CHAPTER 112; EYE FOR AN EYE
CHAPTER 112; EYE FOR AN EYE
CIERRA
At this voice, I immediately turned to him, eyes widened in shock, and there he was, there he was.
Maybe it’s because of the losses I have had these few days, maybe I didn’t believe I would get to see him, maybe my fate disappeared the minute Mr. Robertson ordered the guards to capture me.
With Selene at gunpoint, Xander can buy us some time, all I have to do is get away from these two guards. But I can barely pull an arm away, their grip is just too tight.
“You won’t dare” Mr. Robertson spit with boldness nodding at the other guards to attack Xander but on that point, he redirects his gun to Selene’s thighs and without hesitation he pulls the trigger, followed by a loud scream, piercing through the thick damp walls of the dungeon.
Everyone freezes, Mr. Robertson watches with wide eyes as his daughter cries in pain and fear, while blood spills down her thighs. At this point she’s unable to stand on her own, Xander’s arm pressing on her throat is what is keeping her standing. I am stunned that Xander could do such a thing.
“One finger on my head and the next bullet is going into her head” Xander threatens.
With the fire burning in Xander’s eyes, I don’t think it’s just any threat, if they should let me go, someone is going to have their brains blown out.
“Xander Son, we can talk this out, you cannot kill your childhood friend,” Mr. Robertson says softly and I can’t but wonder if he thinks we are fools. His soft tone is only more aggravating; does he have some spell in his mouth because aside that I see no reason why either of us will listen to him.
“A friend that killed my mother, a friend that hurt my mate, I am going to end all of you. I must end all of you. I must have your head hung for tricking my family and I”
The pain in Xander’s voice is inevitable, he must have had faith in them, even though it was only little enough to cover the belief they won’t harm Elizabeth, but it seems they crossed a great line. What is more shocking is the fact Selene is the one to have killed Elizabeth. Of course, Elizabeth must have handled her in a normal state, she must have been in a very much vulnerable state not to be able to defend herself.
Just the thought of the shock in her eyes finding out Selene was about to do something unbelievable is what causes my heart to tighten.
“You must be confused. Selene would never do that to you, right? Selene my daughter tell him you did no such thing” Mr. Robertson says to the female still crying in pain.
He must love his daughter so much to the point he’s trembling and sweating. One doesn’t need a glass to know he’s the weakest among the Robertsons, I have a feeling the biggest monster we would have to face is Selene’s mother, she’s not just the backbone of this family, she’s everything. Her portraits are everywhere as if she’s the ruler of the pack.
“I did Father, let’s not lie anymore, I’m tired of all these, all I wanted was my love but look where it got us” She cries out, tears missing with sweat, blood still spilling.
“Love, you call killing the people I love, love? Okay, how about you have a taste of your own medicine” Right there Xander does the unexpected. Maybe shooting Selene was a more expected event than pushing her aside, swirling and kicking off the guards that approached him before pushing Mr. Robertson to the wall while I don’t hesitate to take advantage of the distracted guards as I pull my hand away from one guard kicking one away before turning to the next and nodding his nose sending him bleeding profusely. I bless my father’s existence for giving me such a strong forehead, I never knew it would be this useful one day.
With that, I slit my dress to my upper thigh pulling a gun out. Nadine had made me wear this, in disguise such a harmless dress, that no one would ever notice I have a gun strapped just by my shorts. And thanks to that I am able to shield Xander.
A gun sound echoes through the walls of the dungeon as a wide open eye Mr. Robertson slides down the wall, head unsteady an indication of the fact he has been shot right in his head.
The gun sound is followed by a loud cry from the female on the ground barely able to move with her bleeding legs. While Xander stood before the body, shoulders high and tensed, jaw clenched as he glares at the dead man.
“Why? Why you Xander?” Selene cries out, the guards have all rushed to shield her, not bothering to fight Xander, they couldn’t anyway, not when they are this little.
“How does it feel to have your loved one die before you?” Xander states coldly without shifting his gaze from the dead man.
“It’s not fair Xander, you all started this” Selene cries out so loudly as she continues, her words almost unbelievable. What does she mean by we started this? It is their greed that caused all this. Despite my thoughts, I don’t think I’m in a place to speak. This is Xander’s fight and what I can do here is protect him.
“It’s not fair! Your parents killed my brother, h-how can we not, why can’t we have our revenge” My eyes shoot up at her words.
“They didn’t even let his body go cold. They used an innocent baby for their stupid ritual”
Now both Xander and I are staring at Selene with shock, however, I can’t help but recall that day at the vault. The day of the ritual.
