Chapter 23
~Vlad~
“You!” I growled.
I charged at him but someone pulled me away forcefully and slammed my back against the wall.
There was only one person that would dare to challenge me this way.
“Vlad no!” Xylan shouted.
“You can’t kill him!” He yelled and stood in front of me, shielding him from me.
“No, Vlad.” He pants heavily and glanced behind him. Some of the warriors came into the room and grabbed, and restrained his hands with silver handcuffs.
I run my hands off my hair aggressively and huffed.
Fuck. I can’t believe this.
I lit the cigarette taking in a few drags and then puffed it out of my lungs into the air with a hand in my pocket.
I stared at the dark sky wondering what it would feel if I had caught those bastards.
“I have told them to take him to the prison as instructed since he’s the only witness we have, we can’t afford to kill him yet.” Xylan walked up to me and stood by my side. He glanced at me quickly and took his gaze back at the dark sky.
“How did you know where to find me?” I turned and stared at him for a brief moment.
“During the mink link, I was about to know where you are, and when you suddenly cut it off, I had a thought that you may be up to something or something is happening.” He said plainly.
“I turned and decided to come to you, took a few of the warriors with me, and you did help. You heard your howl.” He fixed his gaze on me.
I chuckled bitterly took out the cigarette from my mouth, and squeezed them against my feet.
I took the pictures out of my pocket and showed them to Xylan, the pictures that I saw that had almost got me crazy.
“What the hell!” Xylan exclaimed, glancing through the pictures of each of them.
“How could they do this to them?”
“They look so alike, I can hardly differentiate them except their eyes.” He raised the picture to my face.
“Y’all are the same.” He chuckled softly.
I took another stick of cigarette from the pack and lit them, I was trying to calm my nerves right now. I inhale deeply, and let it out.
“I can see the exact look on their faces but why the Fuck would they treat themselves, and take pictures of them?” I took the pictures back from him and held them in my hands, staring at them. My fingers graze against the pictures.
I want to see my sons, I suddenly don’t care about anything else. They were what matters to me, seeing them and knowing they were close piqued my interest and blinded my thought.
I want to hug them, kiss them, and tell them that I’m their father.
I squashed the pictures with my hands.
I will make whoever was behind this, pay a thousandfold.
“They knew we would find them soon or later when I came. They had just left with them, they had been in this territory all these while and I had no idea!”
“There was no way you could have known you don’t have to blame yourself. What about Samara?”
I lit the lighter and started to burn the pictures.
“I can not tell her and she mustn’t found out about this picture either. I know her, she would be devastated when she does. We’ve to keep her in the dark until we have a lead on it.” I let the pictures fall from my hands and watched them burn.
Though there wasn’t any scratch on their body, I still can’t bring myself and saw Samara a picture of her sons only in shorts and nothing else.
“Of course.” He nodded and we both stared at the house almost at the same time as if we were having the same thoughts.
“Destroy it,” I muttered.
“Set it ablaze, it would be a warning to them and they would know that I’m coming for them and I won’t let anyone live.” I tossed the lighter over to Xylan, he nodded obediently at me and turned away.
I wore the jacket over my body, and continued smoking, while Xylan burns the house.
I could see the thick smoke in the air hovering around us, hurling the last cigarette in my hands, I spun around and started to walk away.
“It’s done.” Xylan was by my side. I nodded curtly at him and was marching down the wood with him by my side.
“What about the Gemma, what did he find out?” My voice was laced with anger, and that was everything that I feel at this moment.
“He would bring a report tomorrow morning.” He remarked, trying to keep up with my fast pace.
“Tell him to report to the mansion immediately. I’ll be waiting for him.” I grunted and continue sauntering down the woods.
“I’ll do that now, Alpha.”
I snorted and took off the jacket, throwing them over to Xylan. I shifted into my wolf and sprinted out into the darkness before Xylan could say the next word from his mouth.
I ran home though it was far and I spent a lot of time running into the woods to the house. I got to the front door and shakes my furs a bit, I wanted to shift back to my form when I heard light steps behind me.
“Vlad.”
I freeze at the voice that made my heart pound. And slowly turned with my wolf and was facing her, this was the first time she was seeing me in my wolf form.
She came closer to me, and she looked so small compared to the huge size of my wolf. Her hands went to my furs and she caresses them in her hands, I howl quietly and pulled my head closer to her so she wouldn’t stop touching me.
Kalan liked it, he liked it when we were close to her and moment like this.
“Where are you coming from? I waited for a long time and you weren’t home. I waited outside for you, I thought something was wrong.” She gave me gentle strokes on my body, and I felt the pains they lay down in my heart.
I can’t tell her I found them, they were so close to me and yet so distant and unreachable.
I wish I could tell her what I found out, that they were somewhere in the pack.
Our children.
