Chapter 101 - The Blessed Luna

Thomas' POV

I noticed them acting strange before I left the kitchen. I know they are up to something ... but what? I looked down in my arms as I climbed the stairs, my heart clinched as I stared at her face. Shelby had already fallen asleep. My heart was happy to have her back. Asher practically purring with content. She was finally all ours for eternity.

I put her in bed and covered her up. I went to the window and saw the others in the distance, walking to the field. What are they up to? I decided to go into my office till they came back. I went over some paperwork. I heard some commotion and laughing. I got up and went to the window. I saw them on there way back.

I turned around to run downstairs, to see what they were doing. I ran smack into Hera. She looked at me and smiled. I apologized.

"Complete the bond to tie the ends by the next full moon. Make the unity of the three stronger."

After she said that she was gone. What is that even suppose to mean? I rushed down to the back door. I got there just as they were coming in.

"Where have you four been?" I asked with a smile.

"Geezzz, man." Liam jumped. "You can't just be creeping around scaring people. I just got my immortality and your trying to take it away."

I raised my brow and Jackie snickered.

"Yep. You and Shellie are stuck with us for life ... eternal life." James laughed.

"Explain." I simply stated.

"Come on. Let's go to the kitchen table." Jenna said patting my shoulder.

We went over and sat down. Jenna started to explain with the others jumping in to tell their parts. I was surprised, but glad we would have them by our sides.

"Well, on my way down I ran into Hera." I said, then I explained what she said.

"Bond to tie the ends, is probably you getting married to Shelby." Liam said thinking out loud.

"But what does the unity of three mean?" I asked confused as ever.

"Now that, I have no clue." Liam said, as everyone shook their heads.

"If you have to do it on the next full moon ... that's in 6 days." Jackie said checking the calendar on her phone.

"I don't want to add more stress to Shelby. I think her two best friends should help her out." I said with a smirk.

"Well then that means I can't help you. I'm all on board for relaxation." James said excitedly.

"I meant Jenna and Jackie you goober." I smacked him on the arm.

"Excuse me? Jenna and Jackie are barely Shellie's besties. I'm the best best friend she's ever had." James said sarcastically.

We ignored him and kept talking.

"I think the best way to have Shelby plan our wedding ... is to not know she's planning it."

"Ok, but how do we do that?" Jenna asked intrigued.

"Ask her basic questions that go along with planning a wedding. Just don't make it too obvious. And don't tell Shelby about your immorality, let it be a surprise at the reception."

"We can do that. We'll go talk with Joel in the morning to figure out what we need to know. That way we know what questions to ask her." Jackie said, always the practical one.

"She won't even know about our secret planning until she's walking down the aisle." Jenna giggled.

"Calling in the big dog. Just hope he don't dog pile the girls for the bouquet this time." James laughed.

We talked a little more and went to bed. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly with our wedding. Who am I kidding, what has gone smoothly so far. Gods pop up out of nowhere all the time.

Jenna's POV

I woke up with a knot in my stomach. I hate lying to Shelby. I know it's for the best though. I looked over at James and I know he felt my emotions through the bond.

"It's not lying. It's omitting the truth. There is a difference."

"I know that, but my stomach seems to not understand."

"Let's go to breakfast. You and Jackie have to go to see my mama. Then you gotta decide how to get Shellie out the house and relax."

Ugh! I got up and got dressed. I trudged down the stairs. All the way through breakfast I could barely eat. Every time I looked at Shelby I felt like I was betraying her. It's more the bond between our ranks. As my Luna, I'm meant to protect her and be honest. As a Beta female, the bond is stronger for me than the others. Plus, the fact me and Shelby are bonded through magic. I couldn't take the knot anymore and felt myself losing the battle. I ran to the bathroom to throw up.

"Are you ok? What's wrong?" Shelby said as she came in the restroom.

"Are you preggers?" Jackie came in right behind her.

The bathroom downstairs was set up like a public restroom, with stalls and sinks. So many people come in and out the packhouse that it's easier this way. I was in a stall. Jackie's words shocked me, but I could use them to my advantage. I flushed the toilet and went to the sink to wash my mouth out.

"I don't know." I stared right at Jackie.

Her eyes almost out bulged out of her head. Shelby's mouth about hit the floor. She recovered quickly and did a little happy dance.

"We should tell the guys were going out today. We'll go to the spa, a mom to be needs pampering. And we'll go get a test." Shelby was way to excited about another deception of mine.

I felt sick again.

"First, Jenna and I need to see Joel. You go get ready and we'll meet you back here in a little bit." Jackie was so smooth with her deception.

Shelby agreed and practically ran out the bathroom.

"Are you serious?" Jackie whisper yelled at me.

"No, but you gave me an open door. I just walked through it. It seems to have worked." I motioned to the door Shelby just ran out.

Jackie nodded her head in agreement and we went to meet Joel.

"To what do I owe this pleasant surprise visit from two of my three favorite young ladies?" Joel beamed as he opened the door.

"We need your help."

He smiled a huge bright smile and opened the door wider so we could go in. We walked to his living room and took a seat on the couch. We explained about Thomas and Hera, and the secret wedding planning.

"Well, nothing has slowed down since you girls have turned 18, has it." He chuckled. "Get basic information for me. Her favorite color, would she like inside or outside, her favorite event food, and flower. With those I can run a mile with it. Sadly, it probably won't be a grand wedding because of the short time."

"Wrong." I said, as they gave me questioning looks. "If the gods can use us then we can use them. Shelby will have a dream wedding. I'm determined to make it perfect."

"I like the way you think, dear daughter of mine." Joel gave me a devilish smirk. "I already know her favorite cake flavor so I'll get that done today. When you get the other info just come back here. This will be our wedding headquarters. Don't be too quick to ask all the questions. Shelby is smart and will get suspicious, fast."

We left Joel and went to change. If we're spending the day out I want to be comfy. After we changed we all met at the front door.

"I already told the guys and got your car for us out front." Shelby grinned. "Shall we ladies?"

We walked out to the car. Shelby got in the passenger seat, I was driving, and Jackie was in the back. We were in the SUV that belonged to James and myself. We headed out. As we headed out Jackie mindlinked me at the gate. I was lost in my thoughts and jumped about running into the open gate.

'How are we going to play this off?' Jackie asked.

I corrected the car.

'Jesus, don't do that. I wasn't expecting you to come into my head.'

'Well don't kill us. We have ever lasting life, but I don't know to what degree. Remember we can still be killed.'

"Are you alright?" Shelby asked.

"Yeah. I was dodging a squirrel." I lied.

When did I become such a good a liar? Shelby nodded her head. I turned the radio on low to drown out the silence.

"Those are pretty." Shelby said, pointing to some wildflowers on the side of the road.

"Ohhh, they are. What's your favorite flower? Mine are roses." I silently thanked the gods for this opportunity.

"Lilies. I love the peach pixie ones." Shelby said.

"I would have figured it was a purple flower. Isn't that your favorite color? It's what your Luna ceremony was covered in." Jackie chimed in, stealing a other opportunity.

"No, that was mostly Joel's idea. Plus, purple represents royalty. I did think the whole event itself was all lovely. My favorite color would have to be peach or coral. That perfect blend of pink and orange."

"That totally makes sense and is funny in a way." Jackie laughed.

"How so?" Shelby asked.

"Think about it, that color appears right as the night changes to day and day changes to night. That small moment of the sunrise and the sunset. You're the daughter of the moon and sun, you are that in between."

"I never thought of that before." Shelby smiled.

We arrived in town, with two questions answered. If we keep getting these opportunities we may complete all questions today. We headed inside the spa and got put on the waiting list. Not many people were in here, it shouldn't take long. We got the total package for all three of us. The lady at the front desk headed us our robes and told us to go change.

--- Two down, two to go. I can't wait to get a day of relaxation. ---
