Chapter 200 Jealous Again
The door was pushed open, and Remy walked in pushing a wheelchair. Isolde's face lit up with delight.
"Ms. Brown, you're finally awake!"
"Ms. Porter." Sophia reached out and pushed away the hand around her waist, greeting with a smile.
"Ms. Brown, I came specially to thank you. The doctor said if you hadn't handled it so quickly, my leg would probably be ruined." Isolde looked up, her eyes full of gratitude as she gazed at Sophia.
Besides that, Sophia also caught a hint of disappointment in those eyes.
Isolde gave a bitter smile, "I probably won't be able to film for a while. I worked so hard to get Joshua's project, but now..."
Remy lowered her eyes and sighed with regret, "We canceled our contract with Joshua a few days ago. Joshua is looking for someone new. The third female lead is such a likable role, it was practically made just for Isolde. What a shame... our Isolde wasn't meant to have this opportunity."
Sophia looked at them, not quite knowing how to comfort them.
She cleared her throat, "Ms. Porter, focus on recovering. There will be other opportunities in the future."
Isolde put on a smile again and nodded slowly, "You're right, there will be other opportunities! By the way, you can call me Isolde from now on. Can I call you Sophia?"
"Of course, Isolde." Sophia's lips curved slightly. Having rested enough, there wasn't a trace of fatigue on her face, making her smile even more radiant.
Isolde stared at her, completely mesmerized.
How could someone be this beautiful?
So beautiful it made one feel inferior, as if just seeing her smile was a kind of happiness.
Isolde's heart raced, feeling like she was about to fall for her.
She stared blankly and blurted out her thoughts, "Sophia, you're really so beautiful. If I were a man, I would definitely pursue you."
Benjamin: "?"
Men were one thing, but now there was a woman competing with him for Sophia too?
Benjamin immediately pulled Sophia into his arms, staring at Isolde with unfriendly eyes, alert and guarded.
He was silently declaring his ownership.
Suddenly being held, Sophia looked up in confusion.
Benjamin happened to lower his gaze, his deep, unfathomable eyes full of resentment.
She couldn't help but laugh, "Why are you jealous again?"
"What do you mean 'again'? Sophia, you should really reflect on this. Men wanting to pursue you is one thing, but why can't you even let the women go?"
Sophia, being scolded out of nowhere, was a bit speechless and retorted helplessly, "What do you mean I can't let women go? This is called irresistible charm! Weren't you conquered by me too?"
Looking at her proud and smug little expression, Benjamin's heart suddenly skipped a beat.
He raised an eyebrow and pondered for a moment, "You're right."
He was indeed willingly conquered by Sophia.
And he happened to be the luckiest one.
He had her.
Thinking this way, Benjamin's mood instantly improved, and the corners of his mouth lifted.
If it weren't for the outsiders present, Benjamin would definitely hold Sophia and kiss her thoroughly.
Isolde and Remy, watching their interaction, suddenly felt a bit out of place.
But they couldn't leave or stay.
What shocked them most was that Benjamin, who was rumored to be cold-blooded and ruthless with cruel methods, was actually like this in front of his wife.
Simply unimaginable.
Remy cleared her throat and said to Sophia, "We won't disturb you any longer. Isolde needs to go back for a follow-up examination."
With that, Remy quickly pushed the wheelchair away.
Isolde was confused by the sudden departure.
Why were they leaving already?
She hadn't seen enough!
Real couples were indeed more natural and sweeter than those fake couples in the entertainment industry bound together by interests.
When Sophia and Benjamin gazed deeply at each other, Isolde was screaming with excitement inside.
She automatically added a pink bubble filter for them.
But just when she was getting into it, Remy pushed her away.
After leaving, Isolde pouted in dissatisfaction, "Remy, I don't remember having any follow-up examination?"
Remy stopped and tapped Isolde's forehead, "Are you stupid? Sophia finally woke up, and she and Benjamin haven't had a chance to talk properly yet. Was it appropriate for you to be there?"
Isolde thought about it and realized it really wasn't appropriate.
She awkwardly touched her nose and let Remy push her back to the room.
In the hospital room, Joshua was sitting on the sofa waiting for her.
Seeing them return, he slowly stood up, "Remy, Isolde."
"Joshua? Why are you here?" Isolde's eyes brightened.
Joshua made a fist with one hand and coughed lightly against his lips, looking a bit uncomfortable, "I came to see you. How's your recovery going?"
"Much better already, thank you for your concern, Joshua." Isolde lowered her eyes, her hands clasped together on her knees, a bit at a loss.
Joshua nodded, "That's good. I've already paid your medical and hospital fees. Focus on recovering, your health is what matters."
"Thank you, Joshua." The smile on Isolde's lips gradually became a bit bitter. She hid her emotions and asked, "Joshua, have you found a new actress yet?"
"Not yet. I've looked around but haven't found anyone suitable."
Bringing this up, Joshua immediately felt a bit frustrated.
Although the third female lead didn't have many scenes, if played well, the character would be very popular, so many people were competing for this role.
But Joshua had high standards for actors and hadn't found the right person.
Isolde hung her head, looking at her injured leg, and sighed helplessly, "Joshua, I'm really sorry. If it weren't for me... you wouldn't be in such a difficult position now."
"Isolde, don't think that way. This isn't your fault. Focus on recovering, don't worry about other things." He knew Isolde had always been eager for this role.
After a pause, he slowly spoke, "If there's an opportunity in the future, I'll arrange a suitable role for you in a script. Consider it compensation."
Joshua rarely made promises to people and had never promised to reserve a role for anyone before. Isolde was immediately overwhelmed with gratitude.
A huge surprise had landed on her head.
She stared wide-eyed in shock, unable to react for a moment, "Really?"
"Of course it's real."
Joshua assured her.
Isolde turned to look at Remy. Remy's eyes were red, nodding continuously, gripping her shoulder, "Isolde, hurry and thank Joshua!"
"Thank... thank you, Joshua!"
Isolde was so excited she could barely speak, her eyes welling up with tears.
"You're welcome, this is what I owe you."
Joshua had very high standards for filming, which was why he chose Vast Mountain for on-location shooting.
To achieve the best results, everything else could be compromised.
