“Rhiannon, how long will you keep on doing this?” Mr Clark asked immediately he walked into Rhiannon’s office without walking.
“Mr. CEO, I think you know that I am your superior and you should be respectful to me. Have you ever seen me walk into your office without knocking even though I am superior? What gave you the right to barge in here without my permission?” Rhiannon asked her father coldly shocking him as he never expected to be treated that way by her.
“Rhiannon! I am your father! Do I need to knock at my daughter’s office?” he asked angrily as he felt humiliated although there wasn’t anyone in the room.
His words made Rhiannon chuckle as she kept the pen on the desk and slightly leaned on her chair as she stared at her father coldly.
“It’s good that you remember that you have another daughter apart from Kaylee. Although you can behave like the man of the house and shout the way you want there, I won’t allow you to distract me when I am doing my work! I am the superior here at work and not you!” she said as her cold eyes stared at him causing him to panic.
“How ... how can you say that? So what if you are the president here? You have to respect me nonetheless!” he shouted as he shot daggers at Rhiannon who sighed when she saw how he was behaving.
“Who said that I don’t respect you, Mr Clark? Have you ever seen me disrespecting you both in the office and outside in front of the employees or the shareholders? Have I ever disrespected you? Tell me,” Rhiannon said coldly in a slightly high voice causing the man to take steps backwards.
When he lifted his head once more to look at her, he saw her mother’s, Sabrina’s, shadow in her causing him to be terrified.
“Why are you panicking when looking at me?” Rhiannon asked as she raised her eyebrows as she felt that there was something wrong with what her father was doing.
Her voice brought him back to reality ad shook her head before looking at her again and sighed when he realized that she wasn’t the one.
“Why are you giving me that look? If you have nothing good to say then leave! I am not in the mood to deal with you!” Rhiannon said as she pointed the way out.
“I am not leaving here till you promise to drop the charges!” Mr Clark said when he remembered why he was there in the first place.
His words stunned Rhiannon and made her remember that she had indeed not yet dropped the charges. She chuckled as she wondered how the mother-daughter duo had been doing there.
“Why are you laughing? Are you so happy seeing our family broken apart by you? Are you that selfish? You already got the company and your family heirlooms so why are you still punishing us? Or do you want to lead us to our graves?” MR Clark asked question after question causing Rhiannon’s eyes to turn cold as she heard those words.
“Broken by me? Hahaha! Weren’t you the one who broke up my family and caused my mother’s death?” she asked coldly causing the man to shiver as he started panicking.
He immediately lowered his head avoiding Rhiannon's stare as he was afraid that she might see through him. Seeing the way he reacted to her question, Rhiannon’s aura turned colder than before as she knew that there must be something that she didn’t know about.
She had just said that they killed her but she didn’t mean it as it was just out of anger. But now seeing how her father was behaving upon hearing her words, she remained silent as she analyzed what she had just said.
No one had to tell her anything, she knew that her mother’s quick death had something to do with the man in front of her and his mistress.
“Also, what right do you have to tell me that I am selfish for taking back what belongs to me? Or did you think that I could leave this to you? Everything that my mother worked hard for so as I can have a great future ahead as she knew that she was about to die, I should leave it to you, a cheating bastard, your mistress, and your bastard child?” Rhiannon asked coldly causing her father to be angry that he forgot why he was lowering his head in the first place.
“Enough Rhiannon! You have to respect me! I am your father and the man of the house!” he said angrily as his eyes had already turned red due to fury but Rhiannon laughed at his words.
“Man of the house? Sorry, but I no longer live in that house thus my husband is the man of our house! Also, we both know that since Mom was alive, you never had a say in that family! You were always under her. Dad, although mother is dead, you should remember that I am her daughter and I inherited a lot of things from her. I am still the head of the company and of that house anytime I go back there!” Rhiannon said as she didn’t see the need to give respect to the man who had caused her mother’s death.
Although she didn’t have evidence, his reaction to her words was enough evidence.
“How can you say that? What a rotten girl! Your aunt was right! I should have punished you when you were a little kid,” he said as an evil glint was evident in his eyes and the murderous aura spoke more to his words.
“Yeah? She told me to kill me the same way you people killed my mother, right?” she asked coldly as she stared into his eyes as she didn’t want to miss any expression!
Mr Clark was shocked by her words first before he started panicking. After some seconds, he got his composure back and glared at the latter wanting to intimidate her but sadly, he was the one who was intimidated back.
“Never expected to intimidate me. Also, you guys succeeded in killing my mother but never succeeded in killing me! That shows that the heavens are on my side. You should be careful as I will not let any of you easily after you killed my mother!” Rhiannon said coldly.
Mr Clark was stunned and then understood that Rhiannon had not known what he and his wife had done. He was the one who had given everything out. He regretted everything he had done and blamed Rhiannon but at the same time, understood that she had changed and become someone more terrifying just like her mother.
“What! I never killed your mother or tried killing you! You are my daughter, how can I bear to kill you?” he asked softly as he hoped that she would believe him.
Rhiannon rolled her eyes as she watched how he was trying to fool her and felt that she was indeed a fool in the past as they had always managed to convince her everything with their petty tricks on their sleeves and their acts which were so low.
“Why are you explaining that to me? I didn’t break your family but I think after today, I will make sure to break it,” she said with an evil smirk which made her father frown and at the same time have a premonition.
“You! Don’t dare say anything! Your aunt is at the hospital due to a heart attack! I was here to ask you to drop the charges so that she can be released and recover well at home,” he said making Rhiannon laugh.
She now understood why her father was angry at her. She understood that no matter what she did for him, by the end of the day, she could never compare to Kaylee and her mother. The harsh trust hit her hard and made her in pain but there was nothing she could do other than console herself.
She pressed a button on the desk and the door was opened by her bodyguards who were always around her office.
“Take him out!” she said coldly and the bodyguards acted fast.
“Rhiannon! How can you do this to your father? Do you think that people will continue loving you when they discover how you treat your father,” Mr Clark shouted as he was been carried away.
After the door was shut, Rhiannon sighed then stood up and walked towards the window.
She looked at the city through the transparent window as she fell in deep thought.
‘What’s better? For them to pay their sins in prison, or make life difficult for them till they beg me for mercy?’ she asked herself as she wanted to take revenge for herself and for what they did to her mother.
After some minutes of being in deep thought, she smiled coldly.
“Let the game continue I will make your lives a living hell unlike previously I was holding back but now, I won’t!”
