Chapter 48 Surrounded by Admirers
After Lily finished talking, she didn't care if Austin recognized her voice or not.
She logged into the game and queued up for her first player-versus-player (PvP) match of the day.
She knew that the players at this level were usually pretty skilled.
Her first PvP match started.
Her opponent was a berserker, a class with a lot of health, making them tough to beat.
The opponent taunted her, "Hey, if you beg for mercy now, maybe I'll go easy on you. You can't keep a spot you got by hiring a pro player."
Lily didn't respond and jumped straight into the fight.
Five minutes later, her opponent was on the ground.
No surprise, Lily won!
After each PvP match, there was a three-minute break.
Lily's live stream chat exploded.
[Where's that cocky guy now? Come on, eat your words on stream!]
Austin stared at his computer screen, almost thinking he had misheard.
The streamer's voice sounded exactly like Lily's.
How could this be?
Was there something wrong with his ears?
Austin looked at his secretary in disbelief and asked, "Did the streamer just talk?"
The secretary nodded, "Yeah, judging by the voice, it's a young woman. Is there a problem?"
Austin didn't say anything, his gaze fixed on the streaming screen, his emotions in turmoil.
"SweetLemon."
How did he not think of it? Lily's childhood nickname was Lemon.
For a moment, Austin felt a bit breathless.
If she really was Lily, he couldn't even fathom the possibility.
Just then, Sophie walked over, "Austin, what's wrong? You don't look so good."
Austin's throat tightened, "The streamer's voice sounds just like Lily's! Could they be the same person?"
"Austin, I also suspected it might be Lily after hearing the streamer's voice in that video yesterday. But I think it's probably a coincidence. After all, some people look exactly alike in this world; it's not surprising that voices can be similar too."
Austin sighed in relief, "You're right, it's probably just a coincidence."
He didn't want to believe it was Lily.
He couldn't bear the thought.
The secretary exclaimed, "Mr. Roberts, the streamer's followers just hit 200,000, and the number of viewers is up to 100,000!"
Austin immediately looked over, "It's growing so fast?"
"Yeah, she hasn't lost a single match since she started PvP, and she's winning effortlessly every time!"
"If we could recruit her to our team, we'd definitely win the finals."
Austin's eyes gleamed with excitement.
He thought the same.
Sophie watched from the side, barely able to maintain her smile.
If this person joined the team, where would that leave her?
The Newcomer of the Year Award for internet celebrities might go to this person instead of her.
Sophie was extremely jealous but didn't dare say anything.
After two hours of streaming, Lily had won ten consecutive matches and successfully ranked in the top 100.
Seeing the result, Lily smiled.
She rubbed her sore wrist as gifts poured into her live stream.
Lily turned on her microphone, "Thanks for all the gifts, everyone. I'll keep climbing the rankings tomorrow. This is my first time streaming, so I'm still learning the ropes."
[Can you do a tutorial on being a gunner?]
[Yeah, I wanna be a cute gunner too!]
[You can't log off so soon. You need to interact with your fans and chat with us.]
Lily continued, "I probably can't cover a gunner tutorial today, so let's talk about how I won those ten matches."
Lily played back the recording of her matches and explained each step.
Her voice was calm, her logic clear, and her analysis spot on.
After she finished explaining the first match, the opponent who had taunted her earlier publicly apologized in the live stream, [I'm sorry, Miss. I was too hasty earlier. Is it too late to apologize now?]
Lily responded softly, "It's no big deal. After all, I won."
[Lemon is both gracious and badass!]
[From a passerby to a fan, it's rare to see a skilled new female player. We must support her.]
After analyzing the ten matches, Lily's mouth was dry.
She took a sip of water and said, "That's it for today's stream. See you tomorrow."
At that moment, the screen filled with gifts again.
Lily noticed the name Titan Team and felt annoyed.
What was Austin trying to do?
Didn't she reject his invitation this afternoon?
Didn't Austin recognize her voice? Why was he still trying to recruit her?
Lily found it hard to believe.
Austin left a message in the live stream: [If you join our GreenFruit stream, you can name your conditions. You'll be the best female gunner!]
Just as Austin was about to continue, he found himself muted.
"What's going on? Crayfish can't handle it, so they muted me!"
Austin publicly tagged Crayfish's official account: [What's the deal? Someone this talented shouldn't be just a small-time streamer. If she joins Titan Team, she can win awards! What can you offer her?]
Mark quickly replied: [I can invite her to my team!]
Mark had also seen SweetLemon's stream and immediately called Dennis, "Dennis, we have to sign Lily to Crayfish Entertainment. We can't let someone else take her!"
Dennis was in a meeting in a private room.
He spoke calmly, "You want her to sign your restrictive contract?"
Mark was taken aback, "If Lily agrees to join, she can name her terms!"
After all, Dennis was the real boss behind the scenes.
The salary offered to Lily would just be moving money from one pocket to another. It was all in the family!
"I'll ask her."
After hanging up, Dennis opened the Crayfish streaming platform, and the top headline was Lily's matches tonight!
She had already gained 300,000 followers!
He watched Lily's very professional video explanations.
Someone without professional training couldn't give such an in-depth analysis.
Dennis felt there was something he didn't know about Lily.
Just then, he received a screenshot from Lily, showing her follower count, along with a happy emoji.
Dennis smiled slightly and replied: [I saw it.]
Lily waited a while, but only got that reply.
Nothing else?
Lily felt a bit disappointed. Was he still busy with work?
She calculated her earnings from the past few days of streaming and was quite pleased.
A significant portion of the gifts came from Austin.
Money earned through her skills was well-deserved!
Lily's class group chat had a new message: [Everyone, come to school tomorrow to pick up your graduation photos!]
The next morning, Lily went to school.
As soon as she walked into the classroom, someone asked, "Lily, are you SweetLemon?"
"The voice is the same. We all think it's you."
"Yeah, Lily, just tell us. We're so jealous. You're amazing!"
Lily felt a bit awkward.
Sophie walked into the classroom and saw Lily surrounded by admirers. She bit her lip in frustration.
Calista sneered, "Stop guessing. If Lily were that streamer, she would've bragged about it already."
Lily raised her eyebrows, "Oh, really?"
