Chapter 243 One Hundred Percent
Benjamin lowered his eyes, holding Sophia's slender hand tightly, his fingertips gently rubbing over her ring finger where the diamond ring sat, his emotions unreadable.
"That would naturally be best, but my father wants Sophia to come stay at the Smith Villa for a while to bond with the family."
Preston nodded knowingly.
No wonder the Smith family was in such a hurry to visit - so that was their purpose?
"I really can't make that decision. How about this - as long as Sophia agrees, we the White family have no problem with it."
Since Preston had spoken, Tyrell immediately turned his gaze to Sophia.
With so many eyes on her, Sophia suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
After thinking for a moment, she said, "I really should visit the Smith Villa, but I need to finish what I'm working on first. I don't have time right now."
Tyrell's eyes dropped in disappointment, but he quickly recovered. "That's fine, there's no rush. The Smith Villa will always welcome you."
He reached out and ruffled Sophia's hair, his lips curving slightly. "The Smith family will always have your back, Sophia. We'll always be waiting for you to come home."
Though Tyrell's personality was a bit casual, he was completely serious and focused when saying this.
Sophia's eyes stung a little, and she nodded firmly. "I understand. Thank you."
After seeing Tyrell off, Sophia collapsed exhausted on the bed, not wanting to move at all.
Benjamin sat on the edge of the bed, watching her with a smile.
He slowly leaned down, moving close to Sophia.
They were extremely close, their breaths mingling. Sophia could clearly smell his fresh, clean scent.
She opened her eyes to meet his handsome face right in front of her, instinctively reaching up to wrap her arms around his neck.
"Honey."
Benjamin gently nuzzled Sophia's nose and asked, "Are you really going to the Smith Villa?"
"Of course. Even though I don't know Maddox well, I'm still the younger generation and should go visit him."
Before, she hadn't known about Maddox's existence, but now that she did, she couldn't pretend to be ignorant.
Besides, Tyrell had been really good to her.
"I'll go with you." Benjamin buried his face in Sophia's neck and nuzzled it, full of dependence and reluctance to part.
Sophia hugged him back, gently patting the back of his head.
She laughed softly. "What about the company? Just going to abandon it? You already left the company behind when you came with me to Vast Mountain."
Benjamin protested unhappily, "I didn't abandon it, I just had Chase manage it temporarily. I still participated in the important documents and meetings."
Handling work remotely was exhausting, but he didn't want to be separated from Sophia even more.
Not for a moment.
He just wanted to stay with Sophia all the time.
No matter when, no matter what happened.
Sophia gave in helplessly and agreed. "I won't leave until I finish the research data, so you still have time to wrap things up."
Over the next few days, they were both incredibly busy.
On one hand, they had to prepare for their wedding photos, and on the other, they had to deal with their work.
On the third evening, Sophia finally completed her research results.
She gripped the printed documents excitedly, her emotions hard to contain.
Aurora was the first to notice something unusual. She walked over and asked quietly, "Sophia, is something wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, I'm just a bit excited." A faint smile appeared on Sophia's face.
She was already delicate and beautiful, but at this moment she looked even more radiant and captivating.
Impossible to look away from.
Aurora snapped out of her daze and nodded with a light laugh. "That's good, that's good."
Steven and Hannah also looked up, their eyes full of curiosity as they looked at Sophia. "Sophia, what experiment have you been hiding from us? Being so secretive. It's been several days and you still won't let us know."
Alaric put down what he was holding and walked over.
When he saw the experimental data clearly, his usually unflappable face began to show some emotion.
He gripped the documents tightly, extremely excited. "Is this, is this real?"
Sophia nodded firmly, her eyes full of certainty and joy. "It's real."
"That's wonderful, just wonderful! There's finally hope for your poison!"
Alaric was incredibly excited, even more so than if he had made some major discovery himself.
He took out his phone from his pocket, ready to call Benjamin. "I'll tell Benjamin this good news right away."
Sophia turned her head to meet three pairs of curious eyes.
She explained quietly, "As you should know, the poison in my body and the toxin in Benjamin's body come from the same source. I think I've found the antidote now."
All she needed was Benjamin's blood, plus one medicinal ingredient, and that would be enough.
"Really? That's amazing!" Steven and Hannah echoed excitedly, even unconsciously hugging each other and spinning around happily.
When they came to their senses, they realized their actions seemed a bit inappropriate and quickly let go of each other.
Hannah's face instantly flushed red, and she quickly stepped back.
Steven also awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, looking a bit lost.
How did he... end up hugging Hannah?
Their strange behavior went unnoticed. Sophia and Alaric were discussing the data in the documents, while Aurora stood to the side smiling, her eyes lowered, lost in thought.
The more Alaric read, the more amazed he became.
This research report was simply beautiful, better than anything he could have done despite all his years studying medicine professionally.
Even knowing that Sophia was exceptionally capable in medicine, Alaric couldn't help but marvel inwardly.
You have to understand, Sophia was only twenty years old this year, and she had already developed various medicines to treat difficult conditions.
When Benjamin was poisoned before, the White family had invited major medical experts from home and abroad to treat him, but not one person could cure him completely.
Only Sophia could.
This was simply a miracle!
Alaric forced himself to calm down. "Sophia, how confident are you?"
"One hundred percent." Sophia said without hesitation.
Without absolute certainty, she would never use Benjamin as a test subject.
Hearing this, Alaric immediately felt relieved. With Sophia's word, he could rest easy.
On the other side, when Benjamin received Alaric's message, he was also very excited.
He also had an indescribable complexity of feelings.
He never expected that in the end, the one who could save Sophia would be himself.
If he had known, he would have gotten injured sooner, otherwise it wouldn't have been delayed so long, causing Sophia to endure the pain of the poison.
Either way, this was absolutely good news for them.
After thinking it over, Benjamin called Matthew.
Upon receiving the news, Matthew immediately canceled his meeting and rushed to the White Manor.
That evening when Sophia returned home from the lab, she found Matthew sitting on the sofa chatting with Preston.
