Natalie could not wait for the meeting to end so that she could drag Sean to her office and demand answers.
In her new office…
Natalie looked at Sean, her heart still in shock. She could not believe that the man she had left in the house this morning was standing in front of her, and that they were actually working in the same hospital again.
“You…” Natalie did not even know what to say.
Sean enjoyed her stunned look; his heart filled with delight.
“Love, is the surprise good enough?” Sean asked in his deep voice.
Natalie felt her heart skip a beat. What was going on? How did Sean end up in the same hospital as her? When did he even apply for the job?
Sean led Natalie to her chair and sat her down. He poured her a glass of water as he said, “I know you have so many questions, but don’t worry, I will answer all of them.”
Natalie took a sip of water and asked, “How?”
“From the moment you said that you were coming back home, I also started to make plans to move to Sterling City.”
Natalie’s mouth widened. The beating of her heart intensified, and she was afraid that everyone in the hospital might hear it.
“So, you planned on following me here all along?”
“Yeah, but I wanted it to be a surprise. I did not want you to feel pressured or feel like I was forcing myself into your life, so I did everything secretly.”
“So, you knew that I had applied for work here, and you also did the same?”
“About that, believe me, it is purely coincidental. I only found out that we will be working in the same hospital after you mentioned the name yesterday. I wanted to tell you so badly, but I also wanted to see the look on your face once you saw me here.”
“What? So, it was not intentional?”
“Yeah.”
Sean knew that Natalie would not believe him easily, so he took out his phone and showed her the email from the time he applied for the job.
Natalie couldn’t even believe her eyes. Sean had applied two months before her, so there was no way he would have followed her here.
After the initial shock, Natalie looked at Sean with dazzling eyes, “Dr. Sean?”
“Hmm, Dr. Hart.” Sean answered with a tender smile.
Natalie smiled brightly, feeling like she was the luckiest woman on the planet, “Don’t you think the universe is too kind?”
“Hmm, what do you mean?” Sean inquired.
“What kind of crazy coincidence is this? I mean, God knew that I was going to be bored without my best friend, so he decided that we should stick together for better, for worse.”
Sean nodded, feeling happy that Natalie was excited to have him here. He was afraid that she might dislike it, and he was even ready to quit if she showed any slight discomfort because of his presence.
Natalie stood up and opened her arms wide, “Come here, baby. We were meant to be together. Even the universe is in agreement.”
Sean hugged her, his heart giddy with joy. Hearing such words come from the love of his life made his body temperature rise, and he wanted nothing more than to tear off her clothes and feel her skin on his.
Natalie just wanted to give Sean a simple hug, but the man ended up hugging her tightly, as if he wanted to merge with her.
Being that it was their first day at work, Natalie was afraid that people might think that they had no work ethic if they saw them.
She patted Sean on the back and whispered, “Honey, we are at work.”
Sean nodded as he slowly let go of Natalie. He gently bit her on the neck, his voice deep with suppressed emotions as he said, “I know, love. I just felt excited after hearing your words.”
He then pointed at the area just below his belt.
When Natalie saw it, she covered her mouth, afraid that she might scream.
This, she hadn’t really said anything flirty, so why was Sean so hard? It did not make any sense.
“I…” She tried to explain herself, but her gaze kept drifting back.
Sean felt his throat run dry. His Adam's apple moved up and down as he tried to swallow the lust that was surging forth.
“Hey, stop looking. I will be fine. You know I have been suppressing my feelings for you for five years, so my body is still in the excitement mode. But I will be fine.”
Natalie looked at him and shook her head in regret.
“What is that for?” Sean asked. Not understanding the meaning behind her expression.
“It is nothing. I just feel regretful that I can’t help you, honey.”
“Dr. Hart, are you teasing your man? Do you know the consequences?”
Natalie looked at her man and smiled cheekily, “Honey, you know that I like it the most when you punish me. Especially…” She removed her tongue and licked her lips seductively.
Sean had no choice but to drink several glasses of cold water just to quench the fire burning in his body. This woman was becoming way too dangerous, and he needed to tame her before she could charm everyone.

“What is with you being a part-time doctor? Do you have other plans?” After all the flirting, the two finally had a serious discussion.
“Before I joined the medical school, I used to have a few businesses under my name. I told you about my past and the reason I wanted to become a doctor.”
Natalie nodded.
“I had to bury the other side of me for some time as I fulfilled the wish I had made to my mom on her deathbed. I have always dreamed of setting up my business here in Sterling City, and now that I am here, I couldn’t let this opportunity go to waste.”
“Love, I wasn’t planning on hiding anything from you. I just couldn’t find the chance to tell you everything. Please, don’t misunderstand me.”
Natalie waved her hand, “It is okay, honey. We will figure everything out as time goes by. Just be careful and take care. In case you need any contacts for your business startup, don’t be shy to ask. I have a few friends that I can call up.”
“Thanks, love. I will make sure that you and our daughter have the best life. You can just focus your mind on saving lives.”
“Okay.”
“I love you, Dr. Hart.”
“I love you, Dr. Sean.”
