Chapter 97- Ring A Bell.

Morning rolled around quicker than Viola had expected an had she made her way down the stairs, she was faced with her two Alphas who gave her questioning looks,

"You slept here?", Liam asked, a small smile surfacing on his lips, causing Viola to roll her eyes as she finished the flight of stairs,

"Yes, I did", she shrugged it off as if it was nothing because it really was that... nothing.

"With Asher?", Levi asked gruffly with a completely different and opposite expression on his face, compared to his brother, he did not like the idea of her being under the same roof as Asher one bit. Her eyes nearly buldged out of their sockets at him suggestion and a frown fell onto her lips,

"No", she huffed, "He asked me to sleep in a guest room and left", she explained vaguely making Levi raise up an eyebrow, "Nothing happened! It was just passed curfew and he didn't want me breaking his damn rules. Besides, when as Asher ever cared about anyone other than himself?", as these words left her lips, his scent wafted through her nostrils. Her body stiffed up and she froze on the spot, dread was evident on her face an as much as she wanted to turn around to face him, she just couldnt bring herself to do it.

He trudged down the stairs, deciding within him that he wasn't going to act like he had heard what she had just said, he had a job to do and the sooner he got it done, the sooner he could show her just how much he only cared for himself. The tension in the room was hot, heavy and uncomfortable- so uncomfortable that Liam and Levi felt the need to excuse themselves and just abandon their Beta with the clearly pissed off Alpha.

Asher cleared his throat and looked to his brothers, completely ignoring Viola's presence, "Shouldn't you both be on your way to your pack?", he asked, lifting an eyebrow and crossing his arms over his chest,

"Well, we were about to move out when a guard told us about what happened last night", Liam stated then placed a frown on his lips, "Were you even planning on telling us?",

Asher sighed, "It is nothing, the man is not even affliated in this in anyway. For all we know, it could be a dead end and I do not want to waste your time", his tone suggested that he wanted them to drop the topic but of course, Levi was too strong-headed to comply,

"We are allies Asher, you have to tell us things like this and also, did you even question why a rogue that had no connection with Addilyn was doing on your pack grounds? For all you know, he could be lying".

"Of course, I fucking questioned it! I might be a lot of things but I'm not dumb, okay?", Asher said as he began to walk away, he had a long day ahead of him and arguing with his brothers or rather, brother was not part of his schedule.

"I could tell you if he's lying or not", all three heads turned to the ony woman in the room, "While I was still with her, I met almost all her men- all the men she trusts enough to send down here. If he is one of her men, I will recognise him",

"Fine then", Asher nodded, "You can see the man", he knew that if he declined, it would just lead to another arguement and he wasn't in thst particular mood.

He began walking away again and the three of them followed behind him until they got to a trap door guarded by three hefty men, "The dungeon is down there", he said as one of the men unlocked the padlock and lifted the huge door open, "I'd advice that you cover your noses first, the cleaners do not get to this side of the pack", as they made their way down the stairs, they understood why Asher had asked them to do what he said.

Down there smelt like death, blood and rotten flesh. It had the pungent smell of dying corpes- extremely horrible, so horrible that it made Liam cough in disgust, "What the hell are you keeping down here?", as he opened his mouth to speak, he could somehow taste the smell and it left a very bitter taste on his tongue,

Asher shrugged, unbothered, "Prisoners, weapons, torture devices, rotten shit... you know, thngs that are usually in dungeons?", they gave him an incredulous look which he just shrugged off and kept on walking. They passed a few cells that actually held people in them, one particular man catching the eye of Viola. The man stared at her deeply as if he was trying to ravish her soul and she couldn't help but stare back. Something about the man intrigued her and before she could stop herself, she started moving towards him, forgetting the men she was following. She was lost in the eyes of this man and her mind had gone blank completely- he was calling her and she was answering...

Until, someone touched her shoulder, the contact causing warmth and tingles to spread through her body and it was only then that she realized how cold she was. She wrapped her arms around herself and crouched down slightly, breaking eye contact with the man. Asher who was now standing behind Viola gave the man a sound stare, causing him to place a smirk on his face and back away into the darkness.

"Let's go", Asher ordered, taking her hand in his without thinking and pulling her away from the man's cell. Ignoring the fireworks passing through his hand and into his body, he lead her back to the group and immediately dropped her hand, fighting the urge to grab it back, "Do not look at anyone! They are all here for a reason", he sighed, "This was a bad idea, you're going to get yourself killed",

"What on earth was that?", she was so confused and it was evident on her features, "After looking at that guy, I just blanked out, I...", she couldn't begin to explain what it was like,

"That guy's name is Valkry, he is a soothsayer who practices dark magic", Asher explained as they moves along.

"Soothsayer? So he tells the future?", Levi asked,

"Yes, but that's not all, he also specializes in hypnotism, casting and the likes", he said further and turned to Viola, "He managed to hypnotize you because you were staring at him for too long, he is too powerful for his own good- that's why he's here". Viola was still confused and was desperate to know more about this Valkry,

"I thought soothsayers didn't exist", she stated,

"Well, they hardly", he supplied, "They are extremely rare to find and most of them have evil inside of them- they mostly consult the dark side and nothing good comes out of that", he turned to his brothers, "She is still dazed, his spell hasn't worn off yet so watch her closely and make sure she doesn't leave your side or do anything stupid like break him out",

"What would have happeed if he had completed the spell?", se had to ask, although she dreaded his answer.

"You would've turned you into his slave which means, you would head to his every commad and wish without a choice or say. Only he would be able to break the spell... let's just thank whoever is up there that nothing happened", he pressed his lips into a thin line."We are here", he said as he opened the gate, which looked far more secure than the bars used to hold the other prisoners,

"Don't you think you should consider getting this type of barrier for Valkry instead of plain old bars?", Liam suggested, "I mean, what about if he is able to hypnotize one of your guards", he tried to reason.

"Down here, he can only hypnotize women, men are immune to his powers here. Women are hardly brought here; unless they do something wrong, that is", he sighed, "I try my best to keep women out of this place",

"But yet, you were more than willing to throw Viola in here", Levi spat but his words were ignored by Asher who turned to Liam,

"There is a gate here because this is were we keep our suspects- its like a questioning chamber until i decide if they are free to go or moving to the cell. While in questioning, they need maximum protection and this gate does the trick- touch it", he urged hus brother. He looked unsure as reluctantly moved his hand to touch the steal door. Once in contact, he immediately backed away, retracting his hand and bringing it to his chest as he hissed in pain,

What the hell, man?", he practically screamed as he blew air onto his burnt palm,

"It's laced with Wolfsbane", Asher said lowly, making sure that no prisoner could hear him, "As Isaid, maximum protection", he pushed the door open wider for them with his bare hands, "I drink Wolfbane like it's water, it has no effect on me", he pointed out. They made their way into the room and Asher made sure to lock it behind him, "Raise his head up", he told one of the guards who stood beside the rogue. The man grabbed the rogue by his hair and lifted his head up, "Now tell me Viola, does his face ring a bell?".
