Chapter 138 Going to the Lumina Group
If Benjamin had an accident at the Sterling Villa, the Sterling Family wouldn't be able to get out of it.
As the lady of the Sterling Family, she absolutely wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
Sophia saw right through her thoughts and couldn't help but sneer inwardly.
She coldly ordered Chase behind her: "Since the Sterling Family is afraid of trouble, we're not the type to overstay our welcome. Chase, take Mr. White away. Once we step out that door, whatever happens to Mr. White has nothing to do with the Sterling Family."
Hearing Sophia's words, Rosalind's face instantly flushed red.
She hadn't expected Sophia to call out her thoughts so directly.
She laughed awkwardly: "What are you talking about? The Sterling Family isn't afraid of trouble. We're just worried about your medical skills."
"Since Grandpa was willing to entrust Mr. White to me, that means he absolutely trusts me. Ronin, we'll head back now. Sorry for disrupting your birthday celebration. Mr. White and I will come apologize in person another day."
With that, she left without looking back.
Once in the car, Sophia hurriedly pulled out a medical kit.
The kit was something Sophia had specially prepared.
Benjamin was always encountering various dangers when he was out.
Especially given his high position, he had offended many people over the years and was constantly facing assassination attempts and pursuits.
Sophia had prepared various medicines for emergencies.
Each bottle of medicine in there was priceless.
She never expected it would come in handy today.
Sophia bit her lip hard, lowering her eyes to hide the pain in them.
For over a decade, Sophia had rarely gone without her medicine.
She never knew going without it would be this painful.
Waves of bone-chilling cold seeped out from inside her body, the cold penetrating even into her bones.
Sophia clenched her hands into tight fists, feeling as if every inch of her flesh was being thrown into a meat grinder and violently churned.
The pain made it almost impossible for her to breathe.
But she couldn't let up.
And she couldn't cry out in pain.
Benjamin still needed her.
Sophia took a deep breath and sterilized the medical instruments.
Fortunately, there was a seat back in front of her.
If Chase turned around now, he would definitely notice how badly Sophia's hands were trembling.
"Chase, go to the Lumina Group," Sophia ordered hoarsely.
Chase froze for a moment, not immediately understanding.
"Mrs. White, where did you say?"
"The Lumina Group." Sophia repeated through gritted teeth.
Even just saying the company name took almost all her strength.
She leaned back against the seat exhausted, gripping Benjamin's hand tightly.
Benjamin had already fallen into unconsciousness.
He leaned against Sophia's side, eyes quietly closed, his face pale as paper without a trace of color.
The lights outside the car window flickered on and off, outlining Benjamin's handsome, chiseled features, stripping away some of his usual coldness and adding a touch of fragile beauty.
She slowly raised her hand, wanting to touch Benjamin's cheek.
Just as her fingertips were about to touch his skin, Sophia suddenly realized her whole body was ice cold - she couldn't transfer this coldness to him.
She decisively withdrew her hand and fed him the medicine.
After doing all this, Sophia's forehead was already covered with cold sweat.
She had exhausted almost every last bit of her strength.
Her hair was disheveled and still somewhat damp.
Sophia's face had long lost all color, making her look more like a delicate, fragile porcelain doll that would shatter at the slightest touch.
Chase looked at Sophia in the rearview mirror and couldn't help but be startled.
"Mrs. White, why are your clothes wet?"
Chase had been focusing all his attention on Benjamin earlier and hadn't noticed that Sophia's clothes were soaked through.
Looking now, Chase silently blamed himself.
He had been too careless not to notice for so long.
"I accidentally fell into the lake, but I'm fine now," Sophia said lightly.
Chase frowned and nodded, but harbored some doubts.
Based on his understanding of Sophia, she definitely wasn't such a careless person.
Could Sophia have been bullied at the Sterling Villa?
Chase wanted to ask, but seeing Sophia's pale face, he quietly swallowed his words.
Soon, the car stopped in front of the Lumina Group building.
"Mrs. White, we've arrived at the Lumina Group."
Sophia slowly looked at Benjamin, and seeing he was still asleep, didn't disturb him.
"Chase, take care of Mr. White. I'll be back soon."
"Yes."
Chase watched as Sophia entered the Lumina Group building, a trace of confusion flashing in his eyes.
Why would Sophia come here?
Wasn't Benjamin's condition more important right now?
Chase turned his head to look at the back seat.
Benjamin was still unconscious, his refined, chiseled face unable to hide its sickly pallor.
Sophia entered the Lumina Group without any obstacles.
Many employees hadn't left work yet, and seeing Sophia in such a disheveled state, they were shocked.
"Ms. Brown, what brings you here?"
"Ms. Brown, why are your clothes wet? Is it raining outside?"
Looking at their worried and concerned expressions, Sophia felt warmth in her heart.
"I'm fine. Where's Matthew? I need to see him urgently."
The employee hesitated for a moment, then pointed toward the conference room: "The boss is in a meeting, discussing next quarter's new products."
Sophia nodded and walked toward the conference room.
The employee instinctively tried to stop her, but couldn't.
Sophia had no time or energy right now to consider the so-called consequences.
She only knew that if Benjamin wasn't treated soon, he really wouldn't survive.
The poison in his body would only get worse the longer it was delayed.
He had already endured enough in the first twenty-four years. Since fate had sent her to his side, she absolutely wouldn't let him suffer like this again.
Matthew was currently sitting in the conference room, listening to his subordinates' reports.
He had asked a professional team to study the skincare formula Sophia had given him last time, and the results were almost as good as the best acne products in the country.
And their biggest advantage was that the raw materials used in the products were extremely low cost.
Young people nowadays paid great attention to skincare, makeup, and such concepts.
All the skincare products under the Lumina Group could meet their needs in every way.
"Next, focus on testing what skin types the product is suitable for and any side effects," Matthew ordered quietly.
Although he trusted all the formulas Sophia developed, the basic procedures still had to be followed.
The employees all nodded.
Matthew was about to say something more when the door was suddenly pushed open from outside.
Matthew slowly looked up, his gaze suddenly freezing.
He frowned, looking at the visitor in surprise.
"Sophia? What brings you here? How did you get yourself in such a state?" Matthew suddenly stood up from his chair and strode toward Sophia.
He hurriedly unbuttoned his suit jacket, took it off, and draped it over Sophia's shoulders.
"Why don't you take better care of yourself? You'll catch a cold."
Sophia pulled the suit jacket tighter around herself and looked at Matthew with reddened eyes.
