Chapter 244 Designing a Wedding Dress
Sophia walked over in surprise, "Matthew, what are you doing here?"
"I asked him to come." Benjamin said calmly, pulling Sophia to sit beside him. He murmured softly, "Alaric already told me about what happened this afternoon."
Sophia held his hand back, feeling a bit anxious. "Honey, have you really thought this through? The detox might use up a lot of your blood."
"I'm not afraid." Benjamin reached out his other hand and pulled Sophia into his arms, his chin gently rubbing against the top of her head. "Sophia, you saved my life. Without you, what future would I have? So it's just some blood, it's nothing."
So don't feel any guilt about it.
Sophia pressed her lips together and nodded slowly.
"Sophia, let me see the lab report." Matthew suddenly spoke up.
Sophia immediately lifted her head from Benjamin's embrace, took the report from her bag, and handed it to Matthew.
Matthew flipped through it, and his tightly furrowed brow gradually relaxed. "It will indeed work."
Then he turned his gaze to Benjamin. "Have you really thought this through?"
"Yes." Benjamin nodded without hesitation, his eyes showing firm determination.
Preston didn't say a word.
This was the young people's business. He was old and couldn't manage so much anymore.
Besides, Benjamin wasn't someone who took orders anyway. Even if he disagreed, it wouldn't matter.
Let them be.
He would just enjoy life now. Everything else... let them worry about it themselves.
Besides, this was what Benjamin owed Sophia, and he had to pay it back eventually.
Matthew hadn't expected Benjamin's attitude to be so resolute.
He was stunned for a moment, then chuckled. "Alright then. Before going to the Smith Villa, get ready as soon as possible. I don't trust that lab at Stellar University. Go to my company instead."
The Lumina Group had a lab that belonged exclusively to Sophia.
Many of the Lumina Group's pharmaceutical products were developed in that lab.
And that place was highly classified. Without proper clearance, ordinary people couldn't get in at all.
Sophia had specially reinforced the security system. Even the country's top hackers might not be able to break through it.
That place was much safer.
Sophia and Benjamin had no objections and agreed right away.
Once Sophia prepared everything she needed, she began drawing Benjamin's blood.
The first time, she didn't draw much, only 300 milliliters.
Sophia didn't drink it directly. Instead, she extracted the components from the blood and developed it into a medicine.
This way, she could efficiently remove the toxins from her body while ensuring not a single drop of blood was wasted.
While Sophia was doing her research, Benjamin stayed by her side the whole time.
Only the two of them were in the lab, and it was incredibly quiet.
Benjamin sat on the sofa handling documents on his computer, occasionally looking up to glance in Sophia's direction.
Her expression was focused and serious, as if once she immersed herself in her work, nothing else existed.
Sophia's clear eyes seemed to radiate a brilliant and dazzling light that was impossible to look away from.
Benjamin just watched her, lost in thought.
His Sophia was even more outstanding than he had imagined.
She deserved all the best things in this world.
Benjamin thought silently to himself, then sent a message to Chase. "Help me contact the designer Ollie and ask if they can design a wedding dress."
Chase quickly replied: "Mr. White, are you and Mrs. White having a wedding?"
Benjamin: "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. Just do it."
Chase: "Okay! I'll do it right away."
After two days and nights of almost non-stop research, Sophia finally developed the sample.
However, the poison in her body was too special, and there was no way to do clinical trials.
Alaric walked in and helped Sophia.
Matthew and Joshua also pushed aside all their work.
Sophia put down the data report. Because she hadn't rested for so long, her eyes were already bloodshot.
There were also dark circles under her eyelids.
Her skin was very fair, so the dark circles were especially noticeable.
But right now, she couldn't care about anything else. She said to everyone in the lab, "Now there's good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?"
"The good news." Alaric answered without thinking.
Sophia slowly let out a breath and pointed to the documents on the table. "The good news is that the sample was successfully created."
Everyone's faces showed excitement.
Although they were usually serious and not good with words, at this moment, they couldn't help but smile.
Especially Matthew.
When Sophia had given the medicine to Benjamin before, it had really upset him.
During this time, he had been having people search for those medicines again.
Now that things finally had some progress, no matter what, it was good news for him.
Benjamin was obviously calmer than them. His thin lips parted slightly. "What's the bad news?"
Sophia looked at him and bit her lip. "The bad news is that because we haven't done clinical trials, I'm not sure if there will be side effects."
Theoretically, this medicine shouldn't have any side effects, but Sophia didn't dare guarantee it 100%.
At these words, everyone present fell silent.
"If we do clinical trials, how much longer will it take?"
"About half a month."
Benjamin sat on the sofa, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest, his expression dark and unreadable, no one knew what he was thinking.
After a moment of silence, Matthew spoke first. "Safety first. Other things can be pushed back. Worst case, just don't go to Harmony City for now."
To be honest, Matthew didn't really want Sophia to go to the Smith Villa anyway.
The Smith family and the Brown family hadn't been in contact for so many years, and now they suddenly appeared. It was naturally uncomfortable.
Sophia was raised by Robert and his fellow disciples. The Smith family hadn't contributed anything.
Now that Sophia had grown up, they wanted to claim her back.
Who could accept that?
Alaric nodded. "That's the only option for now."
No matter what happened, Sophia's safety had to come first.
Everyone quickly reached an agreement on this matter.
So Tyrell soon received the news that Sophia was postponing her trip to Harmony City.
He was shocked and couldn't believe it.
He had pushed back several days of work to come to Silverlight City this time. Now it was almost time for him to go back.
He should be leaving.
He didn't expect something to come up on Sophia's end.
Would he get beaten up by Maddox and Xander when he got back?
Tyrell frantically imagined himself getting beaten up, and couldn't help but shudder.
However, Tyrell quickly learned what had happened and immediately said that Sophia's health was the most important thing. If it needed to be postponed, then postpone it.
He would explain things to Maddox and Xander.
