Rhiannon walked back to her seat and started reviewing papers.
Although she was determined to make her father and his family pay for what they did to her mother, she didn’t want them to have an easy time so she decided to drop the charges after a few hours.
She worked for an hour before she received a call causing her to frown as she didn’t like to be disturbed when working.
“Hello,” she said in a cold tone causing the person on the other side to glance at the screen before placing it on his ear once more.
“Am I talking to Miss Rhiannon Clark?” the person asked.
“Yes, you are. Can I please know who I am talking to?”
“Miss Rhiannon, I am a traffic police officer. Your father has met with an accident and has been rushed to the hospital. I took his phone and discovered saw a number saved as daughter thus I decided to reach you,” the person said.
Rhiannon didn’t hear the person’s other words as her mind kept saying that her father had an accident. Although she dismissed him for what he did to her mother, she always loved her father.
“Okay,” she said as she hung up the call.
She took her handbag and ran out of the office.
“Madam, where are you going?” one of the bodyguards asked when they saw her coming out of the office with a handbag.
“Dad, hospital,” she said as she trembled and panicked.
Although she wasn’t able to complete a sentence, the bodyguards understood her words and followed her closely.
Upon getting into the car, she called the police station and dropped the charges against her stepmother and her daughter. She also instructed them to be informed of her father’s accident as she was aware they were in the same hospital as her father.
“Drive faster,” she told the chauffeur although she felt she was driving too slow even if he was driving at 50km per hour.
The chauffeur glanced at their madam through the front view mirror and nodded. He understood how she felt as no one liked to have the feeling of losing their family, especially their parent.
Within 25 minutes, they arrived at the hospital.
Rhiannon didn’t wait for the car to be parked as immediately the car halted, she had already gotten out of it and started running into the hospital.
She stopped when she arrived at the receptionist.
“Excuse me, can you please tell me where the Operation room is?” she asked as she knew that’s where her father had to be.
“Miss, who are you looking for?” the receptionist asked politely and softly as she had worked as a hospital receptionist for a long and knew how to behave and treat the patients and the patients' families.
“Mr Clark. There was an accident some few minutes ago,” she said as she never liked to say her father’s first name since it appeared disrespectful to him.
“Oh, miss the operation room is on the emergencies and accidents floor. That’s the second floor,” the receptionist said, causing Rhiannon to nod and say thank you before rushing to the elevator.
When she arrived, she found Kaylee and her mother in the hallway and her eyes turned cold as she realized her stepmother didn’t seem like a sick person.
“Why are you here?” the woman asked angrily when she saw Rhiannon.
“Why shouldn’t I be here? Also, you better tame your temper. After all, if it weren’t for you faking an illness, would Dad have gotten into an accident when he was rushing to the hospital upon receiving the news you had a heart attack?” she asked coldly stunning the two as they had never thought that their old man got an accident because of that.
“You have played the game well. Well done but if something happens to my father, I will make the both of you pay,” Rhiannon said coldly causing them to lower their heads out of fear.
She then ignored them and walked to the emergency door, glanced at it before sitting on the bench.
After a few minutes, the door was opened.
“Who are the patient's family?” the nurse asked as she stared at them.
“Here,” she said as she ran to the nurse and the others did the same.
“The patient had lost a lot of blood and needed a blood transfusion,” the nurse said.
“Okay, I am her daughter, you can take mine,” Rhiannon said causing the burse to nod her head.
“Me too,” Kaylee said as she didn’t want Rhiannon to be known as their father’s savior alone.
They all looked at her. Rhiannon wondered what the latter was up to since she knew that Kaylee was never a kind hearted person while Mrs Clark looked displeased.
“Although you want to save your father, I have to forbid you from donating your blood,” she said angrily stunning them in the process.
“Madam, the patient needs a lot of blood. If the two girls donate then the blood needed for transfusion will be enough to save him,” the nurse said as she didn’t like what the latter had said.
“Nurse, I understand. To me, my husband's health is so important but my daughter is currently malnourished. She hasn’t been eating well,” Mrs Clark said reminding Kaylee of how she had been eating and how much she had lost weight when she was in prison.
She glared at Rhiannon in hatred as she blamed her for how she was.
Rhiannon saw her gaze and didn’t avoid it, instead, she gave her a cold look as she didn’t care about Kaylee at the moment. All she cared about was saving her father.
“Madam, you don’t have to worry about that. The two girls will first go under some tests before they donate their blood. We won’t donate blood blindly,” the nurse said as she understood what Mrs Clark was worried about.
She understood how protective mothers are to their kids.
“Okay,” Mrs Clark said with a forced smile as she knew that she couldn’t say anything now the nurse had said that.
If she were to say anything, it would seem like she didn’t want her husband to be saved. She looked at Rhiannon with hatred as she had wanted Rhiannon to donate the blood till she got sick due to giving a lot of blood.
Rhiannon saw the look and understood what was on the latter’s mind but didn’t say anything as she didn’t see the need to.
Both Rhiannon and Kaylee followed the burse with the bodyguards following their madam closely as they had to protect her 24/7.
“Please,” another nurse said as she instructed Rhiannon to stretch her hand so that she could be injected and her blood to be collected for testing.
Kaylee also underwent the same procedure.
Since they were donating blood for someone who was under an operation, the test came out quickly.
“Miss Rhiannon?” the nurse asked as she came back with the results.
“That’s me,” Rhiannon said and there was no need for her to walk forward since they were all close to the nurse.
“Miss, I am sorry but you can’t donate blood to the patient,” the nurse said shocking them.
They all couldn’t understand what the nurse was saying.
“What do you mean? Why can’t I?”
