Chapter 22
~Vlad~
I was calling Samara but she wasn’t taking any of my calls. I was restless for no reason, I needed a run to calm my nerves before I lose it.
I toss my phone onto the bed and changed into comfortable clothes and started a run into the wood, I shifted to my wolf, my clothes tore off my body and my wolf took charge of me as I run faster into the woods.
I don’t want to think about it, that Hector was her second chance mate.
I do not want to let go of her since I was also granted a second chance by the moon goddess to claim her back as my mate.
I couldn’t let it all go but what can I do I she doesn’t want me?
I run faster in the wood, letting the wind come in contact with my furs.
“Alpha...” Xylan’s voice shot through my head.
“What?” I cut him off abruptly, grunting.
“Where are you?”
“Is there something wrong?” I asked back at him and stopped running and shifted back to my human form, panting to catch my breath.
I leaned against a tree, breathing heavily.
“In the woods, is there any emergency?”
“I got the house and was wondering where you at, the house is quiet. Did you take Samara with you?”
“No,” I grunted, I don’t want to think that she wasn’t back home yet.
“Why would you be...?”
“Xylan what do you want to tell me, I’ll be back home in a minute.” I cut him off the mind link when I saw something moving behind the trees. My bones shifted and I’m back to my wolf form.
I darted to the place I saw it moved but there was nothing there, I searched the place. I knew I saw something.
I turned and started to run back when I heard another shuffle in the wood. Someone was following but why couldn’t sense whoever was falling me?
Either he wasn’t someone from our pack or he was into something.
I stopped and glanced around seeing nothing. I started running back to the house, since I was in my wolf form, I was able to get there faster because of my wolf, and in less than fifteen minutes I was back at the house.
I shifted back to my human wolf, standing naked when I got in and Xylan was seated on the couch. He got up and greeted me, I waved him off.
“There’s something in the wood, you have to order the warriors to search the woods. Someone is out there, surprisingly I couldn’t sense his wolf, but I knew he was there.”
“Isn’t similar to what Samara said, do you think it could be the same people? They might know she’s in the pack.” Xylan countered and stood closer to me.
“I’ll get dressed.”
My thoughts didn’t cross there, I thought it was something suspicious. Xylan was right, Samara did say she couldn’t sense them.
How are they in the pack?
I got into my room and opened the wardrobe and wore a robe on my black pants and sleeves and shut the door.
Does that mean, whoever took my children is in the pack?
I hurried down the stairs to meet Xylan pacing around. I tapped his shoulders when I got close and his head snapped at me.
“What? Sorry, I was drowned in my thoughts.”
“We are having the same thoughts,” I told him firmly.
“They are in this pack.” We uttered at the same time.
“Get the warriors immediately!” I thundered, we would have to turn the pack upside down and find them if we have to.
“Now!” I growled and was about to run out, I saw Maya peeping out from the kitchen and staring at me.
I halted immediately almost causing me to fall. She scurried back into the kitchen when I caught her staring.
I walked into the kitchen. She was standing beside the door.
“Alpha?”
“What are you doing?”
“I’m sorry, Alpha. I thought something was wrong.” She whispered with her head down.
I stared at her why do I feel something off with her?
“When Samara comes back, take good care of her,” I ordered and stepped out of the kitchen.
“Xylan,” I called when I was close to the door.
“How did Maya start to work here?”
He stared at the kitchen door and back at me.
“A long time ago that I don’t even remember anymore. She’s been here for long, that I can say.”
“Find out about her, her family, everything. I want to know.” I started with a snarl.
“Yes, Alpha.” He nodded and I ran out of the house.
I had no time to take the car when I was angry, I ran faster in the wolf form and it helps to keep my anger issues in check.
I swear if I found them I would kill them.
I growled loudly, running back into the wood, I came out from.
“Let’s the warriors go into the pack, find them, they must be somewhere. Search every house you find suspicious if had to.” I gave orders to Xylan through the mind link.
“We are on it, Alpha. We would make sure we find something before dawn.”
“Do not say a word about this to Samara until we find something.”
“Of course, Vlad. I’m not a blabbermouth.” I know he was probably rolling his eyes at me.
“You’re one, Xylan. I know you came to the house to blabbed.” I hissed through my teeth and stopped suddenly when the smell hit my nose, cutting Xylan off the mind link.
I let Kalan take the lead following the smell, we found ourselves at a whack storage tree house, deep in the wood and covered with wood.
What was this in my territory?
I ran shortly until I was in front of the house and without any warning bust it open and the door broke.
I walked in, and the smell was like Samara and me mixed in them, it filled my nostrils and it was almost suffocating me in it.
There was a small bunk bed in the house and the food and water had gone bad and were starting to smell.
I walked in further using my vision to see if I could picture them and know exactly what happened in here.
I can’t my vision was blocked. There was black magic in here and this was where my sons were hidden right in my territory. They were under me and I had no idea!
I saw their clothes on a basket and took them, inhaling their smells. I moved away from the basket and saw a picture of them on the wall.
I pulled them from the wall, they were made to lie down on the ground with nothing except their shots all three of them.
My sons.
I howled loudly and painfully at myself, gripping one of the empty bunks and ripping it apart.
“Argh!”
That was when I saw something trying to escape the room. I charged out immediately so fast that he hadn’t expected I would get to him so quickly and grabbed him before he could move.
“What are you?” I snarled in his face.
“Where are my children!”I growled.
Their smells were still lingering around here which means it hadn’t been long since they left. I lost them, Fuck.
My children were here and they were alive.
“Where are they?!”
He falls to his knees immediately in surrender. He was just like them, I couldn’t sense if he was a wolf or human or anything at all.
“He took them, they are gone.” He muttered and my fist came into his face and sent him flying over the room breaking one of the wooden beds at the side.
“Argh!” I screamed my veins throbbing out of my neck.
I am going to kill him!
