ANGEL ANDREW'S POV

I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction with the ongoing situation. It wasn't because I had a cruel heart or because I took pleasure in others' pain. No, it was because I firmly believed that everything happens for a reason. And I knew that in this moment, fate was working in my favor.

Lycan Leo, the pillar of the pack, had been injured in a vicious battle with a rival pack. He was now unconscious and in need of supervision, which is why I planned to keep him under my care for a while. It was a perfect opportunity for me to gain some power within the pack, and I wasn't going to let it slip away.

As I was lost in my thoughts, the pack warriors brought in Lycan Leo's beta, Brandon. He was barely alive, and I could tell that the thunder and rain only added to the tension in the air. It was as if the world knew that something terrible had happened.

Jade, Brandon's mate, rushed out when she heard the commotion. Her screams and cries were deafening, and I knew that she would do anything to save him. But deep down, I knew that it was already too late.

I ordered some nurses to take Brandon to a ward, hoping that I could attend to him soon. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that it was a lost cause. The rain continued to pour down, and the cries of the wolves seeking refuge only added to the chaos.

But amidst all the turmoil, I felt a sense of calm. I knew that this was all part of a larger plan. Lycan Leo's injury and Brandon's death were unfortunate events, but they were also necessary. They were the first steps towards my ascent to power within the pack.

The emergency room was a flurry of activity as I rushed to get the equipment needed to check on Brandon. His heart was still beating, but the clock was ticking. If we didn't act fast, he might not make it. As I began treatment, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about Jade's presence. I knew she didn't like me, but I couldn't let that distract me from my goal—saving Brandon's life.

I ordered Jade to go and be with Lycan Leo in his ward. She left without protest, and I breathed a sigh of relief. But as I worked on Brandon, I couldn't shake the feeling that Juliet and Gigi were lurking around, waiting for their chance to pounce.

Despite the tension in the room, I focused on my work, determined to do whatever it took to save Brandon. His body responded well to the treatment, and I knew that with a little more time, he would pull through.

But as I continued to work, I couldn't help but think back to the events that led us here. Brandon's refusal to listen to my advice had put him in this situation, and I couldn't help but feel a tinge of resentment towards him.

As we worked to save Brandon's life, I received a call from Lycan Leo's ward. His condition had worsened, and I needed to be there for him. I told Jade to go be with Brandon, hoping that she wouldn't cause any trouble.

As I walked towards Lycan Leo's ward, memories of our childhood flooded my mind. We had been inseparable back then, but life had pulled us apart. Now, as I stood by his side, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia.

But my reverie was cut short by the arrival of Juliet and Gigi. I could sense their hostility towards me, and I knew that I had to be careful. As they made their way to Brandon's ward, I felt a surge of anger towards them. just because they had the right to be here, and I made a mental note to keep a close eye on them.

As the hours ticked by, Brandon's condition stabilized, and he was finally awake. I made my way back to his ward, relieved that he had made it through. But as I looked at him lying there, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment. He had put himself in this situation, and I knew that I would never be able to trust him again.

Lycan Leo was always a fighter. His unwavering spirit and undying determination were the things that made him stand out from the rest of the pack. But his current condition was a cause for concern for everyone who knew him. It was as if he was battling with something that no one else could see.

I watched as his body writhed in pain, his muscles tensed, and his breaths were ragged. It was like he was being torn apart from the inside out. As the pack's most trusted doctor, I was trying my best, but nothing seemed to be working. He would be fine one minute, and then the next, he would be worse than ever.

I couldn't bear to watch him suffer like this. I wanted to do something, anything, to ease his pain. So, I made a promise to myself that I would not let him go. I would fight for him until the very end.

As I stepped out into the cold rain, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. The raindrops were like a soothing balm, washing away the pain and the fear. I looked up at the sky, and for a moment, I felt like the world had stopped spinning.

But then I remembered the task at hand. I had to find a way to save Lycan Leo. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I was willing to do whatever it took. I wiped away my tears and took a deep breath. It was time to get to work.

As I walked back into the hospital room, I couldn't help but think about Gigi. She was always hovering around Leo, trying to get his attention. But I knew that he would never choose her over me. We were meant to be together, from the moment we first met and became childhood friends. And that's why the elders have also chosen me to be his Luna.

I took a deep breath and walked over to his bed. His eyes were closed, and his breathing was shallow. I reached out and took his hand, hoping that my touch would bring him comfort. And then something incredible happened.

I felt a surge of energy pass between us, like a current of electricity. It was like our bond was being rekindled, stronger than ever before. I knew then that he was going to make it, but I hope my imagination will become reality.

Jade approached me with a serious expression on her face. "I need to take Brandon home," she said, her voice strained. "He's not doing well here." He said he doesn't want to stay anymore. My heart sank. I knew that Brandon wasn't fully recovered, but I couldn't stop him from leaving if he had made up his mind.

"Okay, you can take him," I said, trying to sound as reassuring as possible. "Just take care of him, please." Jade looked at me with an expression of neglect, but I didn't have the energy to confront her about it. I just wanted them all to leave so that I could focus on Lycan Leo.

With Brandon gone, I turned my attention back to Leo. I had been treating him for hours, and I was starting to feel a glimmer of hope. Maybe he would pull through after all.

And then, just as I was about to lose faith, he woke up. I was overjoyed to be the first person he saw when he opened his eyes. He smiled at me, and I felt like the universe had been handed to me on a silver platter.

As the night wore on, I sat with Leo, holding his hand and talking to him. He didn't have the strength to say much, but I knew that he appreciated my presence. Finally, I told him to rest and drifted off to sleep beside him.

When I woke up in the middle of the night, Leo was still sleeping soundly. I felt a surge of pride and accomplishment. I had saved him, and I knew that the elders would be pleased with me.

But then a dark thought crept into my mind. What if Leo woke up and rejected me again? What if he didn't want anything to do with me after I had saved his life? The idea was too much to bear. I couldn't let him see me as anything less than perfect.

So I stayed by his side, refusing to leave him alone with the nurses. I was determined to be the one person he could rely on, no matter what. And maybe, just maybe, he would come to see me in a new light.
