“What do you mean?” Antonio asked as he stared at Mary.
“What you heard,” Mary replied coldly as she wasn’t in the mood to talk to any of them.
“Nanny,” Octavius called Mary as he stammered as he couldn’t believe it.
“I am not your nanny but Rhiannon’s. I was so happy that she married you as you are always watching over her. When you make her angry as she runs away from home and goes to stay with any of her aunts, you are always desperate, wanting to know what you can do to win her back but now. I just can’t believe that you were putting on an act that you love and care about her when you don’t,” Mary said as she looked at Octavius in disappointment.
“But she always doesn’t love! Does she?” Octavius asked as he looked at Rhiannon as he didn’t want everything to be blamed on him when to him, it wasn’t even his fault in the first place.
“Why should I answer? What’s the need of that?” Rhiannon asked coldly as she looked at him.
Seeing her cold eyes staring at him, he was reminded of when they got married and had not even known each other. He felt emptiness looking at them.
“I heard that the Dragon Organisation leader is a woman, she is the one?” someone from the crowd said.
Many people in the business and political industries knew of the organization thus when they heard Mary deciding on behalf of the whole organization, they were more curious than knowing what would happen to Octavius and Rhiannon’s marriage. That wasn’t more important than knowing who was the leader and currying favor with her.
“No, what am asking is what is the meaning of what you just said, Mary? You aren’t the leader of that organization,” Antonio said as he wanted to see whether Rhiannon was safe and could be protected even if she got a divorce from Octavius and got into an argument with her family, maternal and paternal.
Now that people had brought the topic back, he felt relieved as he was wondering how he was going to ask that question.
Mary turned her gaze at him.
“So what if I am not the leader? I still can make the decisions and no one can stop me,” she replied with an arrogant chuckle.
“You can’t make the decision when you aren’t even part of it,” Octavius said coldly as he knew that if that organization really did what Mary said, they would be in trouble as many companies would be afraid of working with them as they had offended the most powerful organization in the country.
“She can and she already did,” Fred said stunning people and they didn’t doubt him as they knew that the Phenix Hotel was one of the Dragon's properties.
“Oh, man. You guys have offended the wrong people this time around. Just stay away from her as you will not like what we can all do. Just be so curious about who our leader is. Even if Mary is a member, we support her and we will tell our leader when we go back as we are also not pleased,” Shawn said.
Rhiannon looked at Octavius and when she saw the fear in his eyes, she was stunned as she always thought the organization could never be a threat to the Andersons and Rodrigues.
She didn’t know what to think but although they seemed to be afraid of them, she felt that it wasn’t enough as she wanted.
However, she didn’t want him to worry too much and wondered whether she could help them remove the order but remembering that the others who were present had already agreed to Mary’s word she bit her lit as even if she rejected what Mary had said and all elders voted to it, there was nothing she could do.
Although Shawn said that Mary wasn’t a member of the Dragon Organisation, everyone was suspicious of her as no one could just say what she said and was so sure that the members of the Dragon Organisation present would just back her up.
She understood her nanny was doing that for her sake thus she lowered her head didn’t say anything and pretended that everything that was happening didn’t involve her.
“It's my family, Shawn. Don’t think that you can go against them and I will be seated,” Mr Hayes said coldly as he looked at Shawn.
When he heard his father-in-law calling Mary by her name, he recalled there was a Mary in the elder's list of the Dragon’s members.
The time he was investigating them to see whether they run illegal business, he was welcome received and they didn’t make efforts to hide things other than who the leader was and their companies. But they had gone through the members list. However, the organization had requested that they shouldn’t carry the members list, just looking at it and then leaving it.
As they couldn’t remember everyone on the list or whom they had seen, Mr Hayes took it as his mission to remember all the elders.
“Oh please. Tell your brother-in-law to treat his wife well and at least love him. How can he marry someone he doesn’t love and even if he doesn’t, can’t he try loving and supporting her? Look how Mrs Rhiannon had done her best to make things party be the best. Look at the outfits each of you are wearing. They are all from her companies if am not wrong,” Shawn said in a serious tone but not cold.
“Also, don’t think that you are the only one with the business empire and at the same time a general commander!” he added coldly as what he hated most was threats.
“You are talking and even you aren’t from this country. The Dragon Organisation is in this country and not yours. You shouldn’t intervene in something that doesn’t involve you,” Octavius said making both Shawn and David chuckle.
“That’s where you are wrong kid,” David said making everyone look at him with questioning eyes but he didn’t say anything more while Brandon remained silent as if he wasn’t a member of the Dragons.
“It might be in this country but its members are everywhere. Just because Mr Haye was welcomed into the organization while investigating it doesn’t mean that he knows every member of the organization. You don’t want this battle, my brother,” Shawn said the last sentence as he looked at Mr Hayes.
“The Dragon Organisation has posted on their official account!”
