S2- The Mastermind's Fate

S2- The Mastermind's Fate
"You don't have it now, but you will soon. Hurry up and get better, don't forget, the tenth day is our big day," Magnus said as he held her hand, his face full of anticipation.
"Everyone outside thinks you're going to marry Astrid Thorne. What does that have to do with me?" Senna turned her face away and snorted.
"Are you jealous?" Magnus couldn't help but chuckle. "You're the mother of my two children, yet you're still so jealous."
Magnus reached out to turn her face back to him, gently brushing her nose with his finger. "I haven't told you yet, Astrid is dead."
"What? Astrid is dead?" Senna asked in surprise. "How did she die?" She had already guessed that Magnus wouldn't let her off after hurting her at the mansion, but she didn't expect him to go as far as killing her.
After the shock, she felt a little pity-it was too easy for her. A woman as poisonous as her should have been sent to prison to rot there.
"She went to the Voss Manor to seek shelter with the old master. The old master didn't want to care about her, so she stabbed him with a dagger. The butler shot and killed her." Magnus said indifferently.
"She stabbed the old master?" Actually, when all was said and done, the old master was the mastermind behind her suffering.
Thinking about how she had endured so much because of him, Senna clenched her fists and asked softly, "How badly was he hurt?"
Magnus knew she hated him. The old master's actions were indeed despicable. He gently caressed her long hair, his voice hoarse and tinged with sadness. "He's too old. With such a serious injury and losing so much blood, it's a miracle that he's still alive. The doctor said he may never wake up... His remaining days will just be spent in a hospital bed."
"He's paralyzed?" Senna widened her eyes in shock.
Magnus held her tightly, resting his chin on her shoulder as he nodded gently. "Maybe this is his retribution."
Senna couldn't help but feel a sense of rue. Who could have imagined that the old master, so proud and calculating, who once controlled everything in his hands, would now end up paralyzed in a hospital bed, never able to direct others' lives or control anything again?
"He ruined my life. I'll never forgive him." Even if he's paralyzed, she would never feel sorry for him. He tried to make deals with the tiger, so he should have known one day he'd be bitten by it. Astrid was never a kind person.
"I won't ask you to forgive him," Magnus said. He didn't want to do anything selfish or force her into anything.
His understanding made her feel relieved.
"Alright, you've just woken up, your body is still weak, don't strain yourself too much. Rest well. The doctor said your body is too fragile, and if you don't take care of yourself, our daughter could be in danger at any time," Magnus said, gently placing her back on the bed, his voice filled with concern.
"Daughter?" Senna's lips twitched. "How do you know it's a girl?" The child was still so small, just conceived. How could he know the gender so soon?
"One son is enough. I just want a little girl as cute and beautiful as you." He thought about how their son had just fiercely stopped him from approaching Senna earlier, and a chill ran through his heart.
Their son had come to collect debts, fighting with his father over his mother. A daughter, however, would be more caring and cute.
Senna lightly placed her hand on her abdomen, a warm smile spreading across her face. If she could have a daughter, it would be perfect, completing their family.
"Sleep, I'll stay here with you." Magnus longed to be by her side twenty-four seven. His love, once lost and now found, made him cherish her all the more.
"I'll rest well. You don't have to worry about me. Go spend time with Maxime. After all, you've been absent from his life for over two years. If you spend more time with him, his hostility towards you will lessen," Senna said, feeling a little embarrassed.
In the past, she had often made Maxime think his father was a bad man. Now, wanting him to change his opinion about Magnus, it would not be easy.
"It's fine as long as Tobias is with him. I want to be with you," Magnus replied.
After all, a son couldn't be more important than a wife. Building a relationship with him could take time; they had a lifetime ahead of them.
Senna took his hand and placed it on her face, closing her eyes to sleep peacefully.
Magnus gazed at her with deep affection, silently swearing that from now on, he would never let anyone hurt her, not even himself.
