Chapter 51 Did Austin Regret It
Lily heard his voice but didn't want to respond.
The game started, and Lily joined her teammates to fight monsters.
But Austin kept trailing her, persistently asking, "What's with the silence? Not happy with the offer our company made? What more do you want?"
Austin was getting anxious.
If he couldn't recruit the right person, what would happen to the finals at the end of the month?
Lily frowned.
Did Austin realize there were others on the team?
Was he not worried about being overheard?
Soon, a man's voice came from the team, "Isn't this the captain of the Titan Team? If you're inviting Sweetlemon, at least show some manners!"
"Yeah, with that attitude, you'd think he was here to bury her, not recruit her."
"Sweetlemon, why don't you join the Bubble Buddies Team? They've got a good reputation and solid benefits."
Hearing the mention of the Bubble Buddies Team, Austin instantly became furious, "She is not going there!"
She couldn't join the Bubble Buddies Team!
He had always been polite.
Until today, when he discovered that SweetLemon might actually be Lily. His composure was shattered.
"Austin, you're being too overbearing. If Sweetlemon wants to join another team, she can."
"Yeah, who made you the boss of everyone?"
Austin was fuming, "What does it have to do with you?"
This streamer could be his sister; he could talk however he wanted, and outsiders had no say.
Lily sighed and spoke up, "Stop arguing, the BOSS is coming."
"Alright, Miss, we'll listen to you."
"Show Sweetlemon some respect. Even though we're just amateurs, we're honest and not afraid of Austin."
Lily didn't say anything, leading her team to fight the BOSS.
But Austin seemed a bit angry and didn't follow the team. He tried to solo the BOSS but ended up getting killed by the monster.
Seeing Austin die, the team members made some sarcastic comments.
Austin stared at the black-and-white screen, furious, "Damn it!"
His assistant walked up to him, "Mr. Roberts, what's wrong? Did the streamer refuse to join?"
Austin rubbed his temples, "It's not about whether she'll join anymore."
If this streamer was really Lily, he had no idea what to do.
He thought about Lily's recent streaming performance—skilled and knowledgeable about the game.
Lily seemed professionally trained.
Austin was puzzled. He remembered Lily hadn't received any professional training. How strange!
So this streamer shouldn't be Lily!
If she really was Lily, wouldn't everything he said before be a joke?
Austin almost didn't want to face the truth.
He told his assistant, "Find someone else suitable."
"Are we not recruiting this streamer anymore?"
"Just do as I say! I refuse to believe there's no one else out there besides her."
Austin was fuming inside.
Seeing how talented this streamer was only made his feelings more complicated.
If this streamer was really Lily, was she messing with him on purpose to mock him?
After finishing the game, Lily noticed Austin had logged off.
Probably because he felt embarrassed?
Lily knew Austin well; he always cared about his pride.
But Lily didn't dwell on it.
After finishing the game, she felt a bit tired and left the study to get some water.
She saw Dennis sitting on the couch. "When did you get back?"
Dennis had been resting on the couch, and upon hearing her footsteps, he slowly opened his eyes, "Just got back. Did you go to school today?"
He noticed the class photo on the coffee table.
Lily nodded, "Just went to grab some stuff."
"Lily, with your streams blowing up, Austin must know by now, right? Is he kicking himself for losing such a talented sister?"
Eric came out of the bathroom, wearing a loose robe, his hair still wet.
Dennis's expression darkened, "Go back to your room and get dressed properly!"
"I was just too excited and forgot."
Eric quickly went back to his room to change, not expecting Dennis to be so easily jealous, especially since he was dressed modestly.
Lily went to the kitchen and sliced some fruit. She could tell Dennis was tired.
Dennis glanced at the fruit platter. "Have you decided which platform to sign with?"
"I think I'll pass. I looked at Crayfish's contract, and it requires a set amount of streaming time each day. Once school starts, I won't have that much time to stream. It's not very flexible."
Even without signing, she could still get paid through the platform. But she wouldn't get the platform's promotional support.
Eric came out dressed and said, "That's easy. Just negotiate with Crayfish. They'll agree to your terms."
Lily was surprised, "Why? I heard Crayfish rarely changes contracts for newcomers."
Unless they were a big deal!
Eric coughed, "You can try. After all, you're so good. The platform isn't stupid; they know they can make money."
Lily felt like Eric was joking!
Maybe Eric could use his connections to help her, but she didn't want to owe anyone favors.
Lily shook her head, "Forget it. I've made decent money these past few days. Once school starts, my tuition and living expenses will be covered."
Eric ate some fruit and said, "What about Austin? I don't believe he can't recognize your voice!"
Dennis shot him a cold look, "Can't you shut up even while eating?"
Lily smiled, "I ran into him at school today, but I didn't admit it, and he's not sure either!"
"He's just feeling guilty. Lily, you should do a face reveal on your stream tonight and scare him! Make him regret it!"
Lily shook her head, "No need. I just want to stay away from them."
She wouldn't let them affect her life.
Eric wanted to say more, but was stopped by a look from Dennis.
After Lily left, Eric whispered, "Why didn't you let me give her some advice to vent her anger?"
"If you want to vent her anger, it doesn't have to be her doing it herself."
Dennis already had a plan in mind.
Half an hour before the evening stream started.
When Lily went online, many people were already waiting in her stream.
Sophie was also in the stream, and seeing that Lily's followers had reached 300,000, she was extremely jealous.
'Just because she's good at gaming? How did she gain so many followers?' She thought.
Sophie glanced at Austin beside her, "Austin, what are you planning now?"
Austin, with a cold face, stared at the stream, "Let's watch first."
Sophie gritted her teeth.
The Crayfish platform had specifically promoted Lily's stream on the homepage, bringing her a huge influx of viewers.
Many fans came because of her reputation.
[Sweetlemon, you're so professional at game commentary. Were you part of a professional team before?]
[I heard the Titan Team's captain really wants to recruit you. Which team are you planning to join?]
[Yeah, the Titan Team's captain is even at the top of the gift leaderboard. He's online too.]
Lily saw that the top fan's name was Austin.
She calmly said, "The Titan Team did approach me, but..."
Austin's heart was instantly on edge.
