JULIET'S POV
The packing house was in disarray, a chaotic mess that seemed to be falling apart at the seams. Every day brought with it a new problem, a new source of stress that threatened to push me over the edge. It was a wonder I hadn't developed high blood pressure yet, considering the constant state of crisis we seemed to be in.
Gigi was apologizing to me, her delicate features twisted in a frown of worry. She looked like a pretty angel in the midst of all this chaos, and it pained me to see her caught up in the turmoil.
She deserved peace more than anything else. She needed to take her mind off Leo, the source of so much of her pain. But no matter what she did, he would never go against the orders of the moon goddess. It made me furious to think that she had risked her life for someone who was already hers.
I had hoped that Gigi would focus on building herself up and becoming the strongest and best version of herself. She already had Leo, as far as I was concerned. No matter what Angel did, she could never be his Luna. She wasn't the chosen one, and that was something that would never change.
If I were in Gigi's shoes, I would train myself and wait for the inevitable war. I didn't know if I would be alive to defend her when the time came, but I would do my best. Death was always lurking around the corner, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
I felt guilty for the way I had spoken to her earlier. I hadn't meant to be harsh, but I couldn't bear to see her put herself in danger like that. "I'm sorry, Gigi," I said, trying to make amends. "I didn't mean to talk to you that way." "I was just concerned about you."
Gigi smiled and nodded, her eyes shining with understanding. It was a small comfort in the midst of all this chaos, but it was enough to give me hope. Maybe, just maybe, we could make it through this.
Leaving the both of them, I rushed into Brandon's room, eager to check on him. His injury had left him incapacitated for days, but I hoped he had made some progress. As I entered the room, I was greeted by a smile so radiant that it blinded me momentarily. It was a smile that could light up a room, and I felt my heart race.
Brandon's eyes sparkled as he saw me, and I felt a sense of shyness come over me. He had never looked at me like that before, and I felt as though I were seeing a whole new side of him. It was as if his brush with death had awakened something deep within him, something that he had never shown to anyone before.
"Good morning, Princess Juliet," he said in a strong voice, and I knew that he was feeling better. It was heartening to see him like this, strong and determined to step out into the world again.
He told me that he wanted to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. He had been cooped up in his room for days and was itching to feel the sun on his skin. I helped him stand up, and we made our way outside.
As we stepped out, the cool breeze brushed against our faces, and I felt a sense of calm wash over me. It was as if the world had paused for a moment, and we were the only ones in it. I helped Brandon sit down so that he could enjoy the view. The sky was overcast, and I could tell that it was about to rain.
"I heard you shouting at Gigi. "What did she do?" Brandon asked, showing concern.
I told him about how Gigi had risked her life just because of Leo's words. We had been searching for her for hours, and just when we had given up hope, the warriors found her in the clutches of the rogues. If it hadn't been for the warriors, she would have been dead by now.
As I recounted the events of the past few days, I felt a surge of emotions wash over me. It had been a trying time for all of us, and I couldn't help but feel grateful that we had all made it out alive. It was a reminder that life is fragile and that we should cherish every moment that we have with our loved ones.
Looking at Brandon, I saw a sense of determination in his eyes. He had been knocked down, but he was not defeated. He was a warrior, and he would fight until his last breath. I felt a sense of pride swell within me, knowing that he was my mate, the beta of our pack.
As the rain started to pour down, we sat there in silence, enjoying each other's company. It was a moment that I would treasure forever, a moment that reminded me of the importance of family and love. My brother never gave us such attention, always putting fear in our bodies so that we would be afraid of him.
It was as if the whole world had come to a standstill. A few moments later, I remembered something that sent shivers down my spine. Nobody had checked on Leo since morning, and he hadn't said anything.
As I pondered over this, my loyal companion Brandon spoke up, "What about my master?"
"He will be fine, but no one has checked on him this morning, and he hasn't come outside either." "Maybe he is angry that the warriors saved Gigi because he told us to allow her to die," I explained to Brandon, and he bowed his head in understanding.
But we couldn't just sit and wait for Leo to come out of his room. We had to check on him and show him that he was not alone. With heavy hearts, we made our way to Leo's room.
As we reached the door, my heart skipped a beat. What would we find behind it? Would Leo be okay?
Slowly, I pushed the door open, and there he was, lying on his bed, facing up, his eyes wide open but his face covered with anger. He didn't even acknowledge our presence.
Brandon greeted him, but Leo's response was cold and distant. It was as if he didn't want to talk to us. But we persisted.
"Master, your face is not bright; what might be bothering you?" Brandon asked, trying to get Leo to open up.
Leo told him that he was fine, just having some rethinking, but refused to say more. I tried to lighten the mood by asking him what he wanted for breakfast, but he shunned me and told me to leave his room.
As I walked away, feeling defeated, Brandon stayed back. He knew Leo better than anyone, and he was not about to give up on him.
Raindrops were drumming against the windowpanes, and the sky outside was a murky gray. It was already raining, and the heavy downpour showed no sign of letting up anytime soon. But that didn't stop me from wanting to make breakfast for everyone, especially Brandon and Gigi.
I quickly asked Jade to come over so we could make breakfast together. She accepted, and soon enough, she arrived at my doorstep, rain-soaked and ready to get to work. I asked her here what she was doing in the rain.
As we made our way to the kitchen, I couldn't help but tell her what I had seen in Leo's room earlier. Leo had sent me out of his room, and I had a feeling he was up to something. Jade was speechless as I recounted the incident to her, but she quickly brushed it off.
"There is nothing that will make Angel his sister," Jade said, shaking her head. "Never will that happen." The moon goddess has chosen Gigi for him, and she had her reasons. So if he likes, let him pull down the building. By the way, it's his inheritance."
Jade was right, of course. The moon goddess had chosen Gigi over Angel, and there was nothing anyone could do to change that. But Leo was stubborn and had a reputation for being unpredictable. I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was brewing in his mind, something that could potentially cause chaos in our already delicate situation.
As we cooked breakfast and talked about Brandon, a loud boom interrupted our conversation. It was no ordinary thunder, and we both knew it. We exchanged worried glances, wondering what it might have destroyed. But we didn't dwell on it for too long, and soon enough, we were back to our cooking.
A few moments later, we heard noise from outside.
