Chapter 52 Publicly Humiliating Austin
Lily stared at the computer screen, her voice steady, "But my goal is the national team."
[Hey, Sweetlemon, you should join the Bubble Buddies Team. The national team is a no-brainer.]
[Titan Team only made it to the finals through a wildcard. They're not that strong!]
[Exactly. I heard Titan Team has management issues. The talented girl was benched until they were about to lose, then she came in and pulled off a twelve-hit combo!]
Seeing these comments, Lily spoke up, "I haven't decided which team to join yet. The game PK is about to start."
She logged into the game and began prepping for the PK.
Meanwhile, Austin, hearing her response, was so furious that he smashed his keyboard!
Sophie, sitting next to him, pretended to console him, "Austin, don't be so upset. She's just a bit full of herself now because she's gained some fame. She's trying to up her value. We can just offer her more money."
Austin frowned, "It's useless."
"Austin, I have an idea."
Sophie glanced at the livestream on her computer, a calculating look in her eyes.
Lily was in the middle of her PK match when she suddenly sneezed several times, feeling a chill down her spine.
Distracted, her opponent seized the opportunity and hit her with a big move, leaving her with almost no health.
Lily immediately focused, using her agile movements to hide behind a building.
After a moment, she found an opportunity to leap out.
Realizing she was about to execute the twelve-hit combo, she quickly stopped herself.
Even without using the twelve-hit combo, Lily won the PK match.
As she saw the victory screen, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The chat exploded: [Did I just see the setup for a twelve-hit combo?]
[Yes! As a King fan, I've practiced the twelve-hit combo countless times. That jump was so familiar!]
[Sweetlemon, were you about to use the twelve-hit combo?]
Seeing these comments, Lily expected this reaction.
She explained, "I'm also a fan of King and have practiced the twelve-hit combo, so it came naturally in that situation. But as you all know, pulling off a twelve-hit combo successfully is incredibly difficult!"
She had nearly given herself away. She felt a bit guilty.
After the PK match, there was a ten-minute break.
[Sweetlemon, someone on GreenFruit's stream is calling you out. Do you want to respond?]
Lily clicked on the link a fan sent her and entered Sophie's stream!
Sophie sat in front of her computer, wearing a white dress with the filter maxed out, looking like an innocent beauty.
Her eyes were red as she spoke, "Sweetlemon, I don't know why you suddenly broke the contract and went to Crayfish Live. Austin saw your potential before you were famous, talked to you a lot, and taught you many things about the team. But you turned around and didn't want to cooperate anymore. That's really hurtful."
Sophie had fans who blindly adored her, and many came to her stream to insult Lily.
Lily's lips curled into a cold smile, "Firstly, I never agreed to sign with Titan Team. Secondly, I got to where I am today through my own efforts."
Sophie continued to sob, "Everyone knows that someone who's never received team training can't be this professional. SweetLemon, even if you broke the contract, you should end things amicably. Instead, you went to Crayfish Live. That's not right."
Lily's eyes showed impatience.
Lily opened the game chat, "Here are all my conversations with Austin. The truth is all here!"
She publicly shared her chat history with Austin.
Since Sophie was being aggressive, she had no choice but to fight back.
The chat history was quickly screenshotted and posted in the comments.
[Hey, Sophie, open your eyes and see clearly. Austin was the one chasing after Sweetlemon. She never agreed to join you.]
[Now you're jealous of Sweetlemon's success and trying to morally blackmail her? Shame on you!]
[Just because you're crying doesn't mean you're right! The public can see through your act!]
The comment section erupted into a heated argument.
Sophie saw her viewer count rising and was secretly delighted. She knew this would boost her followers!
Austin, on the other hand, felt humiliated. He didn't expect her to release their chat history.
Now he believed that SweetLemon wasn't Lily.
If she were Lily, she wouldn't have done this, as it would negatively impact the Roberts family.
Since she refused his offer, he would show no mercy.
Austin logged into the game and opened the PK ranking match.
He was currently ranked 90th.
He contacted the other players ranked in the 90s, asking them not to log in, ensuring he would be the one to face her.
If SweetLemon wanted to advance, she would have to defeat him!
Originally, Austin planned to have her sign a contract and then promote today's PK match, but now that was unnecessary.
Austin's assistant cautiously asked, "Mr. Roberts, are you sure you want to do this yourself?"
"Yes, I need to teach her a lesson!"
Austin was confident. As a top player, he believed he could easily defeat a newcomer.
Though the streamer had some talent, she was no match for a professional.
The PK match began quickly.
When Lily saw her opponent, her eyes grew colder.
She spoke calmly, "What a coincidence."
She knew Austin's rank, but there were multiple players ranked 90th, and PK matches were random.
So Austin did this on purpose.
The livestream viewers also noticed.
[Sweetlemon, don't be afraid. You have the skills.]
[Why is a professional showing off here? Isn't this against the rules?]
[Austin is clearly out for revenge!]
Lily's voice remained steady, "Don't worry, everyone. The match isn't over yet. We don't know who will win."
A hater chimed in: [Don't get cocky, or you'll be sorry when you lose badly.]
Lily ignored the hater.
She looked at the character on the screen.
Austin was still using the gear she had specially set up.
But today, she would personally destroy that gear.
No one in the world knew Austin's playstyle better than she did!
Lily picked up her weapon, "Let's begin."
Her slender fingers danced rapidly over the keyboard, predicting almost every move Austin made.
But Austin couldn't predict her actions.
Five minutes later, Austin was nearly out of health, hiding behind a building.
Lily didn't chase him. She stood still in the open.
Austin was frustrated, "How is this possible? How does she know all my moves and strategies?"
"Mr. Roberts, maybe she studied your playstyle in advance, which is why she's so familiar!"
Austin shook his head, "No, the last move I saved for the finals. I've never used it before!"
Suddenly, Austin realized something, "Wait, there's one person who knows."
Lily knew! Because she had come up with those secret moves.
Austin's breath caught. Could she really be Lily?
