Chapter 95. The Bitter Truth

“You’ve gone too far, Tamara. I don't think you have the right to accuse my girlfriend. Pearl couldn't possibly lie to me.” Taggart firmly opposed Tamara's opinion and accused Pearl of daring to lie to him. Taggart couldn't believe Tamara's unfounded analysis.

“I can't tell lies, Tagg. She will only use you well, and you will regret choosing him," Tamara was getting bolder and annoyed with Taggart.

“You are unbelievable.”

"What? You gave up the future of the silver moon pack to a girl who just makes you crazy without giving up the same sacrifice. Tagg, think of your pack before anyone else. They don't deserve you like this.”

“I regret talking to you, Tamara Lopez. I thought we could be friends, but I don’t think so." Taggart immediately stood up and left. He paid for dinner without saying goodbye to Tamara. Tamara held back her annoyance for a long time because Taggart kept saying he loved Pearl. Little did Tamara know that Taggart's disappointment would be greater than she thought.

Taggart headed to his car with an annoyed expression. He had gone alone to the restaurant only to regret it later. Taggart immediately drove his car towards the main road. He took several deep breaths and then stopped at a red light.

“Pearl will not deceive me. He couldn't possibly do all that. He's only human. How could he,” Taggart muttered to himself. His hands clenched into fists and hit the steering wheel several times.

Taggart closed his eyes for a moment and decided to turn his car. He finally decided to go to the hospital. Taggart wouldn't have accepted what happened if he hadn't seen it himself.

Meanwhile, Pearl is much healthier. She will rest soon after dinner is finished. But before she finished dinner, her door was opened.

"Good evening," Damian greeted Pearl with a wide and friendly smile. Pearl also smiled. Damian approached and then lowered his body. He hugged Pearl and patted her back gently.

"How are you? You look much better.” Damian smiled and then sat on the edge of Pearl's bed. Pearl smiled and nodded.

“Yeah, I'm much better. Maybe the day after tomorrow, I can go home."

"Seriously?" Damian also grinned broadly. He felt much better when he learned Pearl was now well again.

"Yes. Do you come by yourself?” Pearl started making small talk with Damian in a more relaxed manner.

"Yes. I'm worried thinking about you. Yesterday, I didn't have time to talk much because too many people surrounded me. So, I came at this time because I thought it was the right time.”

Pearl smiled and nodded. Damian grabbed Pearl's hand and held it. He lowered his head and took a deep breath as if there was a burden on his back. Pearl just let it go. Damian seemed to need someone to talk to.

Damian already has plans to admit what his father, Matthew, did. But when he came and saw Pearl, he became doubtful.

“Do you know the mastermind behind your kidnapping? Who has done this?” Damian asked, his expression starting to get worried. He held Pearl's hand as if he was afraid to reveal the truth.

“I don't know for sure. What I know is that they will kill me and then sell my organs, such as kidneys and heart, on the black market. Maybe they are a mafia group. What is clear is that those who do this are criminals." Pearl answered well without any tendencies. Damian was stunned for a moment, looking at Pearl. He took a deep breath and then nodded in understanding.

“What if they find the culprit? I mean, if the police catch him. Are you going to meet him?”

Pearl was a little stunned, looking at Damian. She had a strange question that made it difficult for Pearl to answer. Pearl hadn't even thought that far ahead of meeting the criminal who had kidnapped her again.

"I don't know. I don't want to see them again, but one thing I know, they are not humans. It looks like they are werewolves," Damian widened his eyes. He was quite surprised by Pearl's confession. Damian leaned closer as if he didn't want Pearl to raise her voice.

“How did you find out? Did they tell you?” Pearl shook her head.

“I know because they can hear me. I was very confused about who Damian should tell this. They can read my mind, and I can speak as if using telepathy.”

Damian was still stunned, looking at Pearl. Meanwhile, Pearl did not distance herself from Damian. Their position was very close as if they were kissing if someone looked from behind.

“I haven't had time to say this, but they mentioned about Taggart. I'm afraid Taggart Kellent knows about this.”

Damian became even more amazed. He never thought that fate would turn around and make him get the biggest advantage just like that.

“Pearl!”

Damian and Pearl gasped. They both turned towards the door. Taggart stood and remained motionless. He clenched his jaw as he glared at Pearl. Pearl was stunned, looking at Taggart, who suddenly came.

“So this is it? Turns out to be true,” Taggart growled lowly. Damian hasn't given up his position on Pearl. He and Pearl were seriously conversing and didn't realize what had gone wrong.

"Sir?" Pearl said quietly. Her hands were still holding each other's with Damian.

"You lied to me." Taggart was still growling softly.

“W-What,” Pearl didn't understand. She only realized a few moments later and removed her hand from Damian. Damian turned back to Pearl and distanced herself slightly.

Taggart was very disappointed to see Pearl making out with Damian. At least that's what he thought, even though he couldn't know whether they kissed.

“You are not in pain obviously. Did the kidnapping also lie?" Taggart got even angrier. He accused Pearl for no reason. Pearl shook her head. Taggart clenched his fists. If Pearl had been a wall, he would have destroyed it. Unfortunately, Pearl is the one he loves.

"I'm not making it up. What are you saying, sir?" Pearl shook her head quickly in disbelief. It was as if he was confessing a truth he didn't need to say. Damian, who heard it, was also annoyed. He stood up and faced Taggart.

“What are you saying, Taggart? Pearl was already kidnapped. How can you tell if it was staged?” Damian said angrily at Taggart. Taggart glared even harder. He pointed at Damian and made him admit it.

“I found her helpless and dying. Now she is healing like nothing happened!” Taggart let out his anger. Pearl was in shock and couldn't move from her place. Damian restrained himself from hitting first. Now, he had to make good use of the situation.

"And you? What are you doing with my girl?” Taggart snapped louder.

“Pearl is my best friend. I'm worried about her. She has experienced bad traumatic things. And you accused her of a conspiracy? you're embarrassing!" Damian is no less fierce.

As a result of the argument, a nurse came in to check. Pearl presses the emergency button so someone can come in.

"What is this?" The nurse noticed the tension. Unfortunately, neither Taggart nor Damian wanted to go.

"What friend made her get all this, hah!" Taggart pushed Damian hard. Several nurses and doctors came in to stop Taggart and Damian from fighting. Taggart was dragged out of the room. He got angry and was about to hit Damian. Damian calms down more easily. He nodded understandingly at the several people holding him.

"Oh my God," Pearl said, frightened by Taggart's attitude. What was most painful was that Taggart even accused her of conspiring to lie to him, even though the kidnapping was not a fabrication that Pearl could have created.

"Forgive me. come here. It’s okay,” Damian came over and hugged Pearl to calm her down. He could feel that Pearl was afraid.

"Let me go!" Taggart jerked his hand away, which was pulled by one of the nurses. They only released Taggart after he was far enough away from Pearl's room. Taggart gasped in annoyance and anger. He wanted to beat Damian. Behind his disappointment, it turns out Pearl lied to him. He was very disappointed.

"What is this?" Doctor Billy rebuked. A nurse then explained to Billy what happened in Pearl's room. Taggart saw Billy, and he immediately came to confront him.

“You, I have to talk to you!” Taggart groaned with a glare that would kill Billy. Billy said nothing and then asked all the staff to leave. After they were alone, Taggart immediately grabbed the collar of the doctor's white coat and jerked him angrily.

“What happened to Pearl? Who's he? Why can he recover so quickly hah? Are you hiding something from me?" Taggart growled angrily and threateningly. Billy stretched out one hand to hold Taggart and tried to remain calm.

"We can talk about this properly,"

"No. You've tricked me. Now tell me what happened. Don't hide anything, or I will kill you. I can kill you, doctor. I know you're a vampire, and I could finish you off with a silver stake right now. Tell me what happened!”
