Chapter 274 Truth or Dare
In the dim lighting of the bar, the group of college students sat around a round table, scattered with half-finished drinks and a pile of dice. Laughter and chatter filled the air as the dice clattered across the table, adding to the lively atmosphere. Everyone was eagerly anticipating who would be the next "victim" in their game.
"I lost!" Rick Ruth exclaimed, looking dejected. The dice had not been kind to him, making him the first to face a penalty. After a moment's hesitation, he chose truth.
"Who do you have a crush on?" his classmates asked in unison, their eyes gleaming with mischief.
Rick's face turned red as he stammered, "I... I don't have a crush on anyone."
But his friends wouldn't let it go, pressing him until he finally admitted, blushing furiously, that he had a crush on a girl in their class. The group erupted in laughter, the atmosphere growing even more spirited.
Next up was Abel Garcia, who chose dare. He was tasked with dancing for a stranger in the bar. Initially hesitant, Abel eventually stood up with his friends' encouragement, awkwardly moving his body to the amusement of everyone around.
Then it was Kerena's turn.
She wore a nervous smile, silently praying she wouldn't be asked to do anything too embarrassing.
"Truth or dare?" a guy asked playfully, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I... I'll choose dare!" Kerena bit her lip, feeling a bit anxious. She had no idea that Tenley Cook, sitting beside her, was secretly plotting to embarrass her.
"Alright! Dare it is!" another classmate said excitedly. Tenley leaned in and whispered, "Go ask that guy over there for his phone number!"
Kerena's face turned bright red, her heart racing as her eyes involuntarily glanced at David.
In the bar's dim light, David stood out. Tall and lean, his figure was striking under the soft glow, like a proud pine tree. His chiseled features and deep-set eyes exuded a mature charm, especially under his thick eyebrows.
David's eyes seemed to see right through people, carrying a hint of mystery and sternness. When he squinted slightly, it was as if he could shut out the surrounding noise, making him seem unapproachable. Those eyes, glinting in the bar's light, hinted at countless untold stories, drawing people in, wanting to uncover his secrets.
His high-bridged nose and smooth lines added to his handsome appearance. At that moment, he was sitting on a couch, holding a drink, savoring the tranquility.
His slightly tousled hair caught the light, adding a touch of casualness and rebellion to his look. The black shirt he wore clung to his muscular chest, with the sleeves rolled up to reveal his long wrists, giving him a mature yet stylish vibe. The slightly open collar revealed a small patch of skin, adding a hint of mystery and allure.
In the bar's dim light, David's figure seemed shrouded in a thin mist, making him even more mysterious and captivating. His presence made the surrounding noise fade away, drawing all eyes to him. Even in such an environment, he exuded an undeniable charm, like the brightest star in the night sky, captivating everyone.
"Go on, Kerena! We're all here for you!" her classmates cheered, their voices rising in support.
"I... I can't," Kerena whispered, filled with shyness and unease.
"Don't be afraid, we're all behind you!" Tenley feigned concern, her eyes glinting with malice. She thought to herself that Kerena would surely embarrass herself with this task, making Tenley look better in front of their classmates.
With her friends egging her on, Kerena reluctantly stood up and walked towards David. Her heart pounded, her palms sweaty, as she rehearsed what to say in her mind.
David was sitting by the bar, looking calm and seemingly unaware of her approach. Kerena took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and stood before him, her voice barely audible, "Excuse me, can I get yournumber?"
Her classmates held their breath, eagerly watching the scene unfold. Alexander, sitting next to David, also looked on curiously, wondering how David would respond.
David was momentarily taken aback, a hint of hesitation in his eyes. He had intended to refuse, not wanting to get involved with Kerena. But just then, the bar door swung open, and Sophia walked in. Her entrance was like a breath of fresh air, instantly drawing everyone's attention.
Sophia's gaze swept across the bar, finally landing on Kerena and David.
Sophia's first thought was how unlucky she was to run into David again, even when she was just out for a drink. It seemed like David had a tracker on her, always showing up wherever she went.
Despite her annoyance, Sophia's face remained impassive, as if she didn't care who David was with. She smiled slightly and turned to chat with Bianca, as if the scene before her was of no concern.
"So Mr. Jones got divorced and already has someone new? I always thought you two were one of those couples who grew closer after marriage. Guess real life isn't like the novels. But that girl does look a bit like you," Bianca said quietly, her eyes twinkling with teasing amusement. "She's practically your stand-in."
Sophia chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Finding a stand-in after a divorce? How predictable."
Her tone was casual, as if David's choices didn't affect her in the slightest.
Meanwhile, David had also noticed Sophia. He looked at Kerena, a playful smile tugging at his lips. He replied casually, "Sure." He pulled out his phone and dialed Kerena's number.
Kerena's face lit up with excitement, feeling a sense of accomplishment. She had successfully gotten David's phone number, completing what seemed like an impossible task. Her classmates cheered for her, the atmosphere growing even more lively.
"Kerena, you're amazing!" one classmate exclaimed, eyes full of admiration.
At that moment, someone in the bar recognized David and started whispering, "Isn't that David? I thought he wasn't into women. What's he doing hitting on someone now?"
