherever I go."
Benjamin nodded in agreement. "That's a very accurate description. I wish I could stick to you twenty-four hours a day."
Sophia blinked, deliberately teasing him. "People say couples shouldn't always stick together, or they'll lose their freshness. Distance creates beauty."
Benjamin suddenly smiled. His muscular waist moved. "What about negative distance... does that count?"
Sophia: "..."
Sophia was about to scold him for being shameless, but as soon as her lips parted, he blocked them.
Her mind gradually went blank, her body floating and sinking like drifting on the sea.
She had no extra energy to think about anything else, her body melting into a puddle.
However, halfway through their lovemaking, someone suddenly knocked on the bedroom door.
They both froze, then looked towards the door.
The veins on Benjamin's forehead bulged as he roared at the person outside. "Get lost."
The knocking stopped immediately.
After a while, the knocking started again.
Sophia's flushed face turned pale. She pushed against Benjamin's chest. "Get up first."
The servants at Maple Grove Villas had undergone special training.
Unless it was something very urgent, they would never knock on the master's door in the middle of the night.
Benjamin reluctantly got up, his deep eyes full of murderous intent.
He first helped Sophia get dressed before putting on his own bathrobe and getting out of bed to open the door.
When the door opened, it was indeed a servant outside.
The servant looked anxious, he's eyes full of fear.
When the servant met Benjamin's murderous gaze, their shoulders trembled violently.
Benjamin's voice was hoarse and cold. "This better be very important."
The servant quickly stated, "Mr. Benjamin White, something terrible has happened. Mr. Magnus White called to say that... Elijah escaped while being transported to Harmony City!"
