Chapter 272 Watching a Movie
Benjamin's villa wasn't far from the Smith Villa, about a ten-minute drive.
This was a newly developed property in the city center, so the prices weren't cheap.
The properties here had already sold out, but Benjamin had sent Eldon to buy one at a premium.
After getting out of the car, Benjamin took the shopping bags from the car. Sophia wanted to help, but he dodged away, "I can handle it myself. You go inside first and see if you like how it's decorated."
Sophia had no choice but to head inside.
The moment she stepped into the villa, she froze, because the living room's decoration and layout were incredibly familiar.
Their new home in Silverlight City was almost identical to this place.
Benjamin set the two large bags on the table. He put all the fruits, vegetables, and meat into the fridge, then took out the household items separately and carried them into the bedroom.
Sophia followed him upstairs and discovered that not only the living room, but even the bedroom's decorating style was exactly the same as their home.
"Did you arrange all this?" Sophia's mouth dropped open in surprise. Everything was the same except for the painting on the wall.
The painting at home was a famous work by a certain art master, the only one of its kind in the world.
The painting hanging in this room now was another work by the same art master, also in a style Sophia liked.
Benjamin arranged everything neatly, gave a sound of acknowledgment, then sat on the sofa, patted the spot beside him, and looked up at Sophia.
"Come sit."
Sophia walked over curiously, and as soon as she sat down, he pulled her into his arms.
"Ernest, can he really still be saved?" Benjamin asked.
"Yes." Sophia's tone was firm and serious, making it hard not to believe her. "It's just a bit tricky to solve, but this incident has made me more certain of one thing."
"What?"
"That sample was definitely tampered with. Including me, there are only five people in the lab."
So one of them must have connections to that organization.
If there's a connection, there must be traces.
"Have you guessed who it is?" Benjamin raised an eyebrow, reaching out to pull Sophia into his arms.
Sophia rested her head on Benjamin's shoulder, her expression somewhat serious. "Not yet. I believe that given Alaric's feelings for you, he would never do anything to hurt you; Hannah is closest to me, but she's so carefree, she can't hide anything; Aurora is our senior, very gentle, and very good to me too; Steven is good friends with Alaric, and his personality is also straightforward..."
After analyzing everyone, she still couldn't reach any conclusion, and Sophia felt somewhat defeated.
"If you can't figure it out, don't think about it. Since that organization has already started making moves, it means they can't wait any longer. So we just need to wait and see what happens." Benjamin consoled her softly.
"You're right."
The only thing they could do now was wait.
Benjamin rubbed the top of her head and coaxed, "You've had a long day. Get some good rest."
With that, Benjamin left the bedroom.
The study was still quite empty. Many books weren't convenient to move here, so the bookshelves were mostly bare.
Benjamin opened his computer and started a video conference.
By the time he finished, it was already evening.
Sophia had taken a comfortable afternoon nap, then got up and took a bath before starting to unpack her suitcase.
When she came to Harmony City, she hadn't expected to run into so many problems, so she'd only brought a few changes of clothes.
She took out the clothes one by one, preparing to hang them in the closet, and accidentally knocked out a small item as she stood up.
Sophia bent down to pick it up and found it was a silver-white USB drive.
It seemed to be from Joshua, who said it was a wedding gift and acted all mysterious about it.
She finished organizing her clothes, put the suitcase in the bottom compartment of the closet, right next to Benjamin's suitcase.
One large and one small, one blue and one pink suitcase, they looked quite matching.
The corners of Sophia's lips curved up slightly. Then she took out her computer and inserted the USB drive, wanting to see what was on it.
Opening the files, she found they were all videos.
Sophia looked confused, not understanding what Joshua meant.
Could he be trying to recommend some good movies to her? Joshua used to recommend good movies to her before.
So Sophia didn't think much of it.
Curious, she clicked on the first video, which was about an hour long, an all-English movie.
Her fair fingertip pressed pause, and she ran downstairs in her slippers to grab several packages of snacks from the plastic bag.
Watching a movie without snacks? How could that be?
Unfortunately, the villa's media room didn't seem to be set up yet, and she couldn't even find a projector.
She could only watch on the computer, which instantly lowered the experience.
Still, any movie Joshua recommended must be excellent.
Sophia placed the computer on her lap, leaned back lazily on the sofa, her fair little feet swinging with pleasure.
But soon, Sophia began to feel drowsy.
This movie was really... too boring, nothing but ridiculous love-hate drama between the male and female leads.
The male lead was a playboy rich kid, cynical and carefree. By chance, he met the innocent female lead, and was attracted by her kindness and stubbornness, eventually falling head over heels.
Sophia could almost imagine what would happen next between them - a series of misunderstandings, missed chances, physical and emotional torture, and finally a happy ending.
She really couldn't understand why Joshua would recommend this kind of movie to her.
But just then, the screen suddenly froze, and the display went black for several seconds.
Sophia thought there was a problem with the computer and slowly sat up straight, preparing to check it out.
But the next second, the screen suddenly lit up again, and this time, two naked bodies appeared on the computer screen, tangled together.
The man's large frame pressed the woman beneath him, and heavy breathing and moans filled her ears, making her blush.
Before Sophia could react, she was stunned by what was playing on the screen.
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Benjamin walked in from outside.
Sophia instantly snapped to attention. With lightning speed, she shut the computer and looked at him nervously.
Benjamin walked in and saw Sophia's guarded expression, looking somewhat puzzled. "What happened?"
"Nothing! You, you walk so quietly? You scared me!" Sophia's first words were complaints, trying to divert Benjamin's attention elsewhere.
However, Benjamin didn't fall for it. Instead, he walked toward Sophia with steady steps.
Benjamin's footsteps were firm, his tall figure approaching step by step, bringing a strong sense of pressure.
