Chapter 84. The Things Aren't Working

Damian felt restless today. He looked outside, thinking that rain or a storm was coming. It doesn't feel like it. The weather report was like usual; even though the sky was cloudy and windy, everything was fine. Damian then took his cell phone and called his father. Matthew's cell phone hasn't been active since last night. Damian is now diverted by calling Pearl. The result is still the same.

“What about everyone? What happened?" Damian muttered to himself. He walked out of the room and was about to ask the servant. Damian hadn't seen his father for two nights. He hadn't asked yet, but there was a commotion head from the living room. He recognized it and immediately went down to check it. He was shocked to see a few bodyguards in his house arguing.

"What is happening?" Damian shouted to intervene in the argument. They stopped and looked back. One of the Epsilons came closer to Damian.

“Where is Mr. Matthew Bronckhorst?”

Damian's brow furrowed. He didn't like Epsilon's harsh attitude, which he thought was rude. He stepped forward to face the Epsilon while raising his chin arrogantly.

"Why are you looking for my father? You should watch your step!"

“I'm the one who had him to. Where is he?"

Taggart suddenly appeared. His face was tense, and he was irritated. Damian looked confused and frowned at his sudden appearance.

"What do you want? Why are you looking for my father?" Damian still asked coldly.

"Where is he?" Taggart still insisted.

“Just tell me you aim!”

"That’s not your business! Call that coward out!” Taggart raised his bluff.

"What do you say? Watch your mouth, goddammit!” Damian shouted back.

The tension was increasing. Everest stepped forward and grabbed Taggart. He couldn't let Taggart start a war within their pack. All these problems must be resolved immediately without causing a more inevitable conflict.

“Please, Sir. Hold on to yourself." Everest whispered. Taggart still hadn't taken his eyes off Damian. He ignores Everest's warning.

“You better not get into trouble with me, Tagg.” Damian pointed angrily at Taggart. Taggart replied quickly, lunging forward.

"I will destroy you and your father. Tell him to get out before I finish you off," Taggart shouted at Damian. His face was red, and his eyes were bulging with anger. His face would change form if Damian continued to provoke his wrath.

“Do you think I'm afraid of you? Who do you think you are!” Damian didn't even want to budge. He went forward. An Epsilon held him. Taggart jerked Everest's hand away from him. He pushed Damian hard to enter the Bronckhorst mansion.

"Hey!" Damian shouted at Taggart. Taggart's men detained the Bronckhorts' guards. The dispute occurred while Damian was defending his house. He did not hesitate to beat Taggart, who had behaved insolently.

“Find him! Drag him to me now!” Taggart shouted orders to the wolves he brought.

“Get off of me!” Damian jerked harder from an Epsilon grip on his arm. He paced to Taggart and then grabbed his collar. Taggart defensively shoved him madly. The fight would happen if Everest and other Epsilons were not between them.

"I'll crush your entire family," Taggart grunted and growled, pointing at Damian. Damian's eyes turned red, and they didn't want to take it. It was a humiliation to the Bronckhorst.

“I will kill you, Taggart!” Damian also pointed and threatened.

"It's enough. Where is Mr. Matthew?” Everest immediately stood in front of Damian, asking the same thing. Damian grunted annoyingly. Thus, he was attached to Everest. Everest also gave him a straight glare.

“Where is he?” Everest spoke the same thing.

"Why are you looking for my father?" Damian now lowered his voice.

Several Epsilons and Sigma searched the entire house for Matthew. But he was not home, not even the trace. When two Epsilons were still holding Damian's arms, he jerked hard, so they both let go. This time, Damian no longer struggled. He stared hatefully and angrily at Taggart.

“There is no Matthew Bronckhorst anywhere.” One of the Epsilons returns and reports to Taggart. Taggart immediately turned to Damian. He narrowed his eyes and walked closer to her.

"Where did you hide your father?" Taggart was immediately accused without mercy. Damian widened his eyes and raised his chin arrogantly.

“You think you can order me? You're not my Alpha!” Damian turned to challenge Taggart, who was very angry. Taggart widened his eyes and grabbed Damian's neck suddenly. Damian quickly clutched Taggart's wrist shockingly. He didn't anticipate that Taggart would choke him.

“Don't fuck with me, Damian. You are no match for me. I can kill you at any time.” Taggart growled furiously.

“Sir, don’t!” Everest also grabbed Taggart’s arm to prevent him from doing the hostile. He knew that Taggart would quickly kill his enemy like Damian. But it was not worth enough for immense friction among their pack members later.

“Your father has kidnapped my girl. He has to pay the consequences.” Taggart growled more, ignoring Everest's warning. Damian widened his eyes shockingly.

“What?” Damian almost lost his voice because his grip was tighter.

“Sir!” Everest demanded Taggart to let his grip on him. Taggart jerked him off. Heavily breath, Taggart stared sharply at Damian. Damian took so much air to breathe while holding his neck.

“It is impossible.” Damian denied the accusation.

“What’s the impossible! Do you think that your father is not a coward?” Taggart sneered back. The Epsilon were gathered and rounded Damian now. Damian was trapped inside his house, looking around like they would kill him soon.

“Where is he?”

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen him for days. I just returned two days ago, and he was not here.” Damian quickly answered while panting. He glared at each epsilon who treated him like trash.

“You lied.” Taggart is still on his accusation. Damian nodded arrogantly.

“Yeah. If you can find him, I would also like to ask about it. Until then, keep looking.”

Taggart grunted and stepped forward to choke Damian again, but Everest held him. He shook his head, giving the code that Taggart shouldn’t put more things to Damian, or things would worsen.

“When I get him, you will never see him again. He will pay for everything he did to my Pearl!”

Taggart wasted no time leaving the house. He would look for Matthew Bronchorst until he found him. After Taggart left, Everest approached Damian, who was still tense and angry, and looked at Taggart.

"It was your father who kidnapped Pearl Rosenthal. She was tortured and almost died. Your people did it.” Everest spoke to Damian. Damian widened his eyes. he was shocked but didn't know anything.

“Alpha Bruce will resolve this problem. You better turn it in before things end badly.” Everest continues despite the lower threat. Everest wasted no time. He immediately left following Taggart, leaving Damian.

Damian panted hard and glanced, infuriated at some of his housemates. Now, he must interrogate them to find his father.

“Where is he?” Damian scowled angrily.

***

Matthew Bronckhorst was in his plane over the Pacific Ocean. He was supposed to go home to LA today. Unfortunately, after hearing that Pearl had been found, Matthew changed his flight to Budapest.

“I can't allow this. If I come back, that kid will kill me," Matthew said to his colleague, Alfred Lambert. Alfred suggested to Matthew that he get rid of Pearl before the girl made Taggart even more powerful.

“We are going to Budapest to solve this problem. There, we have greater power, a stronger faction.” Alfred raised his chin arrogantly to reassure Matthew that he had made the right decision.

"You're right. It's time for the Silver Moon Pack to realize they are no longer the strongest pack. If it works, I'll still have my pack, but I can't get Bruce to give up power. Isn't it like that?” Alfred smiled and then nodded.

"Yes. It's time for you to lead us, Matt. I've waited hundreds of years for that.” Alfred added to his boasting. He grinned at Matthew, who smiled broadly. Matthew grew more confident. He didn't think about Damian's fate, who could get into trouble if Matthew didn't stop what he was doing.

"I won't let that girl ruin my plans," Matthew spoke again.

“What are you going to do now? She has been found, and your people will tell everything.” Alfred anticipated the question again. Matthew took a deep breath and nodded.

“I know what I have to do. Tamara Lopez will do it for me.” Alfred smiled again.

“If Pearl Rosenthal doesn't come back, they won't be able to get married.” Matthew gave a little insight into the plans he was making.

"You're right. Does Tamara up to be Taggart Kellent's girlfriend? What if she refuses?”

“If Tamara could get pregnant, Taggart would waste no time getting rid of the girl. Besides, Pearl Rosenthal must have been traumatized and scared. I had Timothy put her in terrible surgery. She would never dare get into Taggart Kellent. After that, everything will return to our previous plan.”
