Chapter 59-With Him

My knees were starting to become weak. I am scared. I was disgusted if the scene, and I wanted to escape. I want to fly away from here and make sure to never ever return. I wanted to go far from him until I could never see his face. Until I manage to forget the cruelty of this scene, the bitter truth of Cassius' personality. I want to.. shift home.

My feet moved by themselves, and I decided to step backward. One.. Two... Three... I am glad I was able to lift myself. I knew I couldn't. I am well aware. But because of the embarrassment and disgusting feeling, I decided to take the initiative. I can't keep on loving him. The woman he's kissing.. she's someone I thought he'd never make out with.

Eloise.. she betrayed me? I thought we could be somewhat friends. Maybe we can get along well and eventually declare each other as best friends, so why? Why did she do that? How dare she kiss my man in front of me? I am aware of the fact that she once liked him, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she would agree to become Cassius' mistress. I.. can't believe this.

That fact alone, I can't swallow it. The pain was too much to handle, and I felt like I was going to explode. This is far more worse than his bite, the venom on my body, all the poison—this is far by the worst, I want to kill them both. I want to lay my hands on them and make sure they'll pay the prize for hurting me. I want them to die.. a slow and painful death. I want them to suffer the way I am suffering right now.

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. I want Cassius to come back, begging for me to take him back. But.. who am I to experience that? Who am I for Cassius to beg? I am nothing. I walked away while tears flowed down my eyes. My whole body ached, and I had nothing to lean on. Not even someone to comfort me. As I saw the light of the cafe, I knew I was close to him. Instead of seeing Gael enjoying his food, I was surprised to bump my forehead into someone's chest, and I immediately knew who owned the body. I lifted my head and met Gael's eyes. He was confused.

His face was full of wonder, thinking why he'd see me in this kind of state. He's probably scared, amused, or maybe questioning himself—I don't know. I am not in my right mind to guess the obvious. "Hey? What happened?" Gael asked me and wiped off my tears. He held my chin high as he met my eyes full of concern. His voice was soothing, and it gave me a relaxing sensation I had never felt before. I turned my eyes away from him, hoping he'll stop asking me why. Otherwise, I would collapse, and my eyes would undoubtedly give off thousands of tears. Tears that I cannot hold back.

"Hey? Did someone hurt you? What the hell happened in there?" he asked again. "I was so worried that I decided to follow you. I did not expect to see you here crying like a baby who lost some toy to an enemy. Look, Raya, I need to know why you're whining right now. I am deeply concerned about you and know you're in deep pain. How can I even help you?" he asked worriedly and held my face to meet his again. This is awkward, I felt the need to hug him. I opened both my arms and immediately enveloped his body through mine. I buried my face in his chest as I tightened the warmness of our embrace.

Tears flowed out of my eyes like a stream of water from a long fall. I am so.. stressed. I felt sad, for God's sake. I want to let it all out in one moment, and that would be this. Gael placed his warm palms on my hair and gently caressed it. He made sure he was being careful and eventually ran down his fingers through my hair. He was shushing me as he wanted me to stop.

"I can't help you if you won't tell me what's happening. I can't guess it either, and I am not some witch. Please allow me to understand your situation so I can help you. Raya, I am more willing. I want to make you stop crying, as I don't like seeing you this way," Gael said and caressed my back. I was loaded with water inside, and it overflowed in me. The only way to let it all out was by crying. "I don't know, and I just want to hug you," I sniffed and made some excuses.

"Okay, I'm alright now," I said and wiped off my face. "Your nose was too red. What should we even do?" he asked, not knowing what move to make next. "Just let it be; it won't even bother you the next day. Look, Gael, I am fine. Maybe, I was just being moody for some reason," I said as I laughed and tried making the atmosphere lighter, which is.. a mistake.

"Okay," he said and walked me out of the place. I looked back and reminisced about that thing. Cassius and Eloise betraying me.. how painful can it be? "Please take me home. I want to go back home," I requested. "Wait, what, no? You are not going home. You need treatment, and it is way better here," he suggested and acted like he would scold me. "No.I want a new home, Somewhere new with you," I said and Gael looked at me confusedly, and I immediately knew what he was going to say. He’ll probably ask me why I am being like this or if I am just joking around or tripping.

“With me? The hell you have a mate, to begin with,” he said. Hmmm… “Okay? And?” I asked. “You’re going to cheat?”
