Chapter Eighty-Two: Remember.

Chapter Eighty-Two: Remember.

IT has been a week since everything happened but there’s still no progress with Shiloh. She’s still emotionless which is hard for Loki. He misses the way she worries for her daughter. He misses the way she nags over simple things.

“What is your name again?” Loki asked her.

Shiloh who was sitting in their bed looked up at him. “I’m Shiloh and I am your wife.”

Loki nodded. He’s telling her everything that she needed to know. It’s easy for her to learn, but the emotions in her weren’t easy. Ever since last week, he hasn’t seen her smile or feel sad. Just the straight face that she was showing him.

They have already visited Elder Nox to try to heal her. She remembered something, her name, her mother, and her siblings. Other than that, nothing.

Loki stood up and then kissed her on her lips.

“Stay here, alright? I have a meeting to attend.”

“Alright,” she replied.

He nodded and then finally walked out of the room. The royal council is asking for him again. And he knows very well what it was about.

“What is it? I still have lots of work to do,” Loki asked.

“We just want to ask how the Queen is doing. She has a lot of work that she needed to do but because of her condition, she wasn’t able to do it.”

He closed his eyes tightly before he sighed. Instead of sitting on his throne, he just stood there. He has a lot of work to do, and the Queen’s condition is additional to it. But here they are, adding more problems.

“So you’re asking me to find a new Queen?” he asked. “This is insane. I should have a royal council who will help me resolve my problems but instead, you are just adding up new problems.”

Everyone became silent at what he stated. A minute had passed and one of them raised his hand.

“What if she didn’t recover? You have no choice but to find someone who will help her. Just like a concubine—”

“Will you fucking stop?!” he shouted. “You all know how good she is as a Queen and she’s irreplaceable!”

“But your highness!”

“Do you know what’s the real solution here? To find someone who can do her work while she was still recovering and not to replace her!”

He glared at them.

“Now that I think about it. Are you still trying to drag me down the throne?” he asked, narrowing his eyes.

“It’s not what we are thinking your highness. We are just suggestions for the sake of our country!”

“For the sake of our country or the sake of your names and wealth?” he scoffed. “For the past twenty years, you weren’t able to get money from me because I am not like my father who didn’t look at your pockets.”

Everyone in the meeting room gasped.

“What are you trying to say? That we are corrupt?”

“Yes! If you’re not, then why are you doing this? Why do you keep on pushing me to my limit?”

Now they couldn’t answer anymore. Loki was disappointed at their reactions. The way they remained silent means he was right.

“I will run an investigation on all of you and evaluate whether you are qualified to be Royal Councils.”

Theodore stood up, he is one of the middle-aged Royal Council who just inherited his position.

“This is not right, your highness! We inherited our position, my father worked hard to pass this to me.”

Loki raised his brow. “If you’re confident that you are qualified as a royal council then you don’t have to be afraid.”

After that, he left them.

The whole day, he feels exhausted. Even though he didn’t do anything much, it is tiring. Maybe because of overthinking.

It was already eight in the evening when he was done working.

Tired, he went to his daughters room to check on them. The royal guard quickly blocked him from entering.

“What is it?” Loki asked.

“Your highness, I’m afraid you didn’t want to disturb their sleep.”

He opened the door slowly and saw Shiloh… she was sleeping beside the two Princesses.

For the first time in the whole week, his face brightened up. It was such a nice scene. Shiloh hasn’t carried them since then and seeing them together in one bed made him feel happy.

“How did this happen?” he asked.

“We didn’t know too, your highness. The moment she saw the Princesses, she cried.”

Curious, he looked at the guard. “What do you mean that she cried? Do you think she remembers them? She hasn’t shown any emotion in the past days.”

“It is our first time to see her cry too, your highness. We are all surprised by her emotion. We didn’t know if she already remembers your daughters but she didn’t speak to any of us. She just carry them around and fell asleep.”

He smiled and then nodded. “It’s good to hear that she showed improvement. Please tell me if ever she does something like this again.”

He stepped inside. Truth was, he wanted to join them, but on the other hand, he was afraid that if ever he enters, Shiloh might wake up and leave the girls…

Instead, he stepped back and closed the door.

“I will head to our room. Please wake me up once they wake up,” he told him.

The Royal Guard bowed his head before he finally left and went to their room.

The next day, the sun hasn’t risen yet but he was already awake. He quickly went to the next room to check on his daughter and Shiloh.

“Your highness, the Queen left the room earlier.”

“Where did she go?” he asked curiously.

“The maidservants are already looking for her. I didn’t know either. She woke up and told me to get warm water but when I came back, she wasn’t here anymore.”

He sighed and then looked around. Without hesitation, he quickly runs. The maidservants are looking for her.

He couldn’t help but worry, he wanted to blame everyone for not looking out for her when her condition is like this.

When he went out to the garden, he sighed and finally saw Shiloh.

She was standing in front of the flowers…

“Shiloh, why did you leave the room?”

She turned around to look at him… still no emotion.

“I played here with the girls,” she said. “Didn’t I?”
