Chapter 17

Sofia's POV

It wouldn't hurt to have just one meal with someone who had done so good to calm me dow or would it?

"Okay, let's go." I stood up and we walked hand in hand to the cafeteria.

When we got there, every workers kept staring at me weirdly. I and Mr Alaric ordered our foods and started eating but I felt strange with the way Alaric kept looking at me.

"Eat your food or it might get cold." I Meade sure I wasn't looking at him when I said that. He just chuckled and started eating his food all the while looking at me from the corner of his eyes.

"I would get up and walk inside if you keep staring at me like that!" I got irritated... What the heck is wrong with him.

"I appreciate the fact that you helped calm me down but stop looking at me in that manner!" I added and he scoffed.

"What exactly do you want? I can give it to you. You and I knows that Alexander has no value gor you and would trash you off when he's done with you." I wouldn't lie that those words hurt me but I had to put on a strong facade.

"You're sick!" Finding it hard to contain my anger, I stood up from the chair hurriedly and didn't realize that the force impact I made with the table has caused the food to shake and spill on Mr Alaric's laps....

Damn!

They are fucking hot.

How could not have realized that?

"Fuck, bitch!" He cussed as he stared at me with bloodlust.

" I didn't realize, I'm sorry." I apologized immediately.

The funny part is that, no matter how disorganized we were at the moment, no one noticed and it's kinda great,at least no one gets to badmouth me.

"Would you just sit there and do nothing? Won't you get me a towel to clean this up? If my skin gets burnt I'd make your life miserable." He stated harshly and I stood up and instantly went to get a towel and a bowl of cold water.

I used it to clean him up and apologized for the last time before walking away...

"What the he are you dressed like this today? Huh?." Marie asked blocking my way.

I have already had enough today but can my day get any better?

" Can you please leave the way so I can pass?" I asked angrily.

" Shut your mouths...Who the hell do you thi k you are?" Annie asked.

I pushed them out of my way and forcefully went inside without soaring them another glance. I walked to my cubicle and had my head bent on my desk.

"I thought I saw her with Mr Alaric a while ago?" A workers asked.

" You're really stupid you know." Another one uttered but thank goodness as Dona came staring at those insulting me.

"I can see you want your entire salary cut off and then you compensate the company by working for 6 months extra!!!" Dona yelled making everyone go silent immediately.

Marie and Annie walked in, looking at me with sarcastic look but one glance from Dona, they both behaved themselves.

That was enough warning for everyone.

I stood up from my seat and walked out.

I'm heading home right now!

Dona made an attempt to talk to me but I didn't listen to him.

I hated the fact that everyone has to make me feel this agitated st all times.

What the hell is wrong with them?

Who the hell did I ever offend?

Anger surged through my entire being and anger flooded my head.

I was driving home from work, my thoughts swirling. I had had a terrible day, and I just wanted to get home and relax. As I drove, my phone buzzed with a text message from my brother, Dona.

Damn I missed him.

"Hey, I'm at the cafe near your office. Want to meet up?" the message read.

I sighed and turned I car towards the cafe. Perhaps a chat with Dona would make me feel better.

I parked the car and walked into the cafe. I spotted Dona at a table in the corner, sipping a coffee. He waved as I approached.

"Hey, Sis!" he said, smiling. "What's up?"

I sat down across from him and shook my head. "Nothing good," I said. "Work was a disaster today."

Dona frowned. "Oh no! Do you want to talk about it?"

I nodded and began to explain what had happened. "First, I was in a terrible mood," i said. "Then, I spilled coffee on someone's shirt. And to top it all off, my colleagues are haters. " I grumbled the last word.

Dona winced. "Wow, that's rough," he said. "No wonder you're so stressed. Can I get you a coffee or something?"

"No, I really have to talk to someone because everything just piling up on my mind. Alexander is been such a pain in the neck, I don't know if I married a husband or a destroyer." I started and Dona gave me a judgemental look before nodding his head.

"Are you even listening? All my colleagues hates me because of him. He started all of it." I yelled and Dona nodded again.

" You're not hearing me, are you?" I yelled tugging my hair in frustration.

"Of course, I'm hearing you. You know for a fact that I wasn't in support of your marriage with that asshole." Dona said and i nodded in understanding.

Of course, he was right! He was never in support.

Nobody was.

"I know that but can you just give me an escape route?" I pleaded and he looked at me thoughtfully for some seconds before saying...

"It's easy, you can get a divorce." Dona mentioned and I scrunched my face up.

How do I even go about that? And heck, I didn't want a divorce.

"You must be out of your mind, Dona." Alexander bellowed from behind us.
