Chapter 87
As he left, he overheard Greg give some orders for his men to attack him and he smirked. This was probably what they waited for. Now, how would he be able to save his sister? Silently, he found his way through another exit, much to their surprise, and he drove off.
The men waited for him at the entrance but they didn't find him. They informed their boss that he never came out. Greg went to check all the security footages and he saw where Landon had escaped from. He nodded to himself.
"This man is sure smart." He whispered. "And this man is the child I have made an experiment on. If he's still alive and has super powers then it can only mean one thing... The experiment was successful."
He picked up his phone and dialled Santino's number. "Hello, San?"
"Greg, what's up man?"
"That agent you told me about, how well do you know him?"
Santino hummed with uncertainty and Greg tapped his fingers behind his phone impatiently. "Not so well, but my subordinate seems to know him a bit too well."
Greg smiled. "Good. Send that subordinate to me as soon as possible. Tell him that I want to know every single thing he knows about the agent. The man introduced himself to me as Pierre and I have a sinking feeling that it's not true."
"Oh." Santino said. "Well, I do not know his actual name. But that's not an issue, I will send Tristan to you."
Greg relaxed instantly. "Alright, I'm waiting."

Landon drove down to the agency, his head was banging due to his hard he was controlling his anger. He marched into Martin's office and noticed that Martin was equally pissed.
"What is the matter?" He demanded. "I was out to save my sister."
"Sit." Martin ordered.
Landon was taken aback. His and Martin's conversation were always centered around mutual respect so why was Martin suddenly so pissed off?
"Go ahead." Martin urged.
Landon slowly sat in the chair opposite Martin and he stared warily. "What did you find?"
"Rose is there, yes. She has been drugged and is currently unconscious. I had to send you out because you could have saved her but you might have died in the process."
"Died? I have superpowers." Landon said and rolled his eyes. "Don't tell me you stopped me because if some silly feelings you had."
"Thus is not about me, Landon." Martin snapped. "Don't you know who that man is?"
"No," Landon answered. "Every thing I know about him was told by you. So any thing you did not tell me remains unknown to me."
"Good." Martin said. "so at least you know that since I know better, I should also be able to know when trouble us on its way, yes?"
Landon slowly nodded. "What's the matter, Martin?"
"That man, he kidnaps little children to perform experiments on them." Martin said. "The kind of experiment that should cause someone to have super powers."
"Like me?" Landon asked.
Martin nodded. "I'm afraid so, Landon. Exactly like you. Perhaps that was why he took your sister, perhaps not."
Landon frowned. If he took little children, why then would he take Rose? Rose was too old to even be considered as a teenager, not to mention a child. Little children? That should be about the age of three to five.
"If he does experiments on little children, then why does he have Rose? She is barely a child, not to mention a little child." Landon said.
Martin shrugged. "Hence why I said, it may or may not be why he took your sister."
"Rose!" Landon sighed. "This is tiring. At this juncture, what can we do?"
"We need to make more researches for the time being. Be careful too, exposing your face to people dangerous can be harmful to your life, company and the agency as well."
Landon nodded. He understood very well. If Greg was half as dangerous as he had suspected, then that man might already know that his name is not Pierre. That was not going to be a good thing too.
"It's alright, Martin." Landon said. "I do want to know though, how did all these begin? You all just told me that someone was after my life as a child and my father had served the agency in return for my protection and I had to do same."
Martin sighed. He knew that this question would come up some day, which was why he had previously seen the directors to ask for the true reason behind all of this. Now he had heard the full story, and maybe it was time to tell Landon about his origin.
"Your father, Michael, isn't your biological father." Martin began. "He's your foster father. He might or might not have told you, but he did tell us everything that happened."
"Oh." Landon murmured. He knew that Rose was adopted, but he never knew that he also was adopted.
"Your father previously used to not reside in the States. He was something like an agent as well, but he wasn't officially an agent. His main reason for venturing down this path was because of his hate for his boss."
"His... Boss?" Landon repeated.
"Yes." Martin nodded. "You have guessed right. Your father used to work for the same Greg you have just gone to see."
"Wait a minute." Landon raised his hand, trying to digest the news. "Are you telling me now that my father used to also experiment on children? Was he the reason I was there in the first place?"
Martin sighed. "Landon, you're too emotional for a man. First, he is your foster father, meaning he didn't birth you. He found you. Your father hated what Greg used to do, but he never said anything because he didn't have the guts to."
"What changed?" Landon asked.
"He lost his wife during childbirth." Martin answered.
