CHAPTER 110; A STEP TO VICTORY

CHAPTER 110; A STEP TO VICTORY
CIERRA

The compound gate shuts behind me and the Alpha female walks into the mansion, while the guard that was once mounted by her side begins to approach me. Certainly, they are sent by her to escort me or drag me in.

I walk with them peacefully, and it’s fortunate for me that I have not been dragged with the firm-faced bodyguard who looks like they are ready to pull their guns out at any time and shoot me right on the spot.

The hallway in the mansion is narrow but long and then comes the choice of interior designs. It’s nothing I would ever want to see even in hell. It’s dark, gloomy and passes on the energy of evil, just the sharp scent of metal causes my skin to crawl and my heart to beat faster. The blue moon pack house is brighter than this and the crescent moon pack house is the total opposite of this, right from the doorstep you can smell peace, the artworks in the Crescent moon pack represent Power, peace, and freedom, but here feels like I am walking in the hallway of hell, the artworks here are more of snakes, bats carvings, dark mounting paintings and everything is colored red and black, making the insides look darker than the outside. I’d rather fight on the outside than in here, it scares me and it’s unbelievable that people live in here.

My hands ball into a fist as I suck in my breath trying to shut out the metallic scent, and when we finally come to a halt I am forced to release my breath. We are out in the open again, but it doesn’t take long to get into a darker building lit with only fire lamps. I don’t need a banner to tell me this is a dungeon, it’s no different from the pack house. There is still the smell of metal but a familiar scent beats it as I walk closer and closer to a particular cell, my heart beating faster while my pace slows down as I slowly come to terms that he could be in one of those cells.

But I halt in my steps when the tall figure steps before obstructing me from meeting the one I came to take back.

“Do you really think you can take him back from me?” Selene’s voice echoes through the passage of the dungeon, her lips tugged into a smirk as she crosses her arms.

I grit my teeth and glare at her.

What does she take Xander for? Does she really think she can fill my absence, Xander never loved her, she does look like the right one for him, she has the power and the beauty. She’s exactly what a ruler needs. That is what I thought, now…now that she has pulled such a move, that she has shown her fangs, now that I know who she really is, I think everything is a waste. She’s born into the house of snakes and it double with her. Her obsession and desperation are utterly disgusting and only a masochist would want to be with her.

Her pride is over the roof, and her heart is darker than the dimly lit dungeon, not even Xander can change her ways, she’s selfish and heartless, if she ends up with Xander, he would double his trouble and make his life a living hell.

Which is why I can’t let her have him, I would rather kill her and lose my life than live and watch her ruin my mate’s life.

A sudden rush of anger flows through me, my fist tightening as my stomach twists at her smirk, a sudden boldness hitting me. I have killed once, and I hesitated but staring at Selene right now, the urge to pull out the gun from where I had hidden it under the straps of my dress, heightens. At the same time, I don’t want her dead, I want her to see the terrible being she is, and I want her to feel the pain she has caused me all through these years.

“What I think is this shouldn’t be an argument, even if I don’t fight for Xander, he will fight to get to me because he loves me Selene, which is something you would never get him to do for you”

The words spill out from my lips and I relish the moment her smirk drops and her eyes darkens.

She lifts her hands as if to slap me but I don’t bulge, I won’t let her trample on me, if she lays a finger on me my response will be shooting her right on the spot but someone intervenes. More like barges into the dungeon and screams out his daughter’s name.

“Selene!!” The familiar voice calls out and her hands drop to the side, tightening to a fist as she looks past me.

“What have you done? Do you think this is a joke?” Mr. Robertson yells with heavy annoyance exuding from his tone.

“I needed to show her only I can have Xander, Daddy” Selene retorts, more like grumbles like a five-year-old.

“What is wrong with you, You let Gabriel in here and killed him, do you know what you have done? You have caused us to lose the trust of the officials, everyone is backing away, scared to end up like him”

Understanding dawns on me, causing my stomach to swirl with excitement. Maybe we still have hope maybe I can use their conflict to my advantage. I can reach out to Cassius through Gabriel’s device and have him get the higher officials to help us. Now they know the Robertsons are going to betray them and not trustworthy it would be easy to get them to switch to our side, I can get there here with the book I left with Nadine, that could be a step to victory
