In the car, Natalie looked at Sean and frowned. From how Vivian had reacted upon seeing him, it seemed the two knew each other from the past.
But Sean acted indifferent, like he was just seeing Vivian for the first time, but Natalie felt like Sean was just acting.
“What is going on? Do you two know each other?” Natalie asked.
Sean looked at her as if he could not understand what she was talking about.
Natalie frowned and asked, “Don’t give me that look. You know exactly what I am talking about.”
Sean cleared his throat and said, “I will explain everything when we reach home, okay.” He pointed at Jojo using his mouth, and Natalie understood.
Sean looked at the time and said, “Since we are already outside, how about we have dinner at the Bluemoon Hotel?”
Natalie did not mind, so she looked at her daughter and asked, “Baby, what do you think? Do you want to eat out today?”
Jojo nodded her head. She did not really mind where she ate, as long as she was with her mom and dad.
Having gotten their consent, Sean called the hotel management and made a reservation.
When they arrived at the hotel, it was just in time for dinner. Sean carried Jojo with one hand and held Natalie with the other.
When they entered the hotel, everyone turned to look at them.
“Wow, what a loving couple. I wish my marriage were as sweet as that one.”
“Just look at how protective that man is. He seems to spoil both his wife and daughter so much.”
“If my husband were half as caring as that man, I wouldn’t have thought of divorcing him.”
The hotel manager was already waiting for them, and the moment he saw Sean, he walked over with a flattering smile on his face, “Mr. Cole, you are here? We have already prepared everything just as you had requested.”
Sean nodded, “Good,”
They walked to the elevator, and just as the door shut, Jason, Vivian, and Jayden came out of one of the private booths.
Jason was stunned, but before he could have a clear look at the woman, the elevator closed.
‘Was that Natalie? And who was she with? And whose baby is that?’
Vivian had also seen Natalie and Sean, and her face paled. She wondered if Jason had been able to recognize her.
Seeing that he was looking at the elevator without even blinking, Vivian became tense. She held his arm and asked, “Babe, what are you looking at?”
Jason shook his head, “It is nothing.”
“Come, I will go and ask the manager why he refused to give me the private room I asked for. I am a VIP here, so I don’t know why he could not give me the room.”
“Sure, let us go.”
Jason had been using that private room for as long as he could remember. It was on the rooftop, and it had a glass roof. He and Jayden loved gazing at the stars, and every time he came to Bluemoon Hotel, he had always been given the room without question.
But today, the manager actually refused, saying that the room had been booked by someone else.
Jason was the richest man in Sterling City, and he could get anything he wanted. Today was the first time someone actually turned him down.
He went to the receptionist and said, “I want to see your manager. Call him right away.”
The receptionist looked at him and spoke in a polite tone, “The manager is busy at the moment. Please, how may I help you?”
“I want the private room on the rooftop. My family and I have always used it, so how come it is not available today?”
“Sir, my boss said that our hotel VVVIP is here today and he requested to have the room reserved for his family, so we can’t really help.”
Seeing that, Vivian flared. She looked at the receptionist and sneered, “And who do you think you are to turn my husband down? Do you know who he is?”
The receptionist looked at them, but her face remained indifferent. “I am sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, but I am just doing my job.”
Seeing that the receptionist knew who Jason was, she looked at her and laughed in disdain, “So, you know who we are, and yet you want to act all high and mighty? Do you know that my husband can buy this hotel with a snap of his finger, and then you will be fired?”
At the thought of losing her job, the receptionist finally became scared, “I… I will call the manager right away.”
The manager had just settled Sean and his family, and he was about to take their orders when his phone rang.
Seeing that it was a call from the receptionist, he picked up and immediately reprimanded, “What is wrong? Didn’t I tell you that I am busy? Do you want to get fired?”
The receptionist swallowed hard; it looked like today was not her best day. Why was everyone threatening her using her job?
“Uhm, boss, I wouldn’t have called you if it wasn't important. Mr. Thompson and his family are causing a ruckus. They want the private room on the rooftop.”
“What?” the manager was stunned, “Hadn’t assigned them the biggest private room in the hotel?”
“Apparently, his son said that he wanted to look at the stars,”
“But they can’t have this room. It has already been occupied.”
“I tried telling them that they could not listen. They threatened to buy this hotel with a snap of a finger and get all of us fired.”
“What?”
Sean cleared his throat and called out to the manager, “Mr. Luc, is there a problem?”
“Uhm, Mr. Cole, there is a VIP who was used to using this room, and now he is causing a ruckus at the reception. He is demanding that this room be given to him.”
“And who could that be?”
“Oh, he is Mr. Thompson, the heir to the Thompson family.”
Natalie frowned upon hearing the name. She could not help but ask, “You mean, Jason Thompson?”
“Yes,” The hotel manager quickly nodded,
The Thompson family had been growing rapidly, and now Jason was the richest man in Sterling City, and messing with him meant risking your business or job.
“Jason Thompson, huh?” Sean called out softly.
“Yes, yes.”
Sean looked at the manager, and his eyes turned cold. He spoke word for word, leaving no room for negotiation, “Tell him to scram, and to never show his face here ever again.”
‘What? That is our VIP!’ the manager screamed in his mind. He looked at Sean with wide eyes.
Seeing that the manager was not leaving, Sean asked, “Do you want me to repeat myself?”
“No… no, sir, I will leave right away.”
“Also, from now on, this room exclusively belongs to my family. If you ever give it to anyone…”
“I understand!”
