Chapter 36 This Is Deep Love
Chase couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Sophia walk away, feeling a silent admiration bubble up inside him.
Not many people dared to call Benjamin by his full name, especially with that kind of anger.
The White Group was the top financial powerhouse in all of Silverlight City.
The White Family's influence was unmatched, even among the country's elite.
Ordinary folks wouldn't dream of provoking Benjamin.
The consequences of his anger were too much for them to handle.
It was clear how much Sophia meant to Benjamin.
Who would have thought that the usually cold and decisive Benjamin would have a day when his heart was moved?
As Chase left the CEO's office, he ran into Eldon Soto in the elevator.
Eldon, like Chase, was one of Benjamin's special assistants.
They had been with Benjamin for seven or eight years.
They had followed him from his early days at the company, when he had no support, to now, when everyone respected him. They were not only his right-hand men but also his most trusted confidants.
Chase glanced at Eldon and said in a low voice, "Mrs. White is in Mr. White's office."
Eldon's face didn't change. "Yeah, I know."
Eldon was naturally aloof and not great at small talk.
He was a man of few words and decisive actions.
Chase didn't mind Eldon's cold demeanor and quickly added, "You know, the boss has been different since he got married..."
Eldon kept his indifferent expression, raising an eyebrow as if to ask, "How so?"
A knowing smile spread across Chase's lips. He winked at Eldon and whispered, "He was late this morning."
Eldon asked, "And?"
Chase continued, "And he brought in two big bags of candy. This month, the whole White Group is getting double bonuses. Mr. White said so himself."
Seeing Eldon's confusion, Chase explained, "Think about it. When has Mr. White ever cared about little things like giving out candy? It must've been Mrs. White's idea!"
What did this mean?
It showed that Benjamin listened to Sophia!
It indirectly proved that Benjamin was deeply in love with Sophia.
Was this ordinary candy?
No!
It was clearly Benjamin's deep affection for Sophia!
Eldon glanced at Chase's excited expression, his lips twitching slightly.
Chase looked like a die-hard fan of the Sophia and Benjamin couple.
At that moment, the elevator doors opened.
Eldon stepped out, leaving behind a parting shot. "Read fewer romance novels. They mess with your head."
Chase was speechless.
'I kindly share this good news with you, and you call me dumb?' Chase thought.
He snorted and decided not to argue with Eldon.
Thinking about the bonus, Chase began to silently plan how to use the money.
After the meeting, Benjamin walked out of the conference room, ready to return to his office, when he ran into Chase.
"Mr. White."
Benjamin acknowledged him with a cool voice, "Is everything done? Where's Sophia?"
Chase quickly replied, "Mrs. White thought the room was too stuffy and wanted to take a walk. She's probably wandering downstairs now."
Benjamin nodded and was about to leave when a hand blocked his way.
Benjamin's eyes narrowed, a hint of menace flashing in them.
Chase's eyelid twitched. He glanced at the passing employees and pulled Benjamin into a corner.
After making sure no one was around, he whispered in Benjamin's ear, "Mr. White, Mrs. White is mad at you."
Benjamin frowned, puzzled. "Why?"
Why would she be mad?
Chase pointed to his own hair, and Benjamin immediately understood.
He coughed lightly, suddenly remembering the prank before the meeting.
He had been unable to resist the urge to mess with Sophia's soft, fluffy hair, finding it irresistibly endearing.
When he came to his senses, he realized he had messed up her hair without meaning to.
Feeling guilty, he had quickly left, not expecting Chase to notice.
Benjamin's mind flashed to Sophia's angry, embarrassed face, hiding away with a flushed expression, bringing a rare smile to his eyes.
He hesitantly asked Chase, "What should I do?"
Chase motioned for Benjamin to come closer and excitedly whispered a plan, looking more thrilled than if it were his own romantic situation.
Benjamin listened, frowning, "Are you sure?"
Chase grinned mysteriously, patting his chest in assurance, "Trust me, Mr. White! That's how it's written in books!"
When the main characters had a little misunderstanding, one side needed to compromise to heat up the relationship.
That was how it was written in books!
As for why Benjamin should be the one to compromise, well, Chase had always favored the female lead!
No way would he let the female lead suffer!
Benjamin looked skeptical but nonchalantly straightened his slightly wrinkled suit and headed towards the elevator. "Let's find Sophia."
Chase had a knowing look and quickly followed, "Mr. White, your marriage news is trending. Many magazines have called to confirm. Should we take it down?"
Benjamin was momentarily surprised but then understood, considering the White Group's influence.
Benjamin replied, "No need for now. Keep an eye on the stock market. Report any fluctuations immediately."
He hadn't intended to hide his marriage, or he wouldn't have brought Sophia to the company.
Online, the news of Benjamin's marriage quickly shot to the top of social media trends and even made the front pages of major media outlets.
As the heir to the White Group, Benjamin had always been in the spotlight. Everyone knew Benjamin was frail yet he managed the entire White Group.
Despite his weak health, countless women had tried to catch his eye.
But none had ever succeeded.
Instead, those who tried to seduce Benjamin met miserable ends.
So, everyone gradually assumed Benjamin was uninterested in women, even speculating he had some condition that made him avoid them.
They thought Benjamin would never settle down with any woman, but today, news of his marriage broke out.
Everyone was speculating about the authenticity of the trending news and who the woman, who managed to marry Benjamin.
The internet was abuzz with heated discussions.
This news quickly caught the attention of the Brown Family.
At the Brown Villa, Isabella sat on the couch, with Olivia chattering beside her.
