Chapter 219 Don't Act Spoiled, Ruin Your Image
Joshua suddenly stood up and waved to everyone, "Listen up, everyone. In three days, pack your things and take a flight back to Silverlight City for the costume fitting photo shoot."
"Three days? Isn't that too sudden?" Saskia couldn't help but ask.
The movie was already in its final stages. If it hadn't been for that rainstorm, filming would probably be finished by now.
At this point, the main characters had finished their scenes, leaving only the supporting male and female leads' parts.
If they were efficient enough, they could actually wrap up in two days.
During these two days, actors who finished filming could leave right away.
Two days later, the movie wrapped. Sophia packed her things, getting ready to head back.
She sat on the soft carpet, looking at Benjamin sitting upright on the sofa. "We're all leaving. What about this villa?"
Benjamin closed his phone and slowly turned to look at her. "Don't worry. Once the company's investment proposal is approved, this place will be developed into a tourist destination. By then, this villa and this land will all increase in value."
Either way, it was a safe investment.
Sophia trusted Benjamin's judgment and decided not to ask more questions.
Although the production team was covering expenses, Benjamin and Sophia still flew back on a private jet.
Hearing that Preston had already returned, the two went straight home after getting off the plane.
Preston was standing at the villa entrance, glancing into the distance from time to time, muttering, "Why aren't they back yet? Benjamin actually let my granddaughter-in-law go to such a dangerous place without stopping her. How terrible!"
Finn smiled beside him. "Mrs. White made the decision herself. Who could change her mind? Mr. Preston White, Mr. Benjamin White already reported they were safe and promised Mrs. White would return safely."
"You believe what he says? That poor, remote place - how could it be good?" Preston had his hands behind his back, his figure slightly hunched but still looking fairly robust.
Finn felt helpless and decided to stop talking.
For every sentence he said, Preston had ten waiting for him.
Soon, a black car slowly stopped in front of the villa. Sophia and Benjamin got out.
"Grandpa!" Sophia walked over first, a light smile on her face.
"Good that you're back, good that you're back!" Preston looked at Sophia, his eyes welling up. "You've lost weight. Benjamin must not have taken good care of you!"
Benjamin, who had just gotten out of the car and was already being scolded: "..."
He touched his nose, finding it amusing. "Grandpa, who's actually your real grandson?"
"What? You think I'm wrong?"
"I wouldn't dare. Grandpa, let's go inside. What's the point of standing at the door?" Benjamin changed the subject, helping Preston walk inside.
Just then, there was a sudden noise from the car.
Everyone paused and turned to look back, only to see Cillian pitifully pressed against the car window, his eyes full of resentment. "Did you guys forget about me? I have zero presence!"
Preston was stunned for a moment, then burst into hearty laughter. "How come you came back too?"
"Of course I finished filming! Grandpa, am I still your most beloved grandson? My huge head was pressed against the car window and you just ignored me." Cillian felt wronged. He hadn't expected that in less than three months, his status in this family had fallen so low.
Was this a moral decline or a distortion of human nature?
Preston patted his shoulder. "You've grown taller."
"Grandpa, I've also lost weight. Why don't you feel sorry for me?" Cillian clung to Preston's arm, acting cute.
Preston pushed him away with a look of disgust. "You're a grown man. So what if you lost a little weight? You're still that... what do you call it... idol! Last time on the phone, you told me your agent wanted you to manage your figure!"
Cillian, rejected by Preston once again: "..."
No love left!
He looked at Benjamin pitifully. Benjamin slowly looked away.
He then looked at Sophia.
Sophia stood on her tiptoes and gently patted Cillian's head. "Be good, don't act cute. It ruins your image."
Triple critical hit!
Cillian clutched his chest, heartbroken.
The other three were enjoying themselves while he was the only one hurt.
He missed Alaric terribly right now.
He looked upstairs and couldn't help but ask, "Grandpa, where's my mom? Where did she go?"
Usually, Amelia rarely went out. Every time he came home, she would come out very enthusiastically, pulling him aside to ask about his well-being.
Although he felt a bit uncomfortable with it, he knew Amelia cared about him.
But this time, he didn't see Amelia come out.
As soon as he finished speaking, the living room instantly fell silent, everyone's expressions changing.
Preston sighed heavily, his face looking rather unpleasant.
Benjamin also had a dark expression and said nothing.
Cillian finally realized something was wrong and shot Finn a questioning look.
Finn stood behind the sofa, bent down, and whispered in his ear, "Mrs. Amelia White went back to the Martinez Villa. Mr. Alaric White personally sent someone to take her back."
Cillian's eyes widened in shock. "What happened? How could this be?"
Finn sighed deeply, pursing his lips and refusing to reveal anything more.
Seeing them like this, Cillian understood everything.
He sighed silently, hugging a cushion, feeling a bit sad. "It's been so long. Why can't she just settle down?"
"I think we've been too indulgent with her, making her forget who she is! If it weren't for Sophia, your second brother probably wouldn't have survived until now." Preston's face was stern, his eyes full of weariness.
Cillian opened his mouth, too shocked to speak.
"Grandpa, you must have used up the calming medicine I gave you, right? I made some new ones. These work even better than before. I'll bring them over for you to try later." Sophia sensed the awkward atmosphere and immediately changed the subject.
Preston's attention was quickly drawn to the calming tea. He nodded with a smile. "Good. Sophia, your calming medicine really works well. Before I returned to the country, an old friend of mine kept pestering me to send him more."
The living room soon returned to its usual harmony. The topic of Amelia was brushed aside, and no one dared to bring it up again.
Early the next morning, Sophia quickly ate breakfast and headed to the filming location.
Cillian was still sleeping in, so Sophia went alone. When she arrived at the makeup room, she noticed many staff members looking at her with complicated expressions.
Before she could figure out what those looks meant, she discovered that her makeup room had been taken over by someone else.
She pushed the door open and found a group of people gathered around the mirror, saying flattering and polite things.
Through the mirror, Sophia saw the face clearly - it was Savannah, who played the fourth female lead.
Savannah had obviously seen Sophia too. She waved at the people around her, then stood up from the chair and looked at her with disdain. "Well, if it isn't our connection hire who got in through the back door. Why are you so late? Even Saskia, with her big star status, arrived early."
Savannah's face practically screamed mockery.
