Chapter 313 Bastard, It's Time to Throw Away!

Chapter 315 Waking Up in His Arms

Chase quietly glanced at Finnley's expression. Seeing him remain silent, he couldn't help but say, "Mr. White, if you still doubt your identity, then you'll have to go find Preston for a paternity test."

"Not necessary for now." Finnley turned off the iPad and handed it back to Chase along with his phone.

That organization was everywhere. If they noticed him getting a paternity test, the organization's people would definitely find out.

Then the White family would be in danger.

"Mr. White, I've prepared something good for you." Chase suddenly leaned over mysteriously.

Finnley pushed him away with a look of disgust, "Just say what you want to say, don't get so close."

Rejected by Finnley, Chase looked hurt.

He took out a box from the back seat and slowly opened it in front of Finnley.

"Mr. White, I carefully selected this for you. A household essential... keyboard. The seller even thoughtfully included a pair of knee pads. Remember to wear them when you kneel, or you probably won't be able to get out of bed the next day."

Looking at the keyboard and black knee pads in Chase's hands, Finnley's lips couldn't help but twitch.

"Are you really my assistant?"

Not someone specially sent by a rival to mess with him?

Chase said righteously, "I used to be, but now I'm Mr. Alaric White's assistant. Take them, and good luck."

Finnley: "......"

Finnley took the keyboard and got out of the car.

Before leaving, he instructed, "Remember to keep tonight's events confidential."

"Can't tell Mrs. White either?"

"That's right."

With that, Finnley walked into the villa without looking back.

However, what he didn't know was that Chase immediately told Alaric about this.

Alaric had said that whatever Benjamin did, he had to be informed right away.

His boss now was Alaric. Whoever paid his salary, that's who he listened to.

Chase showed a sleazy smile. Sorry, Benjamin!

This month's bonus was as good as his!

The "betrayed" Finnley returned to his room. Looking at the petite sleeping figure on the bed, he couldn't help but feel a pang of heartache.

Although there was no concrete evidence yet, he was very likely Benjamin.

So, had all the suffering Sophia endured these past two years been caused by him?

Finnley walked to the bedside and sat down. He gently smoothed Sophia's furrowed brow with his fingertips, his heart full of bitterness.

"I'm sorry..."

Sophia, who was sleeping, suddenly moved and unconsciously reached out to tightly hold his arm, though she didn't wake up.

This seemed more like an unconscious, habitual action.

Finnley gently took off his shoes and lay down on the bed, letting Sophia hold him tightly.

He lay on his side next to Sophia, his other hand gently stroking her hair, silently comforting her.

Perhaps sensing a familiar presence, Sophia nuzzled her cheek against his chest and fell into a deep sleep until morning.

When she woke up, she found herself in Finnley's arms.

Last night's events suddenly flooded her mind. Sophia pouted unhappily and withdrew the hand that was around his waist.

She held grudges!

Finnley was a light sleeper. He woke up as soon as Sophia moved.

Feeling the softness in his arms disappear, a sense of loss flashed through Finnley's heart as he slowly opened his eyes.

"Awake?"

Finnley's voice carried the deep, husky tone of just waking up, with an indescribable magnetism that made one's ears tingle.

Sophia rubbed her ears and deliberately asked with a straight face, "Didn't you like sleeping on the sofa? Why are you sleeping here?"

Finnley's lips curved slightly, "Last night, I don't know who it was, but someone held onto me and wouldn't let go."

Sophia's cheeks flushed red, and she stubbornly said, "Who... who held onto you and wouldn't let go?"

It wasn't her anyway!

"It wasn't you, it was me shamelessly holding onto you and not letting go."

Sophia snorted lightly. That's more like it.

Finnley smiled helplessly and leaned lazily against the bed, saying leisurely, "The bed is still more comfortable."

Although the sofa was soft to sit on, with his height, he couldn't stretch out at all. His legs had to stay curled up.

When he woke up the next day, his legs were numb.

"You chose it yourself, so you have to deal with it." Sophia glared at him and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Looking at her slender figure, Finnley's lips curved up, his eyes full of smiles.

Just then, his phone on the bed suddenly vibrated.

Finnley picked it up and glanced at it, his expression immediately darkening.

He looked toward the bathroom, got up, and walked to the balcony, closing the glass door before calling the person back.

Before he could speak, the person on the other end said angrily, "Finnley, who told you to go to the White Manor? Why didn't you follow instructions?"

"You have people watching me?" Finnley's expression turned cold, a bloodthirsty killing intent flashing in his eyes.

Elijah was caught off guard by his counter-question and suddenly choked, his momentum weakening, "Those people were sent to protect your safety, not to monitor you."

Finnley sneered, "Do you think I'm a three-year-old child? I'm warning you, pull those people back, or don't blame me for being rude."

Elijah was quite angry and asked sternly, "You still haven't told me why you went to the White Manor. Didn't I already say that you just need to get close to Sophia, and once she lets her guard down around you, bring her back?"

Finnley: "It's not your place to question how I do things."

"You!" Elijah's face turned pale with anger.

He didn't expect that even with amnesia, his pride couldn't be worn down.

Finnley warned, "This is the first time and the last time. If I see anyone monitoring me again... you should know my temper."

Elijah wasn't backing down either, coldly questioning, "What? Are you planning to openly oppose the organization for Sophia?"

Finnley sneered, his expression cold and indifferent, radiating an aura of authority, sinister and ruthless, "Why not?"

Elijah's heart suddenly surged with shock, his face turning pale, "Are you crazy? Finnley, don't forget who gave you your life."

"It certainly wasn't you anyway." Finnley narrowed his eyes and decisively hung up the phone.

He casually turned around, but suddenly saw someone standing not far behind him.

Meeting Sophia's clear, bright eyes, Finnley's heart jumped.

His mind went completely blank. He opened his mouth but couldn't say anything.

How much had Sophia heard?

Outside the glass door, Sophia blinked and pointed toward the door, "Hurry up and wash up. Grandpa came to tell us to come down for breakfast."

Finnley was stunned, then slowly came to his senses.

He nodded slightly, put his phone in his pocket, and acted as if nothing had happened as he opened the glass door.

He walked up to Sophia and asked casually, "When did you come out?"

"Just now. Why? Afraid I was eavesdropping on your call? It wasn't some woman calling you, was it?" Sophia blinked, her eyes full of teasing.

Finnley shook his head in denial, "No."

"That's enough then. Let's go." Sophia took Finnley's hand and pulled him downstairs.
