Octavius couldn’t understand what his wife was trying to do but he knew that even if he asked, the latter was determined not to tell him anything thus he opted to just nod his head, do what he was told then sit back and wait to see what she was up to.
Mary on the other hand had already understood what Rhiannon was trying to do and smiled.
All the banquets that someone from the Andersons celebrated, they always wore their outfits.
At most, Amanda Anderson and her mother were the talented ones in the fashion designing industry thus most always wore their clothes.
Now, that Mrs Anderson was getting old and couldn’t design and make her children’s clothes, Amanda was left to do that as she still managed some of her family’s companies that were involved in that industry.
However, where would the fun be if Amanda designed and wore her birthday dress? Most people would talk ill about her as they claim that she wasn’t willing to wear other company’s brands but in fact, most people tend to forget that Anabelle is a good fashion designer, an international designer.
Now that they had told Rhiannon to make her clothes, it was giving her the limelight as it would be her first time entering the high-class society in the capital. As she saw it, so far the Rodrigues seemed to respect and accept her as their daughter-in-law. Nonetheless, Mary felt that they should celebrate soon as it was unknown what their real intentions were as they weren’t there to see it for themselves.
“Nanny, am hungry,” Rhiannon said as she got out of her aunt Melda’s place with anger even not wanting to first eat dinner.
Nanny nodded her head at her as she had already known that. As someone who had lived with Rhiannon, she could tell some things by just looking at them.
“Well, the food is ready, let’s go and eat,” Mary said as she walked to the dining room while the young couple followed her.
“Make sure that you use this opportunity,” Octavius told Rhiannon as they walked.
The preparations were supposed to be done by Anabelle but they both felt that Rhiannon needed a stand, an opportunity to stand out so that she cannot be oppressed by those rich ladies who wanted to get married to him.
Also, Anabelle had a hidden motive when doing all these as she wanted to see what more Rhiannon knew as she believed that one cannot be taught just a single thing by a mentor.
Mentors always knew a lot of things and tried to pass them on to their apprentices. She remembered her old men and wondered whether Rhiannon’s mentor’s skills were so superior to hers and if she was, who was she? And how could she find her? She also wanted her mentor and her sister-in-law's mentor to be good friends.
That way, they would always help each other in times of trouble. Too sad that she was meant to be disappointed in the future.
Rhiannon felt so energized that she went to her mother’s room and spent the night there designing her in-law's outfits.
Although she had been told to make Amanda’s, she felt that it would be better if her father-in-law matched with her mother-in-law.
She made a lot of designs altogether as it was simple for her since she had done that course in the university and after getting her mother’s design diary book, her knowledge in designing improved and it could be said that she was a master.
If one looked closely at her mother’s, Celestine, and her designs, they could see some similarities but not much as she had been learning how to hide anything that could make one associate her designs and perfumes with her mother. Cause if that happened and their enemy found out, they were meant to be doomed even before she and her servants accomplished something.
Octavius on the other side regretted telling her that as he knew that the latter had not been getting enough sleep since she was arranging the perfume launch and now.
He told her and also helped her as a form of apology for what he did.
He initially wanted to buy gifts for her but was afraid that it might seem that he thought she was a materialistic person. Therefore, he decided to buy everything necessary for her and at the same time make sure to give her something that would make her so happy and forgive him.
He had handed the news and everything to her and was even told a thank you but didn’t know whether he had been forgiven.
The following morning, despite of not sleeping, Rhiannon was in a high spirit but the people around her felt pain when they saw the dark circles under her eyes.
Mary blamed Octavius for it and wanted to reprimand him but felt it wasn’t appropriate when she was just Rhiannon’s servant. If Octavius Butler was present, it could have been another thing as he would be the one lecturing it.
“Why are you so happy this morning?” Octavius asked with a smile as he watched the latter walking towards him.
“Look at these. They are outfits that I have designed for your parents. Which one do you think will suit them well?” Rhiannon asked as she placed all of her designs in front of the latter not caring what he was doing and what he was looking at.
Octavius was so stunned when he saw the designs that he even didn’t hear the way Rhiannon addressed his parents as he would have become angry.
He looked at each of the designs and then looked at Rhiannon who was staring at him eagerly as if waiting to be complimented.
“They are so beautiful,” he said with a smile while Rhiannon rolled her eyes.
“I know. I am the one who designed them thus they are meant to be beautiful just like the designer,” she answered shamelessly causing those around to chuckle.
“Which one do you think is perfect?” Rhiannon said worriedly as she looked at Octavius nervously.
“Why did you think of this kind of design? Its western outfit but at the same time seemed like gowns that were worn in the past but presently only worn by the royals,” Octavius said stunning Rhiannon while Mary felt as if she had been hit by lightning.
She hurriedly walked towards them took the designs and started looking at them.
“How can this be?” she mumbled as her face paled but the young couple heard her.
