Chapter 29

Chapter 29
Lucanne went home to Pack after hearing his son and his wife yelling on the phone; upon arriving at Pack, he saw them playing together with a middle-aged woman and an older man.

"What are you here for?" asked Lucanne.

"Lucanne, how long do you want to be enemies with your mother?"

"You're not my mother anymore!"

"Honey, you can't be like that with mom! She is your mother, after all," said Lisa.

The older man named Jack hugged Lucanne; as a stepfather, he had not been able to take Lucanne's heart. Who wouldn't want to be with their child, especially since Lucanne didn't consider him a father? Lucanne released his embrace and looked at Lisa and Leonard.

"Why are you screaming?" Lucanne asked.

"Sorry, I was stung by a bee when I picked Leonard up from the tree; Leo panicked, so he screamed, too," Lisa replied.

"Next time, don't hang up and worry me!" said Lucanne.

Mom noticed her son was getting older and even had a cute child; she thought the past should pass because one's age doesn't know, fearing that death would separate them before apologizing.

"Lucanne, I want to talk to you alone," Mom said.

"I have to go back to the office because I'm not supposed to be home yet," Lucanne replied.

"In less than two hours, can't you ask your boss for permission?" asked Lisa.

"No, I work for a company, and there are rules. I'll go first; I'll see you later," Lucanne replied.

Lucanne left again, leaving the Pack in his luxury car. Mom could only look at her son from a distance, and of course, she was sad because it had been decades since they could not get along since Mom decided to marry a human.

"Mom, don't worry! I'll persuade Lucanne to reconcile with you again," Lisa said.

"Thank you, Lisa. Just letting us into the Pack makes us very happy," Mom replied and hugged Lisa tightly.

They then ate together while chatting. Leonard was also busy playing by himself, but the boy had to be supervised. The werewolf gene from his father is so strong that Lisa hasn't dared to send Leonard to a human school; the last time, Leonard clawed a human child in a park near the city. Therefore, Lisa is conscientious about Leonard, who can harm others and herself.

"Don't you want more children?" Mom asked.

"I'm not ready yet because Leonard is too dangerous to be left alone," Lisa replied.

Lisa stirred some hot coffee and gave it to her mother-in-law.

"Thank you," said mom.

"Mom, whenever you want to come, then just come! Lucanne will come around one day," Lisa said.

"Mom's mistake was indeed big for betraying the Pack and marrying a human until you had to part with Lucanne. It's only natural that Lucanne hates Mom so much until this moment because everything is not easy to forgive," Mom replied.

"There are no children who hate their parents, and they are just reluctant to apologize or forgive even though they think about their parents every day. I also really hate my father, but on the other hand, I really miss him; my regret now is that I haven't been able to make my father proud," said Lisa.

"I wonder why you didn't hate Lucanne when she killed your parents?" she asked.

"They deserved it, especially my evil stepmother," said Lisa.

In the evening, Lucanne didn't want to talk to her mother yet, but her mother was still at the Pack because Lisa had told her to stay there. Tonight would also see the calling of the Moon Goddes to thank her for keeping the Pack in good shape. All the werewolves sat in the field with total concentration, chanting mantras for the Moon Goddes to come. It wasn't long before the Moon Goddes arrived; all the werewolves focused on him and together bowed to him, after which they sat down again while listening to Lucanne start talking.

"Lucanne, you are indeed a very intelligent werewolf; you can protect all your colonies and move them to a much safer place," said Moon Goddes.

"Thank you, Moon Goddes. It was all thanks to your permission," Lucanne replied.

"You know what, Lucanne? This clan is the most well-developed of all the clans; you can also coexist with humans without harming them," said Moon Goddes.

"It's all thanks to Lisa, who taught us like this. We didn't leave our rules as werewolves, but we just added the way humans live in this modern era. Vampires have always been advanced; why can't werewolves?" said Lucanne.

"But don't get excited just yet! Remember when you first wanted to get married and asked for my blessing, but I told you what would happen next? Moreno and Mark are just some of the small problems; of course, there will be big problems, especially from Lisa, who is an elf," said Moon Goddes.

"I'm ready to face it no matter what," Lisa replied confidently.

Moon Goddes smiled. "Are you ready if one day you have to leave the Pack and return to the sky?"

"Back to the sky? You never said any of that before," Lisa said.

"Not everything I have to say because you guys have to be prepared and careful."

"I won't let Lisa go back to the sky; she'll stay with us," Lucanne said.

"That is your duty as an alpha and a good husband."

After that, Moon Goddes left, all the werewolves bowed to her again, and the ceremony was over, and they could eat the food that Moon Goddess had blessed. Lisa thought about what Moon Goddes said if she had to go back to the sky when she had never been there. Did the sky mean death?

"Honey, you don't have to think about what the Moon Goddess said!" said Lucanne.

"I'm just afraid I won't be able to see you guys anymore. Werewolves live a long time, and I don't," Lisa replied.

Lucanne hugged Lisa's body tightly. "I won't let that happen, and I'll defy fate so that you can continue to be with us. I love you, my Luna."
