Chapter 213 Pursuing Sophia
Looking at Sophia's alluring and graceful figure, Alvin felt a burning heat rising in his lower abdomen.
Because his attention was drawn to Sophia, he kept getting distracted during filming.
He messed up his lines several times.
"Cut!" Joshua impatiently sat up from his chair and yelled at Alvin, "Do you even know how to act? If you can't, then leave now and stop wasting our time!"
Alvin snapped back to reality and immediately apologized to Joshua, "Director, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Please give me one more chance, I'll definitely do better."
"You'd better. Everyone, get ready to shoot again." Joshua suppressed his anger and sat back down.
This time, Alvin didn't get distracted and smoothly delivered his lines, but Joshua still wasn't satisfied.
"Are you reciting a textbook? There's no emotion at all! You're an actor - where's your feeling?"
Alvin's face darkened as he was scolded, and he kept apologizing.
After all that trouble, a layer of cold sweat had formed on Alvin's forehead.
He wiped it awkwardly and looked up at Sophia.
To his surprise, Sophia maintained a calm expression the whole time, as if she was completely detached from it all, leaving him as the only laughingstock of the entire crew.
He gritted his teeth, feeling an inexplicable resentment rising within him.
Didn't Isabella say that Sophia had never acted before and her acting skills would definitely be terrible?
Before filming started, he had already imagined the scenario.
If Sophia got scolded by the director for poor acting, he would go over and comfort her.
Girls this age were most easily moved and prone to falling deeply in love.
Plus, his persona was that of a gentle, warm-hearted man, which easily won favor with this type of girl.
But who would have thought that the one getting scolded wasn't Sophia, but him?
"Last time. If it still doesn't work, we're replacing you!" Joshua's voice was full of irritation.
He'd been filming for several days now, and even the extras acted better than Alvin.
How did this guy even become a C-list celebrity?
Hearing this, Alvin's heart jumped. He immediately adjusted his state and finally passed on the last take.
During lunch, Sophia was eating with Cillian when a shadow suddenly fell over them.
She slowly looked up to see Alvin standing in front of her with a gentle smile on his face.
"Ms. Brown, may I join you for lunch?"
Before Sophia could respond, Cillian frowned, "There's plenty of empty space over there. No need to share a table, right?"
The smile on Alvin's face stiffened.
It was his first day on set and he didn't know many people, so there was really no need to share a table, but he had to seize the time to win Sophia's favor.
"Eating alone is so boring. I'd like to share a table with you and ask some questions about acting." Alvin smiled warmly.
Cillian's gaze lingered on his face for a moment, then reluctantly nodded, "If you want to sit, sit. Nobody's stopping you."
Alvin's heart leaped with joy, and he immediately sat down next to Sophia.
"Sophia, I heard this is your first time filming. Is that true?"
"Yes." Sophia nodded slowly.
First time filming didn't mean first time acting.
Sophia wasn't lying.
Alvin put on a surprised expression, "Your first time and you're already this good? You really have talent. What I envy most are naturally talented people like you, who can easily achieve what others work a hundred times harder to accomplish."
These words made Cillian uncomfortable. He put down his utensils and said seriously, "How do you know Sophia hasn't worked hard in private? She's my brother's wife. And if you resent acting this much, why are you even in this business?"
Alvin was stunned, not expecting such a strong reaction from Cillian.
Did he hear that right?
Sophia was already married? How was that possible? Why didn't Isabella tell him?
If Sophia was really married, why did Isabella send him to pursue her?
He opened his mouth and instinctively explained, "Cillian, you've misunderstood me. I'm not complaining about anyone, just feeling a bit sentimental. If what I said made you uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize."
This response was perfectly polite and gracious.
Even someone as spoiled and willful as Cillian couldn't find words to argue back.
He cleared his throat, glanced at Sophia, and his expression softened a bit, "It's fine, it's fine. Let's just eat."
After that exchange, Alvin didn't dare speak carelessly again.
He remained quiet throughout the rest of the meal.
It's okay, there's plenty of time ahead.
He'd eventually find opportunities to get close to Sophia.
After finishing filming that evening, Cillian ran up to Sophia and eagerly took the bag from her hands, "Let me carry it! You've worked hard all day!"
"Is it really that dramatic?" Sophia said with an amused smile, touching her forehead.
"Of course it is! If you get too tired, my second brother will definitely feel bad." Cillian winked at Sophia, his eyes full of teasing.
Thinking of Benjamin, Sophia's cheeks flushed slightly pink, and she gave him a playful glare, "So now you've learned to tease me?"
Cillian quickly waved his hands and ran off laughing, "I wouldn't dare!"
This time Alvin could no longer deceive himself.
Because this time, he heard it loud and clear.
What was going on?
Countless questions swirled in his mind with no one to answer them.
However, this didn't stop him from pursuing Sophia.
His behavior was too obvious, and soon the entire crew noticed something was off.
Alvin was being overly attentive to Sophia, constantly sending gifts and flowers.
Although Sophia rejected them all, he remained persistent.
Cillian, Joshua, and Sawyer all noticed the abnormality.
Joshua warned them, "Focus your attention on filming, don't mess around with unnecessary things."
During a break, Sawyer followed Alvin to the restroom.
Alvin took a phone call, and Sawyer stayed not far behind him, instinctively hiding when Alvin turned around.
Then he overheard a conversation.
"Didn't you say Sophia was just some woman from the countryside? Why is she so hard to deal with?"
"So far, you haven't kept any of your promises. How am I supposed to trust you?"
"I'm interested, sure, but there's always this annoying person around her. I haven't had time to make a move."
"Don't forget what you promised me."
After Alvin hung up, Sawyer emerged from the corner.
He hesitated for a moment, then walked into the restroom.
When Alvin saw him, he didn't think much of it and greeted him with a smile, "Sawyer."
"Alvin, are you pursuing Sophia?"
