Chapter 30

Chapter 30
The cold morning made Lisa prepare a thick jacket for her husband; Lucanne was usually immune to the cold, but she couldn't stand the slightly different temperature in his office. The food was also ready on the table, and they ate together like an average family.

"My office is having a campout near the forest, you and Leonard can come," Lucanne said.

"Camp near the forest? That's dangerous because a werewolf could harm you," Lisa replied.

Lucanne's eyes suddenly glanced at Lisa, and the woman immediately apologized for not meaning to insult the werewolves.

"I apologize, but not all werewolves can be as good as our clan and there are colonies that like to attack humans," Lisa replied.

"You don't have to worry, this is a human forest so werewolves won't dare disturb it. Please prepare all the camp equipment and food that will be brought for the weekend camp," Lucanne said.

Lisa nodded her head, they then ate together while Lisa imagined what the activities at the camp would be. She feared it would be a full moon, and the werewolves would have more power to harass the humans.

"My Luna, what are you thinking about?" asked Lucanne.

"It's nothing. Let's finish the food!"

After finishing the meal, Lisa drove Lucanne to the porch. The man then got into the car and left the Pack. The other werewolves were also doing the same thing, working while the women were busy caring for the children and the house. Suddenly, a journalist arrived; she didn't know where he came from, but he didn't have permission to enter the werewolf area.

"Excuse me, who are you?" asked Lisa.

The man continued to take pictures around her and chuckled in surprise.

"Sorry, you can't take photos here," Lisa said.

"Are you a werewolf?" the man asked.

Lisa just frowned.

"My name is Jonas, I'm a newsman at a private TV station. I heard that this place is a werewolf area?" asked Jonas.

"No, this is a human area and there are no werewolves. Please leave!" said Lisa.

"I've been watching you guys lately, every night you perform rituals and I've also heard wolf howls."

"Didn't you hear me? Please get out of here! Save your bullshit!"

Jonas approached Lisa and showed her the video he had secretly taken; Lisa was shocked when she saw the footage of the Moon Goddes summoning.

"What else can you say? Are you the queen here? Then where's Alpha?"

Sean and several other werewolves arrived. They told Jonas to leave, but Lisa held him back because he had a video of this clan. Jonas, of course, felt victorious for keeping their secret; he just wanted to do some research on werewolves.

"I'm just doing research and not going public, so can I stay here for a few days?" Jonas asked.

"Can you trust what you say? We are not your research material," Sean replied.

"Are you Alpha here?"

"No, the Alpha isn't here," Lisa replied.

"Come on! Just two days, I've always been curious about werewolves. I've seen them in the forest, but when I chase them they always disappear. Why are you hiding a werewolf civilization when humans and werewolves can work together," Jonas replied.

"Because humans would destroy our civilization if that happened. Now leave or I'll kill you," Sean said.

"Okay, after this, I will spread the video I took secretly," Jonas threatened.
Lisa pulled Sean's hand; she talked him into allowing Jonas and then told him to shut up. Sean had to wait to decide because only an alpha had the right to give permission, but currently, the alpha was not in the Pack.

"Okay, you can come here to meet with our leader in the afternoon. We can't just decide because this area also has rules. Now you can leave and come back later in the afternoon," Sean said.

"Oh, werewolves work too? Wow... you guys are so modern."

"Go away, don't make us angry!" said Lisa.

"Hahaha... okay. I'll come here in the afternoon, I wonder what kind of leader you guys are," Jonas replied.

The man then walked out of the Pack while Lisa wondered why any human could be suspicious of this Pack, and there must be a cause.

"Sean, tighten the security of this Pack! Don't let the other humans find out too!" Lisa said.

"Yes, Luna."

At the office.

Lucanne was busy with his work. A woman came in with a drink, and it was the woman who often tried to get Lucanne's attention.

"Don't take your work too seriously! Our boss isn't here," Marry said.

Lucanne remained silent and never wanted to be talked to while working.

"Lucanne, did you bring lunch again? Why don't you ever want to eat with us?" asked Mary.

"Marry, get on with your work! My wife always brings me food so why should I eat in the unhygienic canteen?" asked Lucanne.

"Come on, we're all office mates, don't be so rigid!" said Mary.

Lucanne stood up. "I'm going to the bathroom."

After Lucanne went to the bathroom, Mary was so curious about what food Lucanne had brought that she didn't want to eat the cafeteria food. When she opened it, she was surprised that it contained fresh red meat with a fishy odour that spread upon opening and several pieces of uncooked chicken.

"Aaaaaah!"

Marry screamed and threw the lunch on the floor, everyone came over and was shocked by the contents of Lucanne's lunch.

"Raw meat and chicken?" they asked.

Lucanne came out from the bathroom and was furious that his wife's lunch was scattered on the floor.

"Did you eat raw meat?" asked Mary.

"If so, why?" asked Lucanne as she picked up all the meat.

Everyone immediately looked at Lucanne sarcastically and whispered to each other.

"Is there a problem? You're invading people's privacy, I can report you to the police," said Lucanne.

"Are you crazy? What human eats raw meat, even the Japanese only eat raw fish filleted instead of a pile of meat like that."

Lucanne's face looked annoyed, but she still managed to hold it in, everyone stared disgustedly at Lucanne and continued their work. Marry approached her, still curious about Lucanne.

"How strange," said Marry.

"Leave me alone!" said Lucanne, giving her a sharp look.

Marry walked away from Lucanne, while Lucanne let out a long sigh as she was about to be discovered as a werewolf.

After finishing work, Lucanne returned to the Pack hungry; she couldn't eat the meat, falling to the floor. Arriving home, she opened the refrigerator and devoured all the flesh there. Lisa approached her, wondering what was wrong with her husband.

"Why?" she asked.

"I was so hungry and all my meat fell on the floor," Lucanne replied.

"How come? That's too bad, you should have called me to bring more meat to your office."

"It's okay, I'm still hungry," Lucanne said.

"I want to talk to you, there's a human who's been monitoring us since a few days ago and wants to do a two-day research in our Pack. If it's not allowed then he will spread all the videos he secretly took while we were doing activities in the Pack," Lisa said.

"Where is that person now?" asked Lisa.

"Hi, am I late?" A man arrived, and it was Jonas.

"You?" said Lucanne.

"Lucanne, do you know him?"

"He's my coworker," Lucanne said, looking at him sharply.

Jonas smiled a little; it turned out that he was not a journalist, and what he said earlier was a lie. Lisa was distraught and wondered how Jonas could be suspicious of his coworker.

"Turns out you're a werewolf? I've suspected from the start, you always stay away at lunch and always eat in the bathroom. Besides vampires, it turns out we have a werewolf in our office too. This is very interesting," Jonas said.

"I haven't killed anyone in a long time," Lucanne replied.
