“Brother, what are we going to do? I don’t want to get married to that man! I haven’t gotten to see my baby sister yet!” Yadira said as she cried making Gustavo frustrated and he couldn’t shout at her or reprimand her.
“I will figure out something,” he answered without looking at her as he was also in shock at the news he had heard.
Unlike Yadira who thought that her father’s words were sincere, Gustavo could tell that it was a warning to him that if he didn’t stay quiet and be obedient, he would lose everything but what everything was the leader even talking about? Cause as far as he knew, the man had not discovered yet that Rhiannon and the prince were still alive thus he was just threatening him with Yadira and if he did what he said, getting her to marry his friend’s son, what would he remain with other than nothing?
After all, he had already lost his mother and he was about to lose his sister what else did the man try to threaten him with? He sneered as he felt glad that Rhiannon was clever enough to understand what was going on and went into hiding. The only thing he did was to wipe their traces and even add their information to a boarded plane so that it could look like they had died in the crash.
If he wanted to threaten her with her grandparents who were old, Rhiannon had already taken care of that and they were in hiding too. As for the royals, he wasn’t worried at all because no matter how many allies the man got, they would never stand at an equal footstand with the royals who were feared by all the countries as they had the dangerous soldiers who had been trained that if they went to battle, there was no giving their enemy a chance to regret and retreat, they should attack them fiercely and wipe out all their enemies leaving none alive. How could the soldiers who had been trained like mercenaries compare to the organization soldiers who depended on drugs to be strong before going to war?
Although they were also trained, they didn’t have the capability and fitness to do so. Also, none of those highly trained coaches wanted anything to do with such an organization. Unlike him and Yadira who had been trained in fighting skills, martial arts, and other survival skills by their mother since they were young.
Most times when Celestine took Yadira to visit her brother, they would greet each other first before they started training, that was after all, chasing the guards away so that they couldn’t know. After several hours of training, they would now start playing with each other. Therefore, no one knew that they had such capabilities.
With this, he wondered what else the leader threatened him with as he was so sure that Yadira might get a chance to escape when she got out of the gates. Escape! That word seemed to be engraved on his mind at that moment as he understood everything.
He was threatening him, one, he already knew about their stupid plans and what they had been doing thus he was taking his only family away from him so that he could give up his idea of running away. Two, if Yadira dared to escape from her husband’s palace, he would forget that she was his daughter and would get rid of her.
This made Gustavo’s face turn ugly and his eyes turned colder vowing that he wasn’t going to let Yadira die while he watched as he knew that the latter would surely try to escape despite what he will tell her.
“Are there any herbs left?” he asked Yadira who had gotten tired of crying and was just lying on the floor lifelessly as if her soul had left her body. Seeing her like that pained Gustavo but what else could he do he didn’t want to give her false hopes while he had also not known what they should do.
In those two days after being told the news, none of them had the appetite to eat anything, and neither had they gotten sleep.
Hearing her brother’s words, Yadira glanced at him before she averted her eyes as she was angry at him.
“Mmmh,” she replied causing him to sigh but didn’t say anything to comfort her and let her stay how she wanted.
“All of them or some have been used?” he asked once more and Yadira’s cold eyes flashed at him before she averted them and didn’t give him a response.
“Can you just cooperate!” he said angrily as he was getting tired.
“Cooperate? It's not like you are the one who is getting married to the woman you don’t love!” she retorted coldly as the tears she had thought had ended started to threaten to escape.
“Do you think I want all of these? To see you leaving and being used as an exchange? You're my sister for goodness sake! I can never want such a thing to happen to you! And what are you saying about getting married to the person I don’t love? I have never fallen in love with anyone. The only people I love are my family! You, Rhiannon, and my brother.. Not even my father cause I fucking don’t know him! I have never seen him and he doesn’t even know that I exist! I am the eldest and if you think that I am not feeling pain, then you are wrong as am the one who is shouldering everything about our family!” he said angrily but he didn’t dare shout as he was afraid that there might be someone listening to their conversation and would tell their leader about it.
“Every day I wake up, I have to take my laptop on and look whether the firewall I created while hiding Rhiannon’s and Ernest’s whereabouts has been cracked and if the enemy knows where they are. Afraid that the royal families would ruin everything. At the same time, I have to supervise the work given here as I try to win people on our side so that we can leave this place as soon as possible. Do you think that I have ever slept peacefully here? And every time I go to sleep am afraid that we will be attacked?” he asked as he felt the pain that his efforts all these years had never been appreciated.
