Chapter 18

Sofia's POV

"You must be out of your mind Devon!!!" Alexander hollered from behind us as he looked at Devon with bloodlust in his eyes.

"What warning did I give to you?" His domineering voice rang erupting my ears. At this point, it's clear that Alexander is really angry.

"You don't have—"

"Shut it and get into the car!!!" He barked at me the moment I talked therefore interrupting my speech.

I know right now that the only thing to do was go into the car as that would save I and Devon from lots of trouble. I entered the car silently while signaling to Devon to remain calm.

"I won't warn you again." Devon had his head hung low till our car zoomed off.

Alexander was the one driving and he kept speeding like a mad dog.

What the heck is wrong with him?

I felt like throwing up as my whole body was feeling weak and I felt a huge headache coming.

"Stop the car!!!" He looked at me with the corner of his eyes but continued speeding.

"Slow down please...." I begged and the car came into an abrupt halt.

"Get down!" I came down at the command he passed.

I can't tell why I'm freaking being a little good puppy.

One minute he starts acting as if he cares the next minute he's a demon. How on earth do I deal with this unearthly creature?

I opened the car door to get down but immediately I stepped one foot out, I started throwing up, vomiting everything I ate with Mr Alaric.

Alexander didn't even come to help me instead he threw a towel to my side telling me to clean up with it once I'm down.

I looked back and forth the lonely road and realized we would soon get home and a wave of satisfaction surged through me.

I got inside the car and fastened my seat belt as he started brought car to life and started driving in intermediately.

"Thank you." I looked out of the window of the instant I said that. Looking at me from the rear view mirror, he sighed and rubbed his forehead with his palms.

We got into the mansion and went to our separate rooms without anyone talking to each other and his mom couldn't utter a word but stared at us speechlessly.

While in the office working on some new design project that came out recently, I admired Elena Cortez because of how wonderfully she designs and I've always dreamt to be like her or even more.

Her fashion industry which is located at Nairobi currently is one in town. I would love to build my own fashion industry here in Los Angeles.

I scrolled through Elena's YouTube channel to see more of her newly designed clothes.

"This would be the second design project by the Designing Unit and y'all can't misbehave again as other designers from other companies would be here. I must say that the last designing that was held as a test was okay but not up to standard." Dona said the last line and looked at me, he cleared his throat and continued. " There would be judges and Martin Amos would be among them." He added and some female's started screeching in joy but one glance from Dona, they behaved.

"Mind you, this isn't an occasion but also a test outside the company's management. Whoever does well and passes this test would have to go through the final test which would be the Sewing Audition held by Elena Cortez!" Dona finalized and there was loud clap as everyone seems to be happy.

Goodness! I can't miss this neither do I have to fail.

I would give my all and make sure I'm being recognized by Elena, what a big dream. I always follow her up so this isn't going to be tough but yeah, it would be as others are contesting to win too.

My rival.... MARIE!

I have to be more than carefully this time so I wouldn't get manipulated by her.

"If I were you, I'd start going through lastest designs so things wouldn't get hard for me." Dona advised and it was acknowledged by everyone.

Dona left after passing down every information.

"I'm surely going to nail this." Marie cat walked in front of us making some workers scowl at her.

"You wish...." Another worker stated and scoffed.

"How dare you talk back at me!?" Marie yelled out to...Oh damn!

The person who replied seems to be a new worker and a crazy one at that.

"Who the hell do you think you are!" The new worker asked calmly.

"Someone, anyone, tell her who's she's talking to." Marie proudly stated as she flew her hands in the air.

" I need no one to tell me that I'm talking to a bitchy and sassy Marie who wouldn't stop chasing someone's husband around. " The new worker stated and everyone gasped while some started chuckling.

Oh, yeah... This getting interesting.

" Don't you dare talk to her like that Raven. " Annie defended.

So the new workers name is Raven? How cute.

"Oh please shut it. Aren't you both the same? Huh?" Raven fired leaving both Annie and Marie tongue tied.

"What's going on here?" Dona asked as he came into our unit.

"Aren't you all supposed to start preparing for the projects? Gave you forgotten this is a personal project? It's in a week's time and you don't have to misbehave, hey back to work now!!!" Dona ordered and everyone scurried to continue whatever they were doing.

The embarrassment on Marie's and Annie's face was clear and it couldn't be hidden. All colours had drained from their faces.

"You'd regret ever doing this!" Marie mouthed to Raven who snickered at her.

It's obvious Marie is pained.

"Hello." A familiar, yet not familiar voice greeted. I turned around only to see Raven standing in front of me with a glass of coffee in her hands.

"Hi...." I responded shyly.

"I'm Raven." She brought out her arms and I did the same and we both shaked hands together.

"Sofia." I stated.

With that, we both walked and talked for a while, today was less busy so there was enough free time and I hadn't laid eyes in Alexander.

"Okay then, which and you'd start your preparations from now?" I asked and she nodded het head positively.

"Can I get your contact?" She asked and with all pleasure, we both exchanged contacts

The test for the designing project is in a week's time and we were asked to stay home and prepare to come back on Monday with the clothes we designed.

"You were really out–straight with Marie which is a good thing. On a second thought, I wondered if you were actually a new worker." I stated and she laughed heartily.

She's really positive vibe and one thing that's so cute is having to meet someone who matches your vibes, it's a life saver for me.

" I hate when she throws words carelessly, she was actually belittling everyone when she obviously knows that there are people there that can beat her in work." Raven explained as a frown appeared on her face.

" You shouldn't let that make you feel bad." I advised. "Of course I can't feel bad about that, I don't even care about her since I beat her to everything. You're the problem here, you too calm over everything and it wouldn't change until you decide to stop it which is gonna be hard to stop." Raven said further.

Gosh!

She's emitting mother vibes.

" Your giving me the chills..." I awkwardly laughed but she frowned.

" What's wrong?" I asked and followed her line of sight only to spot Marie coming towards our direction.

Bimbo!

" Oh, so what's this now? Huh? Bestie combo or what?" Marie mocked as she walked up to us.

"What can't you mind your business and stay on your own?" Raven asked.

If there is one thing I've learnt from Raven just now is that, she talks calmly and she's always making a point which is a good thing.

"You're just a newbie and you don't dare talk to me the way you want." Marie mouthed feeling like an eagle.

" Why shouldn't I talk to you the way I want? You're not the CEO's girlfriend and can never be one. Can't you see that no matter what you've tried to do for years he hasn't even notice you? " Raven kept talking and that really spiked Marie.

"What makes you think that you'd go free after uttering all these rubbish you just said." Marie spatted in anger.

"And who's going to punish me? You?" Raven asked and when she didn't get any reply from Marie, she held my hands and we both walked out leaving Marie to seethe in anger.

"You're one badass." I commented.

" No I'm not. I know you're one but you're just hiding it to keep your character in check." Raven truthfully answered and of course that's true.

"Alright then, see you next week." We both greeted goodbyes and parted ways.
