“So what? If the king tells you to divorce her you will do so immediately,” the price said coldly as he was sure that his father would disagree with their marriage.
Hearing his words and the arrogance in his tone, Octavius was furious as he wished he could beat up the latter.
“I will not divorce him because of you,” Rhiannon said when she saw Octavius's anger and knew that things might get out of hand.
“Why?” the prince asked in sadness and disappointment as he couldn’t believe that their sister had chosen an outsider instead of them.
“He was there when I needed a shoulder to lean on. There when I had nothing. Despite my attitude, he tries his best to make sure I am happy,” Rhiannon said.
“So you better stay with him than your family?” the prince asked coldly making Rhiannon’s mouth twitch.
“I just found out that I have a family. You want to leave my family and go with you then what if I am rejected or treated badly, mmh? You know I am just an illegitimate child,” Rhiannon said despite it being hard for her to say it out loud.
However, she understood her birth and everything and thought that it would be best if she started accepting things as they were and stopped pretending that everything was just perfect.
The king was stunned when he heard her words before starting to laugh.
“My dear royal sister, there is nothing like illegitimate in the royal. Suppose you are our father’s child even though your mother isn’t the imperial queen. In that case, you are a royal princess and will be given the same respect we receive,” the prince said surprising Rhiannon and everyone as the illegitimate children felt envious of Rhiannon.
They also wished that their place had the same rules as they wouldn’t have suffered so much.
“I knew you were married to him but do you love him?” he asked her causing even Octavius' eye to fall on Rhiannon.
This question took Rhiannon by surprise as she knew the circumstances in which she married Octavius. She was also sure that Octavius didn’t love her, he was just reluctant to leave her as he had told her that in his world, there is no divorce.
Seeing her look, the prince looked at Rhiannon and shook his head before coldly looking at Octavius.
“Do you love her?” he asked him as he wanted to know.
He felt that if they sincerely lived with each other, the king and his family wouldn’t object to their marriage and told them to divorce. A big royal wedding would be held as the princess was getting married but if they didn’t, he knew that things wouldn’t go so smoothly between them.
“No,” Octavius shouted immediately like someone who was disgusted by loving Rhiannon.
Everyone was stunned even Rhiannon as she couldn’t believe he could make her a laughingstock. She had chosen to remain silent when asked the question as she didn’t want people to know the circumstances in which they had gotten married. At the same time, she felt like her heart had been pierced.
The prince and everyone else looked at Rhiannon and when they saw the hurt and pain in her eyes and sadness written all over her face, they felt heartbroken for her.
Even the other families pitied her. She was talented, the heir to the Sanders family, and the only princess of the royal family. Her future was bright but now.
The members of the Dragons who were present also hurt and their eyes darkened. Mary also was the same as she couldn’t believe Octavius would say such a thing when he was always trying to win Rhiannon’s heart.
Slowly, Rhiannon got out of Octavius’ hold and distanced herself.
“I will go with you,” she said to the prince as she didn’t want a place where every time she walked around, people would be pointing fingers at her and laughing.
Back at her home, she had become the laughingstock after it was known that she wasn’t a Clark. She did everything possible to gain a foothold in the capital by preparing this banquet to be perfect but she never expected that he would crush what she was trying to build in a second.
Although Octavius had always made a lot of mistakes, she always trusted him that he had the best interest In heat for her but now, she felt like laughing at her.
“You’ve hurt her. She was willing to stay here for you but now. Please be prepared to sign the divorce papers as the royal family wouldn’t put their princess's happiness at risk and make her live the rest of her life in sadness and crying,” the prince said making Octavius look at Rhiannon.
When he saw the pain and hurt in her eyes, he was stunned. He thought that she also didn’t love him and that’s why she didn’t answer the prince’s question but now, he cussed inwardly for making the wrong decision.
“From this day onwards, the Rodrigues and the Andersons are not welcome here at the Phenix Hotel,” Fred said coldly as he walked into the hall.
He had been watching everything and when he saw how their young miss was hurt, he felt her pain and immediately walked into the hall.
His words caused a stir among the crowd.
“What’s the meaning of this?” Old Mr Anderson said coldly as he looked at him.
“What’s the meaning of this? I have never seen anyone love her husband and her in-laws so much more than Rhiannon. She designed, tailored and embroidered the dress herself and she didn’t rest for a whole week as she wanted her mother-in-law to be beautiful just because she loved her man. She booked this hotel, for a whole week. Tell me, if you were the one, would you spend so much money on people whom you don’t love? Even after all the sacrifices Rhiannon made, this man doesn’t have the slightness appreciation and makes her a laughingstock,” Fred said coldly causing the crowd to start murmuring as they had initially thought that it was the Rodrigues who had spent the money to do the party here.
Never expected that it was Rhiannon.
“Rhiannon,” Mrs Anderson called Rhiannon trying to tell her to tell the manager to stop.
“Stop calling my granddaughter, Mrs Anderson. Your son has hurt her and you expect her to continue smiling like nothing has happened? No way!” Mrs Sanders said coldly and angrily.
The Sanders have always been friends with Rodrigues and Andersons family but at the moment, she felt it was better if she broke it.
“I am so disappointed in you, Octavius. You have been trying to win Rhiannon’s heart then you just crush her heart?” Mary said coldly.
“From this day, none of the companies under the Dragon Organisation or any member will ever work with the Andersons or Rodrigues. All the security guards employed by the Rocs Clans and are currently in those two families should stop working for them immediately and terminate their contracts!” She said angrily as she as one of the elders of the Organisation had the right to decide on behave of it.
“BOOM!”
