“What do you mean nanny?” Rhiannon asked while Mary hurriedly closed her mouth when she realized she had been heard.
“Oh, nothing,” Mary said with a smile, causing Rhiannon to roll her eyes as she had lived with the latter for so many years and knew many things about her.
Therefore, she knew when her nanny had something disturbing her, when she was happy, when she was honest, when she was sad or hiding something.
“Nanny, you know that you can’t hide anything from me, right?” Rhiannon said in a serious tone when she looked at the woman who started panicking when she realized that she had made a very big mistake.
“I was just thinking that your designs are very similar to your mother’s,” Mary said as she forced a smile while Rhiannon shook her head and her eyes darkened as she hated someone lying to her face.
“Are you sure? Just because I was small when mom died doesn’t mean that I haven’t seen my mother’s designs, you know,” Rhiannon said shocking the latter.
The more Mary lowered her head as she didn’t want to speak, the more Rhiannon’s eyes darkened.
“Mary Olsons. Aren’t you going to tell me the truth?” Rhiannon asked coldly.
“Master, I am sorry,” Nanny said immediately as she fell to the ground kneeling and bowing down.
Seeing her actions, both Rhiannon and Octavius frowned while wondering what had just happened.
“I am sorry,” Mary repeated again.
“My mother isn’t here. She is already dead!” Rhiannon said as she used to that form of respect.
Her words woke Mary up as she had been frightened when Rhiannon said her full name and at the moment, she felt like Celestine was back.
“Sorry, my princess,” Mary said with a bow as she stood up while Octavius stared at the latter for a long time.
“Why should I call my mother-in-law master and call Rhiannon princess?” Octavius asked sharply while Mary who had already calmed down looked at his eyes.
“Her mother was my mentor thus she is my master. As for Rhiannon, she is our little princess just the same way you were your parent's prince when you were a kid,” she answered but Octavius felt there was something wrong
Mary sighed in relief when she saw that Rhiannon wasn’t asking what they had been asking and secretly sighed in relief as she thought Rhiannon had already forgotten her words.
“My mother always drew Western designs and sometimes, she would add Eastern,” she mumbled before she walked toward the dining room she felt that if she were to think too much about how everything was happening, she might suffer from a headache which she didn’t want to.
“Octavius, can you call your mother and show them the designs for them to choose?” Rhiannon said eagery as she looked at her husband whose hands were secretly clenched into a fist as he had lied to her.
If he were to talk to his parents to ask them about the designs, everything that he and Anabelle had planned would be in vain.
As Rhiannon was a very sensitive person, she felt that there was something that she didn’t know when she didn’t hear Octavius respond.
Seeing her frown, Octavius hurriedly lowered his head and started looking at the design that was at the top seriously making Rhiannon think that he didn’t hear her as he was busy.
She sighed and shifted her gaze.
“Can you please bring me an omelet and a glass of passion juice?” Rhiannon asked Mary who was standing beside her waiting for her to say what she wanted to take for breakfast.
“In a minute,” Mary said as she turned around to go to the kitchen while Rhiannon stood up.
“Octavius, I will be in Mom’s room. Don’t forget to ask them which design they want so that I can order the fabrics,” Rhiannon said as he looked at Octavius who still had his head lowered.
Hearing her words, he lifted his head and gave her a smile causing Rhiannon to smile back.
“Nanny, I will be in Mom’s room. Please bring the breakfast up there,” Rhiannon said at the kitchen entrance then started walking out.
When she arrived at her mother’s room and shut the door, she sighed then walked towards where she had placed her family heirlooms and opened the box.
She caressed them and her eyes fell on the necklace and bracelets that her mother had told her were her family heirlooms. Not the Sanders but their little family.
At that time, she didn’t understand why she was told to make sure that her father, Mr Clark didn’t know everything. Why she was told that if they saw the jewels and asked her about them, she should say that they were her mother’s heirlooms but Rhiannon knew which ones were the Sanders heirlooms and which others weren’t.
Now, she understood, the necklace and the bracelets belonged to her father’s family. The family she didn’t know about.
She picked the necklace that she had been reluctant to pick before and started caressing it as she looked carefully at it so that she could see whether she would see something that could lead her to her old man.
The more she caressed it, the more the old-looking necklace started lighting up and shining brightly shocking Rhiannon as she had never seen such a thing.
The necklace which originally seemed like ice jade and was white, started turning blue, just like her eyes. The more Rhiannon saw the changes, the more shocked she became as she couldn’t believe that such a thing could happen.
When the necklace was completely blue, it started shining brightly as if it was made of diamond but the color was a sapphire jewel.
The more Rhiannon looked at it, the more she became confused.
She placed it on the table and then took the two little bracelets and discovered that beneath them, were some small earrings.
The bracelets started behaving like the necklace causing Rhiannon’s heart to beat faster as the necklace and bracelets seemed to be called unto her.
Picking the earrings which seemed yellow in color, they started shining and their color started to pale and shine brightly turning to golden.
At the same time, she heard the box slowly start unlocking shocking her.
The box was left behind by her mother and never thought that there was any special thing about the box as it seemed so old.
Rhiannon’s eyes left the earrings that were on her hands and fell on her box.
The box started opening.
Beneath the other jewels, there seemed to be another layer and it was starting to open causing the layer with the other jewels to rise shocking Rhiannon and panicking that they might fall.
In a hurry, she placed the earrings on the table and the box returned to normal, making her frown.
She looked at the earrings and then at the box before deciding to place all the jewels on the table before taking the earrings once more.
When she did that, she took the golden earrings into her hands.
Just as the box was completely opened and she was about to look at what was inside, she heard the door be opened and looked at who was coming in.
Mary was shocked when she saw what was on Rhiannon’s hands and then saw the layer of the box that was floating in the air and her face paled.
“What are you doing?”
