Chapter 16 SIXTEEN

Chapter 16 SIXTEEN
"What did you do?" Brienne inquired as she noticed Raven approaching her. Raven was about to kiss her, but Brienne turned her head away from him.
"Baby? What did I do wrong?" Raven asked and held Brienne's hand.
"I heard what happened to the employees involved in the rumours," Brienne said. Raven's expression changed. He became serious all of a sudden.
"I did not do anything," he said, but when he noticed that Brienne was not looking at him, Raven let out a sigh. "I just told Johnson to investigate, and he found out that aside from the rumours they spread, they also misappropriated the company funds," he added. Brienne looked at him, raising her eyebrows.
"I guess it's fine," Brienne said and heaved a sigh.
"Is there anything wrong, baby?" Raven asked; this time he successfully held Brienne's hand and pulled her closer to him.
"Yes," Brienne said. "Now that they know you were involved, they keep pestering me. They were attempting to win my approval," she continued. Her co-workers did it nonstop; even her manager, whom she thought wouldn't tolerate things, was also so unusually kind to her that it bothered her.
"I'm sorry, baby. I should go and tell Johnson about it," Raven said, and Brienne stopped him.
"No, it's alright. I will just ignore them," she replied and went inside Raven's car. Raven smiled and followed Brienne. He went to the driver seat and started the car.
"Baby," Raven started. "Have you decided about the offer I made? About you staying in my house?" he added. He was a little hopeful that Brienne could finally give him an answer.
Brienne bit her bottom lip and tightened her grip on her bag. She glanced at Raven, who was driving, and she knew he was waiting for her answer.
"The day after tomorrow," Brienne said. Raven hit the brake just in time for the stoplight and glanced at Brienne.
"W-What?" Raven asked, and his eyes widened.
"I will stay in your place," she said, more clearly this time. Raven cursed under his breath, and his smile widened.
"I would really love to hug and kiss you right now. Too bad I'm driving, but I'm ecstatic," Raven said. "You made me so happy, baby," he added.
They arrived at the Brienne apartment, and Raven eagerly parked the car and went inside. They rode the elevator, and when they entered Brienne's apartment, Raven pinned Brienne against the wall and kissed her senseless.
"Hmmm..."
"Thank you for agreeing," Raven said and lifted her up. His blue eyes stared straight at hers, and the expression he had was something Brienne couldn't decipher.
Raven leant in and kissed her lips, slowly this time as he savoured every second. Brienne wrapped her arms around Raven's neck and kissed him back. The kiss suddenly felt needy and deep. Raven sat on Brienne's creaky bed, smiling in between their kisses.
"I could finally take you on a comfortable bed," he whispered and continued. Raven brushed her hair away, licked her neck, and then returned to her lips.
"Can't you come with me today?" Raven asked and looked at Brienne with pleading eyes. Brienne rolled her eyes and got down.
"I can't; I still have to pack my things and talk to the owner," Brienne replied.
"We can do that today," Raven said, smiling. Brienne shook her head.
"No. Besides, it's already late, and I'm tired," Brienne whispered. It wasn't her, but the baby in her stomach is making her sleepy. Raven pulled her closer, making her sit on his lap.
"Do you want to sleep?" Raven asked when Brienne yawned. Brienne snuggled closed, inhaling Raven's smell that calmed her body.
"Yeah," Brienne said.
"You can sleep," Raven said. "I'll go ahead once you do," he added. Brienne gazed at him as he carried her and gently placed her on the bed. "Close your eyes now, baby," Raven said, smiling. Brienne closed her eyes like she was told to and drifted to sleep.
Raven, who noticed Brienne is in deep sleep, went to her cabinet and found a towel. Raven proceeded to the small sink and dampened the towel. Raven then went back to Brienne and started wiping her body. He removed her shoes and office uniform and changed them into her sleeping clothes. Once he finished, he kissed Brienne's forehead and meticulously cleaned her apartment. Raven took the sticky note he had found, wrote something, and stuck it where Brienne could immediately see it. Before he went out, he sent a last glance at Brienne and locked her door.
"Flint, are you there?" he said, knocking on the unit where Flint was staying. His warrior immediately opened the door and greeted him.
"Yes, Alpha?" Flint asked.
"Come with me and report while we walk," Raven said, and they both went out of the building.
"Is that all?" Raven asked when they finally arrived, where he parked his car.
"Yes, Alpha," Flint said.
"Good, you made a good decision dealing with that man trying to break inside her unit," he said, his eyes darkening. Flint reported that someone tried to break inside Brienne's unit. Good thing she wasn't there, and Flint was on guard. He immediately apprehended the intruder and told the owner about them.
"Thank you, Alpha," Flint said and bowed his head. Receiving praise from the Alpha of the pack filled him with pride and happiness.
"Brienne's coming to the pack. She's going to live with me in the packhouse," Raven said.
"Does the future Luna know about us, Alpha?" Flint asked. Raven smiled at the thought of Brienne becoming his Luna but dropped when he realised the gravity of Flint's question.
"I haven't told her yet," he replied and heaved a sigh. "I'm looking for the right time to tell her. When she arrives at the pack, I want you to return two weeks later. Take this order as your vacation. I don't want her to be surprised seeing you in the pack. I will handle the rest after that," he added.
"Understand, Alpha," he said.
"Where's Dex?" Raven asked.
"He's probably inside his unit across the street, Alpha," he replied.
"Relay the order to him. I have to go, Flint. Continue guarding my woman while I'm gone; I'm counting on you," Raven said and tapped his warrior's shoulder.
"I will, Alpha," Flint said. Raven went inside his car and drove away. He turned the radio on and listened to the music while driving. He felt conflicted. Raven was excited for Brienne to come to his pack, but at the same time, he was afraid of her finding out that he was not an ordinary man but a werewolf.
