Chapter 85. I Will Never Give Up

Evan and Calvin face severe consequences after the kidnapping. Due to their acts, they are locked up in a basement prison in one of the Silver Moon Pack buildings. Later, Taggart will come to meet them. He has to find Matthew Bronckhorst.

Meanwhile, the Silver Moon Pack’s wolves were protecting the Bronckhorst family were also detained. This made Damian protest. He went to Bruce Kellent and didn't want to accept the decision.

“Uncle Bruce, I wish I could still call you that,” Damian said sarcastically. He came alone without anyone accompanying him. His day was ruined after Taggart arrived. Damian didn't want to let himself be Taggart's punched bags. He was humiliated and wouldn’t let Taggar find his winning easily.

"What can I do for you?" Bruce still acts formal and cold towards Damian. Damian gave a sinister smirk then.

“I know you hate my family. But we're still an important part of the pack. You guys can’t treat us like this.” Damian said in an arrogant tone. He would not give up even if he was guilty. On the other hand, Bruce should wisely turn to face Damian. He would never hurt him unless he did a harmful thing.

“I don't hate the Bronckhorst family. Your father is one of my cousins. Although I don't like him because he always makes bad cheats, I still don't hate him." Damian tightened his jaw at Bruce's answer, which annoyed him.

“If I hated your family, you guys would not have survived long ago. I won't give you the leverage you have now," Bruce added.

“Then why do you accuse my father of kidnapping Pearl Rosenthal? He's not even home!” Damian answered in a high tone. He was getting increasingly annoyed, but Bruce still faced it calmly.

"Because Matthew did it."

"What is the proof? Are you just making accusations without evidence?" Damian answered first. Bruce took a deeper breath.

“Evan and Calvin are in prison. They are the one who kidnapped Pearl.” Damian's brow furrowed.

"What?"

“Aren't they Matthew's bodyguards?” Damian didn't answer. He still frowned.

“Could he be working for someone else?” Damian avoided admitting it. He still couldn't believe that his father could commit such a crime.

“Perhaps, but the chance is so small. There is another person who claims to be your father's boss. His name is Luke Damant. He is an Omega who works as a manager at Excellor.” Bruce explained again. He started to feel sorry for Damian because he didn't know anything.

"I don't know that person," Damian answered quickly.

"Then I don't think there's a need to meet him,"

"Why?"

"Don't you not know him?" Damian was silent, still looking at Bruce. He didn't want to plead, but Bruce held the key to forgiving his father.

“I'm sure this is just slander. My father never said or planned any of this. He is busy with his work. Besides, why would he kidnap Pearl?” Damian questioned back. His voice started to become low and doubtful, but he remained firm.

"I should be the one asking Matthew why he did all that. Don't you guys want to separate Taggart and Pearl?”

Damian quickly squinted at Bruce. Bruce only responded with a smirk. He didn't want to make Damian even more angry. Nevertheless, he has to be strict with any decision.

"I remember you once said you liked and fell in love with Pearl. You haven't asked how she’s been since. Aren't you worried about her situation?" Bruce increasingly corners Damian. Damian tightened his jaw. He glanced to the side. Bruce is good at manipulating people. Damian wouldn't be able to win against Bruce. But that doesn't mean Damian will just give himself up.

“I kept calling Pearl, but her cell phone was dead,” Damian admitted. He lowered his voice even more. Bruce nodded.

“You'd better just step back, Damian. Let the girl live in peace." Bruce then turned around, leaving Damian, who suddenly answered.

“Are you just going to let her into our pack? Shouldn't Taggart marry someone of royal blood?”

Bruce stopped and then turned back to Damian. He looked at his nephew seriously. Damian held back his grin.

“Pearl Rosenthal is just a mortal; a human being. She wouldn't be able to match herself with Taggart. Then why are you defending her?” Damian still asked again.

"However, Taggart is still in a relationship with Pearl, and they are engaged,"

"I thought you had cancelled the engagement,"

"That's none of your business, Damian." Bruce cut in quickly and didn't give Damian a chance to poke deeper. Damian still showed his arrogance. He cast his gaze in another direction.

"You'd better find your father and hand him over to me," Bruce said again.

“I won't do that; he's innocent. You have no proof that my father did all that. It's just based on the false admission of some people I barely know. This is all slander, and you are not protecting your family, Alpha.” Damian silenced Bruce, who didn't want to argue. Damian immediately left the room. This time, he had to find enough support to defend Matthew.

“We've found Pearl. Now she is in my hospital undergoing treatment." Taggart gives Keith some information about Pearl. He comes to the hospital to meet Keith. They meet in the side garden and talk under tight guard.

"How did it happen? Is it true that she was kidnapped?” Taggart nodded with a straight face.

"Who did this?" Keith shook his head in disbelief. Taggart pursed his lips and thought for a moment.

"I can't say,"

"Why?" Keith responded quickly.

"That's because all of this concerns the interests of our internal."

Keith's brow furrowed deeper. He had a horrible feeling about Taggart. He knows that Taggart has many secrets and enemies.

"Was the kidnapping carried out by your enemy?" Keith asked again. Taggart was silent, still glaring at Keith. Keith didn't want to take that for granted. For him, Pearl is a sister he loves and will continue to protect forever.

“This is the last time I will see you around my sister. Don't come near Pearl again," Keith added, judging Taggart.

"What?" Taggart quickly replied that he did not accept it.

“You heard me. Pearl will not be in your world full of business tricks and frauds. That’s why I don't think let the relationship between you and my sister, Mr. Taggart.” Keith was getting more cynical. He was about to walk away, but Taggart quickly held his hand.

"What did you say?"

“You heard me, Taggart. I don't have to repeat."

“Don't think you can take Pearl away from me. She is mine!” Taggart growled with wide eyes at Keith. Keith pulled his arm away from Taggart. He again faces a man who is obsessed with his sister.

“What are you looking for from her? Pearl has suffered so many hardships because of you. Didn't you see how you acted when you forced Pearl to accept your actions? My sister is scared of you and can’t say anything.” Keith answered bravely.

“I won't let go of Pearl.” Taggart still insisted stubbornly. He clenched his jaw at Keith, who was smaller than him. Keith didn't know the immense power that Taggart possessed. Moreover, Keith was superprotective of Pearl. He wouldn't let someone like Taggart get away so quickly after the wrong things.

“Find someone else to fulfill your wishes. Let Pearl go, or I'll took you to the police.” Taggart chuckled sarcastically.

“Do you think it will work?” he sneered.

"Maybe they won't arrest you, but it's enough to make the public angry and put pressure on you not to abuse my family." Keith tried to stay calm and not be provoked even though Taggart might kill him. He turned and left, leaving Taggart, who snorted in disbelief. Every day, more and more people wanted to separate him from Pearl.

Taggart will not back down even if a human-like Keith comes to stand in his way. He didn't want to let go of Pearl at all.

Taggart didn't plan to come to see John. He went immediately to see Pearl, who was still unconscious in the hospital.

Billy Anderson saw Taggart's arrival and reported it to Louis Durrant. He felt that something had happened to Pearl and Louis should know about it.

“Follow him. Find out where Pearl Rosenthal is now. We must immediately take her away from Taggart Kellent.” Billy nodded quickly. He took off his jacket and ran out of the hospital to follow Taggart. Billy tried not to be too obvious. However, none of Taggart's men noticed.

Billy arrived at Kellent Hospital not long after. He frowned as he walked to look for information.

“I am Pearl Rosenthal's uncle. My nephew is admitted to this hospital. But I didn't get any information about her room. May I know where she is?” Billy asked, trying to trick the admission staff.

"What's her name?" the officer asked.

“Pearl Rosenthal.” The staff typed in the intended name. Not long afterward, he returned to Billy.

“There is no patient named Pearl Rosenthal, sir. I think you might be at the wrong hospital.”
