Kaylee words caused Rhiannon to turn and look at her.
“What do you mean?” Rhiannon asked with a frown on her face.
“What I mean is that, since dad had an accident, there is no one to hold his position, as his daughter, I have the right to be the CEO till he recovers,” Kaylee said causing Rhiannon to scoff.
“That’s where you are wrong Kaylee. That position didn’t belong to Dad in the first place! I am the one who pitied him and gave him that position since I needed his help in the company! Now that he won’t be able to do that job, I will return the CEO position to the previous CEO,” Rhiannon said causing Kaylee to be mad.
“Are you crazy? How can you give that position to anyone else who isn’t a family?” Kaylee shouted making Rhiannon and Mrs Clark frown.
“Kaylee! You better watch your tone as we are currently in the hospital! How dare you talk about business when Dad hasn’t recovered his consciousness. You act as if you don’t care whether he dies or not! Also, don’t forget that I have the final say in the company as its president!” Rhiannon said coldly causing Kaylee to shut her mouth and sit down.
Mrs Clark couldn’t help but cuss her daughter inwardly for being so stupid.
No one talked after that and hours passed.
Just as Rhiannon was about to talk, she saw her father opening his eyes and she ran to him.
“Dad, can you hear me?” she asked as tears flowed out while Kaylee and her mother also ran when they realized what was happening.
“Dad is awake,” Kaylee said as she cried.
“Yes, yes. Your father is awake,” Mrs Clark said as she patted her daughter’s back.
There was no need for any of them to go and get the doctor as one of the bodyguards and already informed him.
Rhiannon helped her father by putting the pillow behind his head while Kaylee poured some water for him and then fed him.
“I am alive?” Mr Clark said after he found his voice back and realized where he was.
“Yes. You are alive,” Rhiannon said before excusing the doctor so that he could look at him.
After some minutes, the doctor finished and closed his notebook.
“There is nothing wrong with him. He needs rest for now then after a month, he can start his therapy so that he can strengthen his bones,” the doctor said causing Rhiannon to nod while Mr Clark’s face turned pale.
“Doctor, what do you mean? Why should I go for therapy?” Mr Clark asked in fear.
“You don’t need to worry. You just broke your leg but it would be fine after resting and going to therapy,” the doctor said causing him to sigh in relief.
He then realized that his wife and youngest daughter were also there.
He glanced through the window to see whether he would see some cops but only saw Rhiannon’s bodyguards.
He stared at Rhiannon with conflict in his eyes.
“You dropped their charges?” he asked in a low tone.
“Yeah. I had planned to drop it but who expected them to pull a sick act so as they can get out?” Rhiannon said causing her father to remember why he had gotten an accident in the first place.
He looked at his wife with darkened eyes and saw that she was fine.
“Had you not suffered from a panic attack? Why then are you here instead of being admitted?” he asked.
Hearing his words, Mrs. Clark panicked as she had forgotten about that.
“Dear, when I heard of your accident, I panicked and wanted to stay by your side,” she said as she panicked.
Rhiannon rolled her eyes as she thought of her lame excuse.
“You panicked? As someone with heart disease, you would have had a heart attack some more if you were really sick! I never thought that you could do that! Now see what your evil mind and plans have led me! I almost lost my life because of you!” he said angrily.
“Dad, stop being angry. You have just woken up and you need not panic!” Rhiannon said as she tried to convince her father although she wanted to see how her father would deal with her.
“Dad, what Rhiannon has said is true, We can talk about this another time,” Kaylee chimed in as she didn’t want her mother to be lectured.
“Dad, I donated my blood when you needed blood,” Kaylee said after some minutes of silence.
‘What a schemer! She had to tell him that?’ Rhiannon wondered as she looked at Kaylee coldly.
“What! Rhiannon, do you hate me so much that you can use your blood to save your own father?” Mr Clark asked in pain as he never thought that her daughter hated her to that point.
“Dad, I really wanted to but the nurse said that I couldn’t since we have different types of blood,” Rhiannon said as she bit her lip.
If Rhiannon knew her words would cause her a lot of things later, she wouldn’t have said that.
“You don’t?” Mr Clark asked with a frown and Rhiannon nodded.
“Dad, the nurse said that it is rare for a child to carry her mother’s blood. This happened to Rhiannon, she had blood type O just like her mother,” Kaylee said shocking Mr Clark.
“That’s not true! Sabrina had blood type A!”
