Chapter 275 Drinking Alcohol

Tenley stood off to the side, her face dark with jealousy. She had always wanted to outshine her classmates, and now Kerena had managed to get close to David. Tenley clenched her teeth, determined to find a way to embarrass Kerena.

"Such a lucky girl," Tenley muttered under her breath, a sinister glint in her eyes. She thought to herself that the night was far from over, and Kerena's luck wouldn't last.

"Hey everyone, let's change the rules a bit!" Tenley called out, drawing everyone's attention. "How about the loser has to take a shot?"

"Yeah, that sounds more exciting!" The classmates responded enthusiastically, and the atmosphere instantly heated up.

Tenley felt a surge of satisfaction, knowing this was her perfect chance to target Kerena. She calculated how to use her dice-rolling skills to make Kerena lose repeatedly.

The game restarted, and Tenley sat across from Kerena, deliberately cupping the dice in her palm and giving them a controlled shake. Her technique was practiced—she could practically feel the weight and balance of each die as she manipulated them.

She smiled slightly, thinking, 'This time, I'll make sure you're taking all the shots.'

"Your turn, Kerena!" Tenley said innocently, though her eyes gleamed with mischief.

Kerena felt a bit nervous as she picked up the dice and shook them gently, only to roll a low number. Tenley secretly rejoiced, thinking, 'This is just the beginning. I'll make it worse for you.'

In the following rounds, Tenley skillfully controlled the outcome of the dice. Her technique was so advanced that she always managed to roll the numbers she wanted at critical moments. Whenever it was Kerena's turn, she consistently rolled low numbers and lost.

"Another loss for you, Kerena! Time for a shot!" Tenley raised her voice on purpose, and the classmates joined in, making the atmosphere even more lively.

Kerena reluctantly drank, feeling increasingly frustrated. Every time she rolled the dice, it seemed like fate was against her.

"I can win this time!" Kerena encouraged herself, but the result was still a low number.

Tenley laughed triumphantly.

In the noisy bar, Kerena had already had quite a few drinks. Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes had a dreamy look. Her movements became clumsy, and she swayed in her seat, a silly smile on her face, making her look especially adorable.

Whenever her classmates cheered for her to drink, she nodded vigorously, mumbling, "Sure, no problem!" But then she couldn't help but laugh, as if everything had become incredibly amusing.

"Kerena, you're just too cute!" a classmate teased, and everyone laughed at her drunken state. Kerena blinked hard, trying to appear more sober, but the alcohol only made her look more confused.

Sophia sat nearby, occasionally glancing at Kerena, feeling that something was off.

Sophia noticed Tenley's "little tricks" and saw that every time Kerena rolled poorly, Tenley had a smug smile, as if secretly celebrating. Sophia was annoyed with Tenley's behavior but didn't want to cause a scene.

Bianca, a bar regular, also noticed what was going on but had no reason to reveal the truth since she wasn't close to Kerena. Besides, she was already irritated with David, who had just divorced Sophia and was now entangled with another woman.

Most of the classmates at the table were naive college students who simply thought Kerena was having fun and didn't notice Tenley's tricks.

Kerena continued to drink more and more in this environment.

"Another round!"

Tenley filled Kerena's glass again. Kerena excitedly raised her glass, her voice high-pitched and playful, making her look even more adorable.

David, sitting not far from Kerena, had been watching her. Seeing her condition worsen, he felt a pang of sympathy. Kerena's cuteness made him feel protective, while Tenley's deviousness disgusted him.

"If you drink any more, you'll be really drunk." David stood up and walked over to Kerena, swiftly taking her glass from her hand.

Kerena blinked in surprise, then gave a silly smile.

"You've had enough," David said gently but firmly.

He didn't know why he was being so patient with a stranger, why he cared how much she drank.

Sophia watched from the side, feeling a mix of emotions.

She had thought David was cold and unfeeling, but here he was, stepping in to protect a girl he didn't even know.

Sophia wondered if this was the type of girl David liked.

"I'll drink for you," David said softly, his voice gentle yet protective as he looked at Kerena.

David leaned in, casually bringing the glass to his lips. His movements were smooth and confident. His fingers held the glass with a relaxed grip as he took a sip, the liquid disappearing as he swallowed. His expression remained easy, a slight smile forming at the corners of his mouth.

He set the glass back on the table with a casual confidence that didn't go unnoticed. Their classmates watched with impressed looks, a few exchanging glances of admiration.

"He is so cool!" one classmate couldn't help but exclaim, eyes shining with admiration.

Kerena stared at him, feeling a warmth and gratitude in her heart. She had never seen such a carefree man. Every move David made seemed so natural, as if he was the brightest star in the bar. She couldn't help but smile, feeling grateful for his protection.

Sophia watched, feeling a complex mix of emotions about David's chivalrous behavior.
