“Your father has blood type B while you have O,” the nurse said causing Rhiannon to stagger.
It was known that most of the time children carried their father’s blood type and not their mother's.
Not only was Rhiannon stunned but also Mrs Clark and her daughter.
“What! What are the chances of her being O while her father is B?” Mrs Clark asked as she felt something fishy was going on.
“It's rare for children to carry their mother’s blood type but not uncommon. For her she likely has her mother’s blood type,” the nurse said before she looked at Mrs Clark in confusion.
“Aren’t you her mother? Don’t you know your own blood type?” the nurse asked.
“Her? She isn’t my daughter but my husband’s,” Mrs Clark said disdain in her eyes.
Upon hearing those words, the nurse glanced at Rhiannon in disgust.
“Oh, I pity you for raising another person’s child, mostly whom your husband cheated on,” the nurse said causing Mrs Clark and Kaylee to grin as they liked it when they saw how the nurse was looking at Rhiannon.
Rhiannon felt as if she had been pierced when she saw the disgust and heard her words.
“Miss, you are wrong. Our madam’s mam wasn’t the mistress but this woman is. Our madam’s father cheated on madam’s mother and had a bastard. This lady over here is the bastard,” one of the bodyguards said as he had just seen the hurt look on Rhiannon and didn’t want her to be hurt.
Kaylee and her mother panicked when they heard that while the nurse who had asked that and the others looked at them with disgust and hatred.
“What the hell! I hate people like them the most! Why didn’t they say anything when they heard what I just said,” the nurse said angrily.
“Come down! There is no need for you to get worked up over trivial things. How can you forget how shameless a mistress and illegitimate children are? It isn’t like it’s your first time witnessing such a thing,” another said.
“Mis, I am sorry,” the first nurse apologized sincerely as she stared at Rhiannon.
“Uhm, it's okay. Nurse since I can't donate blood to my father, can she donate?” Rhiannon asked as she didn’t want to dwell on such things when her father was at risk.
“Oh, sorry I forgot about that. Yes, her blood type is B,” the nurse said as she nodded her head.
“Okay, can you please draw blood as the doctors are waiting for it to save Dad?” Rhiannon asked bringing the mother-daughter duo back to reality
They couldn’t help but scold themselves for forgetting that life was online and getting happy just because Rhiannon had been humiliated.
“Yes nurse,” Kaylee said immediately as she stepped forward.
The nurse stared at her for a while then at Rhiannon before nodding her head.
She could tell who was sincerely worried for their father’s life and who didn’t care but was just doing it for a show or something.
Looking at Rhiannon’s clothes, she concluded that they were from a wealthy family and one of them wanted the father dead to inherit the fortune while the other didn’t seem to care about the properties.
“Follow me,” the nurse said and left.
Mrs Clark gazed at the nurse with darkened eyes as she had seen how she had been looking at the two and her hatred for Rhiannon grew.
Rhiannon went back to the emergency hall as she didn’t see the need to stay there and keep Kaylee company when they didn’t get along.
After an hour, the blood was taken to the operating room and after five hours, the lights in the operating room were switched off.
Seeing this, Rhiannon ran toward the door as she knew that the operation had ended.
“Doctor, how is my father?” she asked in a panic while the mother-daughter duo ran when they saw the room been opened.
“Are you guys his family?” the doctor asked after he removed his mask and they nodded.
The doctor sighed and looked at them in sadness.
“He had lost a lot of blood and we were about to lose him. Luckily, we got the blood on time. He most suffered from internal injuries other than breaking his legs,” the doctor said causing the family to turn pale.
“Doctor, are you trying to say Father would never walk again?” Kaylee asked with a glint in her eyes.
To her, if her father had really been paralyzed, as her daughter, she had the right to succeed in his position in the company. Thinking of this, Kaylee saw her father’s accident as a blessing in disguise.
Upon hearing that question, how could Rhiannon and Mrs Clark not know what was going on in Kaylee’s head? Nonetheless, they had some fears as they thought what would really happen if that was the truth.
“Who said that? Breaking legs doesn’t mean that he won’t be able to walk! After some months of rest, him on therapy, and doing exercises, he would slowly recover and be able to be the way he was,” the doctor answered her as he thought that Kaylee was worried about her father’s health.
However, since he averted his gaze after answering the question, he didn’t see the hatred and anger in Kaylee’s eyes as she wondered why had her thoughts not come true. But after she remembered the doctor's words, she calmed down as she convinced herself that she was now the company’s CEO for months before her father recovered.
Rhiannon was disappointed in her when she saw the emotions in her eyes and sighed as she wondered who she had failed to see how evil Kaylee could be if she even wished their father disaster when he had always doted on her.
“Other than that, he is fine, right?” Rhiannon asked as she stared at the doctor.
“Yes. Currently, he is unconscious but he will wake up after some time,” the doctor said with a reassuring smile when he saw how worried Rhiannon was.
“Okay. Thank you so much,” she said as tears threatened to escape as she was glad her father was fine and nothing but bad would happen to him.
She was afraid of losing another parent as she felt she would be left without a family.
“No need to say thank you to me as I was doing my work,” the doctor said before nodding at them and leaving.
Some minutes later, Mr Clark was pushed out of the theatre and taken to a room that Rhiannon had paid for.
They followed him and none of them wanted to leave as they wanted to see him conscious.
“Rhiannon, I hope that you won’t make things hard for me after I go back to the company,”
