CHAPTER 111; A TRADE

CHAPTER 111; A TRADE
XANDER

The voices from the hallway reaches my ears and I don’t fail to recognize my mate’s voice and scent amidst the smell of blood. I tug on the chains as if it will suddenly break and set me free. What a joke I have become, I can’t even make a move to reach my mate. She’s in the lion’s den, she’s not supposed to be here or anywhere around the Netherlands, if only Gabriel had made it out without trying to save me, he would have reached out to them by now. There are so many traps in this city, not just in this pack, including the Crescent Moon pack, there is Gabriel at the pack house, and there is Clara at the warehouse. Which is where she’s going to be taken to soon. According to what Clara had said they were supposed to get her to save me, tricking her that we are at the warehouse, but it seems Selene had ruined their plans.

She got ahead of herself by killing Gabriel and boasting at Cierra’s faces. I guess she wanted to show off to Cierra that she’s wining. But then again, how did Gabriel know I am here, if he’s working with Cierra and Cassius, plus the fact mother’s last words were to meet with Gabriel, it seems he has the power to save us, probably he had but now…

Have they all been working for long, why do they all suddenly trust him. My guess is Gabriel has betrayed the Robertson and from the way he was determined to save me, could it be he’s trying to find redemption or he has his own selfish desires?

Just as I am lost in thought I hear Mr. Roberston yelling at his daughter, proving I was right, Selene’s act has ruined their plans, however just as the shouting goes on, the body laid with blood struggles to his feet. Groaning as he rises to his feet.

My heart jumps and my eyes widen.

“Fifty-two years of living and I have never seen a man resurrecting, could this be my last day on earth?” Olive mutter by my side. Proving I’m not the only one witnessing what is in front of me. I thought he was long dead, he has been lying on the ground, I couldn’t see the heaving of his chest yet hear he is on his feet staggering towards me as he struggles with a key in his pocket.

“You must help my daughter” he manages to utter with so much struggle in his voice, his are red, body unable to keep standing with the knife still dug into his abdomen. With shaky hands he drives the key into the lock on my neck then the ones on my hands before he stares at me, tears trickling down his cheeks.

“I thought I would be able to redeem myself and beg your mother’s soul forgiveness,” He chuckles bitterly, coughing out blood.

“But I guess I will be meeting her in heaven before I descend to where I truly belong, but I need you to protect my daughter, she can forever see me as the evil man in her life, she can forever curse me, but male sure she’s never harmed” He says handing over the key to me.

I don’t know how to feel about this. It is sad he’s about to die before his redemption, however, this is what I wanted since he killed my father. Before I can respond, he falls on to his knees, eyes shutting before his body hits the ground.

“This looks like a drama, one I shouldn’t be involved in, just pass me the key” Olive says from the side but instead I unlock the chains binding my leg and bend down to Gabriel to feel his pulse. It’s silent, there’s no beating anywhere around his body. And my stomach twists, both Cierra and I have lost two people just in a few days, hell the first person I’m taking down once I’m out of here is Damien. How dare he trick me and collides with the Robertson’s against his own family.

I search all over Gabriels’ clothing, he did have a gun right before his crotch. It’s stupid to think he passed in here with all these and no one noticed them. But I grab everything ignoring the sergent’s plead to release him.

“Let me go!” The familiar voice causes my heart to jump. I don’t have to hear it twice to know something is happening to Cierra out there.

“You are coming with us” Mr. Robertson says fierce and before I can think I rush out and take the chance open for me as I pull Selene closer to me, my hand around her neck and a gun pointed to her head.

“Let my mate go” I growl, eyes blurry with rage, I could shoot the female in my arms, she’s my mother’s killer and orchestra to everything I have been through.
