Chapter 137 Falling into Water
Looking at those cold, indifferent eyes, Magnolia suddenly felt a sharp pain in her heart.
She gritted her teeth, her eyes full of hatred: "Sophia! You just wait, I will never let you off!"
"Is that the only thing you can say? I'm sick of hearing it even if you're not sick of saying it." Sophia rubbed her ears, her eyes full of disdain.
"Sophia!"
"Shut up! You're too loud!"
Magnolia was startled by Sophia's sudden scolding and froze in place.
"Magnolia, this is the Sterling Villa, not a place for you to throw tantrums. You may have no shame, but the White Family still has a reputation. I suggest you behave yourself." Sophia warned in a low voice.
She gave Magnolia a cold glance, then turned and walked out of the hall.
There was a small lake in the courtyard of the Sterling Villa. A cool breeze blew by the lakeside, carrying the fragrance from the flower beds.
Sophia slowly closed her eyes, quietly taking in everything around her.
If the party inside was full of clinking glasses and chatting guests, then this place was pure and peaceful.
So quiet that only the sound of wind rustling through leaves and cicadas chirping could be heard.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her chest, and a bone-chilling coldness seeped out from within her body.
Sophia's body swayed slightly, and she quickly grabbed onto a nearby tree trunk.
The intense pain was like a violent storm, almost drowning and consuming Sophia.
She clutched her dress tightly, biting down hard to keep herself from crying out in pain.
Sophia slowly crouched down along the tree trunk, frantically pulling out a Revival Elixir and swallowing it.
The Revival Elixir had almost no effect. Sophia's hands trembled as she took out emergency supplies from her pocket.
She had never given herself emergency treatment before, and suddenly felt nervous.
But she had no other choice.
Matthew hadn't arrived yet, and besides herself, no one could help her.
Sophia bit down hard on her teeth, opened the emergency supplies, her heart tense to the extreme.
But before she could start treating herself, there was a commotion in the distance.
The guests' cheerful conversation suddenly became panicked and urgent.
Sophia vaguely heard Benjamin's name.
She forced herself through the pain of the poison and the bone-chilling cold throughout her body, and suddenly stood up from the ground.
Before she could steady herself, a pair of hands suddenly pushed her hard from behind.
She had no time to react and fell straight into the lake.
The icy lake water completely enveloped Sophia, mixing with the deep cold from the poison in her body.
Cold.
The bone-chilling cold almost swallowed Sophia whole.
Sophia choked on several mouthfuls of water, and the emergency supplies in her hand dropped into the water as she struggled.
She frantically searched for them in the lake.
Many people who heard the sound came over.
"What happened? I think I just heard someone falling into the water!"
"Look! Is there someone in the water?"
"Quick, save them, someone fell in the water!"
"The party was going fine, how did so many things suddenly happen? I heard Benjamin's poison flared up, and now something happened here too!"
Sophia suddenly emerged from the lake, asking in disbelief: "What did you just say happened to Benjamin?"
The people on shore were startled by Sophia and turned pale with shock.
They stared wide-eyed in disbelief, their faces turning white with fear.
"You... you..."
They stammered for a long time without getting a word out.
Sophia trembled as she climbed out of the lake, her evening gown completely soaked. The thin fabric clung to her body, outlining her graceful figure perfectly.
Her hair was dripping wet, water dripping from the ends, looking quite disheveled.
Yet it didn't diminish her beauty at all.
"What did you just say happened to Benjamin?"
Sophia asked coldly.
The woman recognized Sophia and suddenly snapped back to reality, pointing toward the hall, "Mr. White's poison flared up, Ronin is watching over him!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the woman felt a cool breeze around her.
Sophia in front of her suddenly disappeared.
She turned to look and saw Sophia running frantically toward the hall.
Sophia's steps were unsteady but showed urgency.
She rushed into the hall, her heart pounding wildly.
She still clutched the emergency medicine tightly in her hand.
To find the emergency medicine, she had stayed in the lake for a long time.
Even though she was out now, her body still carried the icy cold from the lake water.
But Sophia couldn't care about anything else right now. Her mind and heart were full of Benjamin.
The hall of the Sterling Villa was now empty. Many guests had been driven out, leaving only a few people from the Sterling Family standing guard.
Two strong bodyguards were pinning Benjamin, who was on the verge of losing control, down on the sofa.
Benjamin's eyes were bloodshot, his teeth clenched tightly, seemingly enduring pain.
His deep eyes were filled with a layer of violent storm, as if it would sweep over at any moment.
No one dared to approach easily, only standing ten meters away from Benjamin.
Seeing this scene, Sophia's heart couldn't help but skip a beat.
She rushed over frantically, her eyes full of worry.
"Honey!"
Benjamin was being held down by two burly bodyguards, gritting his teeth and struggling hard.
These two bodyguards were clearly no match for Benjamin.
Benjamin lifted his foot and kicked one of them to the ground.
With a slight effort of his arm, he pinned the man to the ground.
His originally slender hand was now clenched into a fist, swinging toward the man.
Everyone instinctively held their breath, their pupils suddenly contracting.
But the bloody scene they imagined didn't come.
Just as Benjamin's fist was about to land on the bodyguard's face, a clear and pleasant voice suddenly came from outside the hall.
Everyone noticed that Benjamin's movements paused slightly when he heard the voice.
The bodyguard took advantage of his daze to forcefully turn over and restrain Benjamin again.
However, Benjamin's rationality only returned for a moment before being eroded again by the residual poison in his body.
Watching this scene, Sophia's eyes suddenly felt sore.
She hurriedly walked toward Benjamin.
But halfway there, she was suddenly stopped.
"Mrs. White, Benjamin doesn't recognize anyone right now. You'd better not go over there."
"Get me sterilization tools. I need to treat him." Sophia said in a low voice.
"What? Treatment? This is no joke!" Asher's wife Rosalind Claire was the first to speak, her tone full of shock and surprise.
It wasn't that Rosalind looked down on Sophia, it was just that Sophia was too young.
Although Ronin had mentioned before that Sophia was Robert's student, Rosalind still found it hard to believe.
A young girl, even if she really had medical talent, could she really compare to those respected senior experts in the medical field?
Simply ridiculous!
